Oh look! A thread where Avante goes off topic and whines!

Oh look! Blake totally ignoring...ANOTHER...question he's asked.

Blake why do you argue with everyone you come in contact with?

I've already hijacked this thread enough myself by pushing your overly sensitive, thin skinned buttons. No need to add to it by answering ridiculous loaded questions like this:

Tron: Uprising the series

I have no idea why this has gone under the radar.

Best TV animation I have ever seen. By far. Might be the best I've seen anywhere.

Decent storylines, Elijah Wood, Mandy Moore, Paul lol Reubens and even original Tron: Bruce Boxleitner lend their voices as regular characters while Jeff Bridges makes cameos here and there.

Matrix, Star Wars, Mask of Zorro, Hunger Games all rolled into one

Season 1 ended with Clu and his army coming to town. Can't wait for season 2.

I stared watching this the other night. Pretty good for a cartoon for kids.

I'm up to episode 6 and I was wondering when Clu was going to show up. Nice spoiler there bro. lol

The japanese have better animation stuff though. Check out Shigurui. Pretty sick.

Guess I'm behind on animation these days lol, but I've never really liked anime or other japanimation

TedTalks

Highly reccomended. They added a ton of episodes about relevant and interesting topics. Very engaging.

Eps are between 5-17 minutes per episodes so its very much right to the point.

It's slower than it used to be, for a few weeks now. I'm guessing they need to upgrade their bandwidth at their end.

Fuck yeah, its annoying me to bits.

I'm almost to the point of calling them about it.

Its been spotty as hell. This whole month its been on and off. Couldn't get on at all for like 15 or so hours yesterday.

Once I get the initial data buffered, I have only had one time it stalled. It just seems like it takes forever to get the beginning buffered for me. It is taking at least four time longer to buffer the data, and it's not at my end.

My Bluray buffers a lot though. I unplugged the cable once, and it still played for several minutes before stopping.

This is pretty awesome:
http://www.reddit.com/r/netflix/comments/1fxwvt/with_this_script_you_can_switch_between_different/

Basically you can get access to the netflix catalog from different regions. Like shit from Canada, UK, Brazil, etc. This method only works on pc's though.

If you want to get different regions on different devices like on your ps3 you can use this:
http://www.unblock-us.com/

Only downside to unblock-us is that it isn't free. $5 a month. Personally i prefer the other method because it's free.. :lol

This is a good site to see what's available in what region: http://www.moreflicks.com/

I have been watching shitty documentaries on Netflix. And by shitty I mean I just needed something to play in the background. I ended up getting sucked into most of them. Hitler's Children, Yes Men fix the world, Prohibition and First Circle. I also rewatched Drop Dead Fred, seriously one of my favorite movies ever.

Jack Taylor (2011) is entertaining, and has Iain Glen, who plays Ser Jorah on Game of Thrones is the lead. He's been good in everything I have seen him in, esp Downton Abbey.

Marvel creating four superhero shows exclusively for Netflix, premiering in 2015 (http://www.theverge.com/2013/11/7/5076712/marvel-creating-four-superhero-tv-series-netflix-exclusives)

Marvel is creating four live-action superhero series that will air exclusively on Netflix beginning in 2015. The first of the TV series will focus on Daredevil, while the following series will star Jessica Jones, Iron Fist, and Luke Cage. At least 13 episodes of each series will be produced, and — like all good Marvel series — they'll each come together for an additional special event called The Defenders.

Apparently Netflix is getting rid of a big chunk of its streaming content as of the first of the year. If you've been wanting to watch Braveheart, or Kids in the Hall, or Breakin' 2: Electric Boogaloo, you'd better do it soon.

Good. Netflix Streaming is composed mostly of garbage movies.

Honestly all I care about is the TV shows on there. As long as they dont remove The Twilight Zone, Scrubs, Battlestar Galactica, Firefly, Being Human (Both versions) Flashpoint and Dollhouse I'm going to be fine.

Season 8 of Dexter is one of the worst seasons of a tv show in the history of television. That season just made you think that all the time you spent watching the other seasons was a waste. The ending was horrible. And did anyone ever think how dumb Dexter was during his kills? He didn't wear the booties to cover his shoes, he didn't wear a mask, and he always used the same method to kill them. You cannot have patterns and routines if you are a serial killer.

The ending was a total cop out. They didn't want Dexter to full on get caught and go to prison while they didn't want him to completely escape and live happily ever after, so they picked some stupid ending in the middle.

I'd also say that the only other redeeming quality of season 7 were all of the comments Matthews made towards Laguerda. When he said, "I can't do anything for you, unless you want a boat ride back to Cuba" it was hilarious.

