Really enjoyed bane. Movie was awesome.
Well, just finding out about that horrible shooting in Colorado really just fucking bummed me the f out. Damn that's messed up what happened.

I'm still gonna catch this movie later today, but it is bumming nonetheless to hear something like this would be carried out. Fucking scum.

A lot of close ups of Anne Hathaway's butt and Tom Hardy's face.
My brother and I waited 4 hours in the movie theater and finally saw it. We basically were sitting in a movie theater from 8pm to 3am. I liked it. I'm not sure if it was better than The Dark Knight. It was probably better than Batman Begins.
Props to the Liam Neeson Taken spoilers meme.

'Dark Knight Rises' called epic, perfect by fans at midnight showings
People went batty for Batman at the AMC (http://www.newsday.com/topics/AMC) Loews (http://www.newsday.com/topics/Loews) Shore 8 theater in Huntington filling up all eight midnight showings of "The Dark Knight Rises" early this morning.
"This is by far the best movie of the year," says Angel Salazar, 17, of Huntington Station. "It makes 'The Amazing Spider-Man' look like a child's film."
Fans exited the two hour and 45 minute film at 3 a.m. stunned and amazed at the conclusion to director Christopher Nolan (http://www.newsday.com/topics/Christopher_Nolan)'s trilogy.
"It was the perfect ending," notes Jacob Axelrod, 20, of Centerport (http://www.newsday.com/topics/Centerport,_NY). "It was like Occupy Wall Street meets the French Revolution."
The story picks up eight years after "The Dark Knight," when Batman ( Christian Bale (http://www.newsday.com/topics/Christian_Bale)) battled the Joker (the late Heath Ledger (http://www.newsday.com/topics/Heath_Ledger)). Batman has been in hiding and must come out of retirement when uber terrorist Bane (Tom Hardy (http://www.newsday.com/topics/Tom_Hardy)) brings Gotham City to its knees.
"As a comic book fan, I think it effectively combined a bunch of different Batman stories and meshed them together very well," said Thomas Fischl, 20, of Huntington.
The burning question people have been wondering is whether the new chapter surpasses 2008's mega-blockbuster "The Dark Knight."
"I think it was better than 'The Dark Knight' because there was more going on," says Kevin McCarthy (http://www.newsday.com/topics/Kevin_McCarthy), 25, of Huntington. "You get to see Bruce Wayne rise up like the title says, which was inspiring."
"Heath Ledger (http://www.newsday.com/topics/Heath_Ledger)'s performance in the last film was unrivaled," adds J.P. Letourmeau, 18, of Centerport (http://www.newsday.com/topics/Centerport,_NY). "But this story was on more of an epic scale."
The villain character of Bane won raves from crowd for his cruel brutality while Catwoman ( Anne Hathaway (http://www.newsday.com/topics/Anne_Hathaway)) got most of the film's clever quips and added sex appeal.
"Both Bane and Catwoman were done better than the last time," says Dan Lerner, 22, of Dix Hills. "The characters were well developed and not mindless."
The unpredictable ending had people holding their breath and cheering right up until the credits rolled.
"The ending was something I didn't expect. It blew my mind," comments Joey Judice, 16, of Centerport. "Finally someone portrayed Batman the way it should be done."

I really enjoyed the movie. I won't spoil anything. Bane's voice was great. It will be hard to make a reboot of Batman for a very long time (if ever) after how good this franchise was.

Small. I go to big movies on their opening weekend as often as I can, and the earliest matinee is the way to do it. Especially during church hours.

I remember reading/watching an interview with Tom Hardy (I think) where he (or whoever) had said that the Bane voice just took some exposure to get used to, and I totally agree. It took a few lines for me to adjust, but it was nearly completely comprehensible once I did.

The tragedy won't affect my plans to see the movie this weekend. As someone who follows box office results I wouldn't be surprised if the movie opened lower than estimates because of the shooting.

