That has been a major problem since season three. They produce 16 episodes a season, not the standard cable 13, or as you said 10 would probably be better. If they'd shorten the seasons and tighten up the story, the show would be so much better. They have too much space to fill right now. It's frustrating. That explains it...its unbelievable I used to be glued to me chair when this show would air on Sunday's. I missed half of last season and I feel like I didnt miss much. It's just too much filler shit. You can tell because they barely spend money on certain episodes. Die hard walking dead fans say fans expect too much action and not enough dialogue but thats not true. GOT and Breaking bad had plenty of dialogue episodes that were awesome.

It's a good episode Negan steals the show as usual. We get to see a lot more about the Savior's base camp and the inner workings of the hierarchy. It bounces back and forth to Alexandria with Eugene and Rosita being the primary focus. It's a good episode imo

The actress playing Michonne is leaving to focus on her movie career after appearing in literally 3 of the top 10 biggest movies ever. Lincoln is still doing the 3 Walking Dead movies and said that he regrets leaving when he did because season 9 got even better when he left. Critical reception has also improved; its rotten tomatoes score for season 9 is the highest of the series- at 90% compared to season 7 and season 8 which was at 63 and 64%.

Into Season 8 now. Yea, the writing is getting progressively worse. The dialogue is cheesy at times. The plot points are amateurish at times. And they sort of neutered the ferocity of the walkers over time as well. If they were that easy to combat, there never would've been that large-scale epidemic in the first place. I'm basically just watching for the military skirmishes at this point; and even those aren't always well done. Had to laugh when the visual effect of a bomb going off was just the screen going black for six seconds. This show would be getting on my nerves if I was watching week to week; but it's okay enough for a binge.

* They jumped the shark on making Carol a female Rambo character long ago, but this season's just quadrupling down on it.