LOL...

I haven't watched anything on Netflix in a while, but noticed that only with Sea Quest a couple years back. Now it seems their que only shows a maximim of 100 shows, but usually, all episodes are there. They just change the show numbering as you watch them.

I don't remember if it was Netflix or Hulu or Apple but we share our accounts with our kids who aren't at home. And we have three TVs at home because my wife's sister lives in our guest house. And the service we were using limited you to three streaming options at once. Eventually, it got to the point of just telling the kids they need to have their own account if they want to watch something. It might be YouTube TV now that I think about it. But it's all pretty cheap entertainment on an hourly basis. I always relate it back to spending $10 for a movie. And now paying $10 or so for Whataburger. It's pretty easy to make that fit in a budget. Although the reality is, I could live without Netflix if it came down to it. Or I could just keep rotating the providers which would be a pain in the ass. I'd probably never cancel Prime but if it came down to it, I could live with whatever stuff they provide. Cutting the cord has become expensive as shit.

Netflix literally let you make profiles for that exact reason. If Netflix had issues with this concept then they should have never added such a feature in the first place.

I don’t think people getting offended is the problem here. Netflix was fine with password sharing when they sat alone atop mount Olympus. Password sharing doesn’t seem all that great when you lose hundreds of thousands of subs every few months.

you still can have profiles. but you could still justify it as having different profiles in the household. parents watch one thing, teenage son watches one set of stuff, younger kids watch other things. and you could have people watching different things at the same time in different rooms in the house.

doesnt have to be your cousin living in a different state, or a coworker just borrowing your password to justify multiple profiles

this is true, and was a meme a few years ago when different streaming platforms starting emerging. 12 bucks here, 15 there, 8 there. suddenly you're back to your original cable bill.

Same. Prime is the easiest decision for me. I could probably live a happy life with only Prime. But when HBO or Apple gets something right, it's very good. Even Hulu. Netflix just has so much content that it's easy to justify. I think I'm also paying for Showtime and Paramount. And Disney but that was bundled with Hulu. And we have YouTube TV. I'm pretty sure that all adds up to what we were paying for with Direct TV.

:lol Profiles weren't created for password sharers, they were created for households who wanted different program selections and viewing histories for different people and ages.

I've got no problem with it. Just because they were unusually lenient about passwords before doesn't mean that doing the normal and expected thing is bad. People should be grateful they got free content as long as they did.

i thought it had some promise. think the episode with the big banquet and the next one with the big battles were strong, and even the couple leading up to those episodes were fine. but

- my god, an entire episode of ciri in the desert. why?
- no development with the wild hunt (the ghosts chasing). they just appeared and never mentioned again
- all of them constantly splitting up. yennefer leaving to help the mages, geralt telling ciri to go by herself, etc etc
- scary fire mage guy who has been built up for over a season unceremoniously one shotted with a gimmick. not to mention the end of episode fakeout about who was healing his hands. very cheap stuff

by far the biggest problem with the witcher is that the world-building is ass. game of thrones, otoh, meticulously set up their world. by watching the show, you learn each of the big cities/kingdoms, you get a rough idea of the geography, each faction's motivations, attitudes, how long it takes to get from one to the other. in the witcher, i have no clue where anything is. so theres nilfgard, and then is everybody else just "the north?" i have no clue. they name drop so many different cities, but i have no clue where any of them are in relation to each other, or what significance they have. its just a dull world

by far the biggest problem with the witcher is that the world-building is ass. game of thrones, otoh, meticulously set up their world. by watching the show, you learn each of the big cities/kingdoms, you get a rough idea of the geography, each faction's motivations, attitudes, how long it takes to get from one to the other. in the witcher, i have no clue where anything is. so theres nilfgard, and then is everybody else just "the north?" i have no clue. they name drop so many different cities, but i have no clue where any of them are in relation to each other, or what significance they have. its just a dull world

budget? i would guess that was a really cheap episode to film.

I'm not really a fan of Gal Gadot's acting but I thought this movie was fun from start to finish. This has more of the feel of a series but I'm glad they squeezed it into a couple of hours. Disappointed there wasn't more Glenn Close tho.

I tried to go through a VPN but couldn't connect to anywhere outside the US.

I ended up watching it on watchdocumentaries.com. But I guess it was an uncut version. Run time was 2:45 or so whereas it's listed at 1:45. I had to double check to make sure I was watching the right one.
Also, whatever company did the subtitles for this was pretty terrible. I'm pretty sure this wasn't the version in wide release.