I'm so disappointed in myself; I started nodding off during the scene where Batman was recovering from his injuries, so I have no idea what happened between then and when Bane started blowing up the sewers.
I guess that's what I get for not sleeping for two days straight. Count that as one perfectly good Imax ticket wasted...:depressed

Nice, 2nd highest midnight opening ever. I figured it wouldn't beat Potter's record.
"The Dark Knight Rises" was on track to rival and potentially beat "The Avengers" by the end of its first weekend. However, it now remains to be seen whether news of the Aurora, Colo., movie theater shooting where 12 people were killed and dozens more injured will keep audiences away from theaters and dampen ticket sales this weekend and beyond."
That fucking sucks.

If that's all I wanted I could just pop Bronson in the PS3 and not deal with the rain.

Also, what's the over/under on how long it takes CBF to suggest that the shooting in Aurora was part of a vast conspiracy to hide the fact The Avengers would have had a stronger opening weekend?

So you weren't disappointed at all? Did you leave feeling the same way as you did after TDK (i.e. blown away)?
Was Catwoman a worthwhile part and did that add to the movie, detract or just blend in?

I thinking I'm going again this evening with my daughter. I think it deserves my watching at least once more in theaters.
I am pissed about this shit though. Apparently there are 2 different Man of Steel teasers playing at TDKR's screenings. I happened to see the one that isn't so great. I LOVE the other one (which I saw a leaked version online, but the cam footage sucked really bad).
Anyhow I really hope the good teaser is attached to TDKR's screening I watch tonight. Wtf have 2 diff ones?

So I'm probably going to see it again later this weekend so I can really take it in. I was really tired last night so I don't think I got as excited as I otherwise would have. In comparison to TDK, I would say its no better and no worse. Honestly, if anyone tells me they prefer any of the 3 over the other 2 I can't really disagree because at this point in time I consider all 3 close enough to where there's not much of a difference.
I definitely wasn't as excited as when I left TDK, but I still think its just as good. Catwoman was well acted and definitely did not detract from the story. Actually, this was easily the best acted of the 3 from top to bottom. There was no character who was poorly done or acted, IMO. I'm not a huge Joseph Gordon Levitt fan but he really did well in this film.
Honestly, probably my 2nd favorite trilogy of all time after LOTR.

I can only find the cam version online which isn't good quality. The one I'm referring to has the Thin Red Line theme on it. And i didn't get the Deadliest catch one, I got Superman Vs Jason.

I thought it was better than TDK, but the first one is always the best. I also think TDK got overrated big time due to Heath Ledger's death. Caused a lot of people to rate it higher than it actually was. I know IMDB has at 8.9, but it's closer to a 7.8 imo. I give Batman begins an 8.4, and this one a solid 8. Felt like some scenes were missing? What happened to the Lazarus pits that I heard Nolan was going to include?

was it in the film? I got up to take a piss for like 5 mins. I taught that's where Batman went to heal his broken body. Didn't know you could heal just by doing pushups, situps, pullups in a prison. And how did he fix his jacked up knees? Did he go to Germany on his way to Gotham? I guess I'm going to need to see it again!

Definitely was wrong - I thought she would ruin the movie possibly but I felt she stayed out of the way and didn't subtract from it. I didn't think she was awesome, but I'm glad she was very subtle and not featured a lot doing things on her own.
I liked the movie a pretty good amount. Didn't feel as blown away as I did when I left TDK, but definitely liked it and feel that if I watch it again, I would like it more.
Few things I didn't fully get, but overall was a good movie.

And I see RedZ gushing some over Catwoman. She ultimately was not bad, but that didn't make her good IMO. If she would be given a more prominent role it would be totally unbelievable and corny (all of Nolan's Batman's did a good job of making sure the corn factor was at a minimum).
She didn't suck, but added nothing for me and I would not want to see her more prominently displayed as a character.

Damn there's been a lot since I've been in here. First off, why the fuck is there 2 other TDKR threads? wtf is that? Anyways, awesome movie. I think it could've been a 4 hour long movie tbh. I wouldn't have minded seeing more of the underground strategizing going on between Gordon, his crew, and the trapped cops while Bane had the city on lockdown. I also loved the times when Wayne was in the prison, I would've loved to see more with him and the 2 cellmates.
Regardless, I don't know how I'd rank them all but easily the most epic of the 3 just like with most other great trilogies: Star Wars, TLotR, the man with no name trilogy, Indiana Jones
First movie is always more personal and main character based. Second is more dark and brooding. Third is more widescale with more characters involved
