I thought Sweetgrass was a really cool documentary.
http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/thumb/6/62/SweetgrassPoster.jpg/406px-SweetgrassPoster.jpg
It's nothing political like most of the documentary recommendations here; just lots of shots of beautiful country in the Absoroka-Beartooth mountains just northeast of Yellowstone. I did a little bit of hiking there last summer and it's spectacular. It has a couple of really funny parts and some of the wide shots taken from up on ridges are amazing. Plus there is no annoying narrator.

Up Syndrome
Using donated digital tapes and a camera purchased with money earned from an eBay sale, indie filmmaker Duane Graves's critically acclaimed documentary chronicles a year in the life of his childhood friend, Rene Moreno, who has Down Syndrome. After graduating from a high school for special students, Moreno sets out to make his way in the adult world, optimistically battling the prejudices his condition engenders.
It also takes place in San Antonio. It's pretty stellar.

from the netflix blog
"Hi Cindy Holland here, VP content acquisition. I’m excited to tell you we’ve struck a deal with CBS and starting in April, you’ll be able to enjoy episodes of fan favorites like “Medium” and “Flashpoint,” as well as full seasons of the classic series “Cheers,” “Frasier,” “Twin Peaks,” “Family Ties” and “The Andy Griffith Show.” Also available: the original versions of TV greats “Star Trek,” “Twilight Zone” and “Hawaii Five-O.”
This is the first time CBS library programs are available to watch instantly, making Netflix the only online premium subscription service with shows from all four broadcast networks and many of the biggest cable TV outlets. We’re totally committed to bringing a wider selection of great shows and movies to our members and this does just that."

I skimmed through this thread to see if anyone mentioned this one: The king Of Kong. This movie had me rolling in laughter due to the sheer nerd/geekiness of the characters and their infatuation with games. But then before I knew it I was into the movie big time! Check it out, you'll see what I mean. By the way Steve Mitchell is a little biatch!!

Attack on Darfur. This movie is graphic, violent, gratuitous and all-around horrible to watch - everything that a movie that tells the truth about what went on in Darfur should be. If for no other reason, watch it because it's the only Uwe Boll movie in existence that doesn't totally suck, and thus in its rarity should be viewed by everyone (over the age of 18). Besides, who doesn't want to see a talented actor like David O'Hara shot, doused in gasoline, burned alive, shot again, and his corpse hacked into pieces with a machete?

Jodorowsky makes David Lynch look like a square.
A little interesting tidbit. Jodorowsky was the first choice for the movie Dune that was gonna be the bests sci fi movie ever. But Jodorowsky got way too crazy and spending too much $. Dune had turned out to be the most expensive movie ever and they hadn't even started shooting. They got tired of him and brought in Lynch. Lynch dissapointed. They ended up using Jodorowsky's work in Dune in Alien and Star Wars.

There's a reoccurring feeling with all the movies I've streamed on netflix lately. That is that the production quality or direction is not grade A quality. However This one was a decent watch as well and I thought Robert Deniro did a great job on his part. 3 1/2 stars.

Admittedly I had never seen the entire Cult classic The Big Lebowski. I knew of the "Dude" but never watched the whole thing. Well I finally watched it from beginning to end. I was underwhelmed. It had some funny moments. But overall I didn't get that feeling like the Dude was all that. Yeah hes an unemployed 40 something that drinks white Russians and smokes weed then plays bowling everyday. Great. 2 1/2 stars.

But if you're one of those who's not interested in foreign film, documentaries, etc.. then go to red box and all the other pricey crap..

Vudu is by far the best quality instant stream out there. IMO, there is no comparison in picture or sound quality. It is that good.

Guess you wouldn't dig the occasionally outstanding BBC series Wire In The Blood, episodes of which clock-in around 90min. For mystery/horror fans that don't mind some character development, slow-burn suspense, or English sensibilities, however, the show gets high marks.
Just watched the 3 "Sherlock" shows (which strive to modernize S. Holmes and also run around 90 min) and enjoyed them, too. Martin Freeman from "The Office" (UK) plays Dr. Watson.

Streamed this last night, and realized how hard it is for me to go 2 1/2 hours now without checking my phone or computer... You can't really do that when you're watching a silent film.

:lmao The old ST:NG episodes are funny as shit. I'm loving this.
I would skip the first 2 seasons tbh. They are so fucking bad :lol. There are only a few episodes worth watching. TNG doesn't hit it's stride until season 3, It's awesome from there on out. I would also avoid Enterprise and Voyager. Deep Space Nine is the best Star Trek series imo. But that ain't out till October. TOS, and TNG should be good for now.
Worth watching:
Season 1
"Encounter At Farpoint"
"Datalore"
"Coming of Age"
"Skin of Evil"
"Conspiracy"
"The Neutral Zone"
Season 2
"Elementary, Dear Data"
"The Measure of a Man"
"Q Who"
The Emissary"
From there you can just jump right into season 3.

:tu I also enjoyed Sherlock. Check out Luther it's pretty damn good as well and it stars Idris Elba from The Wire.
Thanks for the tip. The editing in the first episode was horrible (like a kid just out of film school who was b-roll happy), but I'm glad I stuck with it. Solid show.

Kyle XY - its about this 16yr old kid who has no memory of himself, not even a name, and starts out not able to talk at all... Kind of like a 16yr old newborn baby.
He woke up naked in the forest, has no belly button and uses his entire brain (according to an MRI done in episode 2 I think). Im thinking he is some kind of lab grown person because there's this mysterious company guy keeping an eye on him. Plus he likes to sleep in a bath tub.

I'll be sure to check it out.... Been watching Kyle XY since about 3pm today and am already on episode 3 of season 2. Been watching non-stop when work allowed it and did a marathon of like 13 episodes when I got home (still watching as a matter of fact).
Each episode is about 43 minutes long just to give you an idea of how hooked I am.
I wont spoil it for anyone, but damn, if you are into stuff like Smallville meets x-files, you need to check Kyle XY out.