Anyway, it's a great documentary. I'm sure the polished version would have been more enjoyable.

The Out-Laws 6/10

Sandler produced it so it's got the storytelling / eccentric characters / fart humor vibe to it. Just go with that expectation and you'll be fine.

Decent LOLs, popcorn movie.

Dk why they cast that phaggot Pierce Bronson to play tough guy hetero roles, but he didn't ruin it.

I wouldn't hit a dog in the ass with Sandler, but finding Bronson is front of a camera is always a treat. I won't watch it, but seeing him defy age is the tear rising thrill. Women can't defy it, but men can and that is at least 1 victory wherever man dwells.

So…can’t believe I’m saying it, but I just finished watching One Piece and I actually liked it. I don’t know anything about manga so I probably couldn’t appreciate it like others, but it was good fun.

It was refreshingly non-preachy or woke, which allowed me to let down my guard of pretense and criticism and just enjoy the campiness and wild fantasy pirate world they constructed. Eventually, I felt just like a 10-12 year old kid getting lost in the story and enjoying the ride.

Give it a shot, I think you might be surprised

The Sinner each season concludes.
The next season stands alone and seperate.
So even tho the series is finished, you've got 4 long seasons eps of about 45 min each for bout 3 hours.

Above i said Season 5. Turns out there is no such.
I stared on Season 4. Whether it was a click of an icon i made or that is the way Netflix presented the show to me, i don't know.
When 4 finished, it auto rolled into Season 1.

So i can vouche for Season 1 and Season 4. Both kick ass, i would be quite surprised Dale if you did not find them very view worthy.
Surprised none of the others have weighed in, unless they did upthread.
SforSix, sr21. I'm guessing they have seen it.

Well, I owe you a big one here, Blake. Sat down this evening and watched it. Sweet Jesus it was fantastic. So many fine sequences where their game faces are all gone. And Ross crying because she wanted the night to last forever. She knew.

Springsteen lost at one juncture and (they) helped him out.
Same with Dylan; the entire evening into the night he was sullen and guarded...then Wonder takes him into the corner and helps him figure his solo out.

And Jackson standing all alone by the mic, in absolute contrition.

I was in tears over this damn thing a half-hour back.

& Lauper correcting group for their laughter at her solo.

I had no idea this much work went into that video. I never knew the solos were separate. I just figured they practiced and then shot it.

Without your recommendation, Blake, I'd never gave it a glance.

Lionel Richie's remembrance of his father's explanation of a (house) I shall never forget.

Dale,
I had inadvertently said I'd watched "the 1st season." Actually had watched the 1st "episode" only.

Trying now to struggle thru Ep 5 and may just end it here.
Does far too much plot wandering. In fact what the hell is the plot after ep 3? Now in Ep 5 it's just getting weird. I mean even more so then anything you saw in 1234.

Side point, major amateur hour the was they failed to match the voices with the visuals. Common practice in Hollywood and elsewhere to record the visual and voice completely separately. Yep. So no problem with that tact. But these guys seriously slacked on making vocal match visual. It's like a poorly dubbed foreign movie in some places, yet spot on in others.

Regardless, take a look at least Ep 1 and perhaps sally into Ep 2 and tell me what you think.

Detailed story that has some twists & turns about it. I didn't care for these twists & turns because I was sure it was going one way and I was all for it, and that ain't what happened. The girls are gorgeous and the Surgeon is enraged START to even after the FINISH.

There is a sequence, two in fact where the owner of the nightclub approaches the Surgeon and both sequences are handled deftly.

On Netflix.
Good show.
Got a lot of questions.
Found a site that was giving a lot of info, but my security system said bail, bad news as the site had no SSL cert, malware etc. Other then that not any sites that break it down, at least not that i am finding.

Ok in random order.
So that was the son Marcos raping Esther in the car? Rather then being innocent victim of club-gang hoodlums, some one came along and discovered Marco and his buddies pulling a rape train on Esther?

If so, why was the Dad Jamie so hard on Esther after she gave him the video expose? Because she waited so damn long to show Dad the video? Dad realized if you had shown me the incriminating video a week earlier i probably would not have gone out and among other things just killed a kid. And got that loose cannon wife beating guy killed. The one he hired to rough up those who put his son in a coma.

Marcos was dating Esther, they broke up and the reason was because Marco suspected she was dating Club Boy the owners son. In reality Esther was eating clam with Marcos sister Sara and wasn't about to reveal that to Marcos?

Did Dad knife the "right" person, that being the kid Dad knifed in the rest room was indeed the kid who delivered the most vicious blows to his sons head?
