On pc I have a few bugs but I don't mind cause it looks awesome:lol

On the ps3 I have been bug free since the update 1.3 starting with a new character. However I have not seen a dragon flying around and I'm on level 50. Don't know if that's a bug. I haven't started any main quest line so maybe that's it. Only dragons I see are at the word walls.

I'm pretty sure there's a bit of them on consoles too.. How far are you into it? You haven't seen one?

I'm level 42 and have completed all the major factions and Daedric quests, haven't really noticed any glitches apart from when the Dragons would fly off but that got fixed.

I dunno maybe i'm just really lucky, I didn't even notice many glitches in Fallout New Vegas.

So I guess it is/was a glitch then. Cause I had already done that when I was level 20 or so iirc. But either way I just reached level 50 and finally saw one randomly...jeeze took like 30 levels. Better late then never I suppose. Careful what you wish for cause this dragon caught me totally by surprise and killed me. I was so concerned with getting and removing my alchemy gear(while making some potions) I forgot to put my regular armour back on. I hadn't noticed I just had on my white boxers with ebony boots :lol

Edit: my bad I put I hadn't started the main Quest when I kinda did the first two or three and just wondered off.

Yeah I saw that. When I realized the Foresworn were dominating I started killing them, they wouldn't fight back, just kept saying, "I'm on your side!" So I went to a previous save, snuck behind the king in rags, and dual-shived the shit outta him.

Haven't ran into any of those yet, but clearing out a mine of Foresworn got an orc stronghold on my map, and this orc dude said I'd be welcome.

Skyrim DLC Packs Will 'Have A Lot of Meat on Them'

"They won't be quick."

really the only interesting part of the article is the last tidbit.

"Previously, Microsoft announced that the first two DLC packs for Skyrim would be exclusive to Xbox Live (http://xbox360.ign.com/articles/119/1190880p1.html) for 30 days."

lol you still have ALOT to do. the drinking contest gives you the sanguine rose, which is OP, and the quest is fun to boot.

if yall only want to kill dragons (after all, thats what the game's about) do the blades quests where you bring followers in and then go dragon hunting.

Hey anyone with an xbox, how do you download patches for skyrim?

I just realized I hadn't patched the game yet....not that I have been having any problems with bugs, it's been running okay

Also, is it worth installing the game or do the graphics look shittier like some others on the web have said?

As you have realized, Updates/patches are offered automatically if you are hooked up to the internet. Come to think of it, my ethernet on my 360 is disconnected, so I haven't even patched mine yet.

As for installing the game, I've never noticed it causing any issues with the graphics with any games. Just helps (quite drastically) with loading times and such. I have my Skyrim installed onto a 8gb flash drive and it loads stuff up pretty quickly.

Same here for the most part. I've had a couple cases where objects will blend together. Also, when fighting my first giant, I was only able to beat him because I had him chasing me up a mountainside and he somehow fell halfway into the ground and got stuck, so I just blasted him in the face with arrows. :lol

I also found a glitch in Whiterun where if you back into this certain corner outside a house, you fall into the ground and can mole around, but you can jump out pretty easily.

And I've had one case where I saw a dragon but he just flew away. He was way off in the distance though and I'm not sure he even "saw" me, so I don't think I'd really consider that a bug.

I'm just getting into fighting the Ancient Dragons now. Gottamn, those things are a bitch.

I honestly didn't have much trouble with the Dragons until I started fighting the Ancients. My firebolt / ice spike barely does anything to them, and I'm only able to get a few of those off before I get blasted by their dragon breath and have to start spending all my mana healing. Plus they are quick, and if they get anywhere near you, they'll chomp you in one bite.

I need to start using more hide & seek tactics when I go up against them, because facing them head on like the other dragons isn't working out too well. And I'm still working on building my enchanting and smithing right now, both are at about level 70-80 but I'm waiting to max them out before I spend my grand gems making a good set of armor.

Duck into and out of cover. I never had problems with ancients even when my character's level was in the 30s. Of course if you use ice spike against an ice-breathing dragon it won't do anything. Have you used the destruction perks for fire and ice? Once you do firebolt and ice spike are killer spells; my character is level 74 and runs through practically every enemy in the game with those two spells.

I could see how it might get boring if you are just a hack'n'slash kind of character, but honestly, I've been surprised how many times I've changed my offensive tactics. Through 30 levels, I've gone from using 1-handed weapon and shield, to 1-handed+destruction spells, to using a bow+restoration spells, to conjured weapons + restoration spells, and now to dual-casting destruction. Using firebolt is useful at high levels since it takes little magicka and always stuns the thing you're trying to kill for a second or two. It's incredibly useful against necromancers and draugr deathlords who can deal a lot of damage against you when you fight them with other tactics (of course stealth with a bow works best against them when you can do it).

using a staff of firebolt while casting firebolt from the other hand is also badass...the staff gains your perk benefits so it is potentially stronger than an initial firebolt. works with any other staff/spell combo that share the same school.

pair it with alteration and restoration. duel cast whatever destruction spell would be most effective for that certain enemy.

frost for melee, shock for mages and fire for everything else (unless its fire resistant). make sure you have a follower to keep the enemies occupied while you blast them. you could also put perks in conjuration to have an atronauch with you as well. if you cant get away from an enemy hold up a ward and use the other hand to cast.

up your enchanting and put some badass enchants on plain clothes and pair that with mage armor from alteration (thats what i do, anyway)

do the mages college early on as well. the benefits/gear/spells is worth it. the dark brotherhood also has decent mages gear.

right now im making my own vampire kit lol...dark elf, vampirism, some alteration and restoration, necromancy, illusion, sneak, enchanting and alchemy. i wonder how itll pan out.

I can't remember which stone you select, but one of them makes magic skills increase 20% faster. The best way is to get enchanting up to 100 and then put effects on your armor that up your total magicka, increase magicka when you level-up, and use both Augmented Flame and both Augmented Frost perks. Then dual-cast firebolt stuns the enemy on every hit and you can generally kill everything without getting hit once as long as you're fighting one enemy at a time and don't run out of magicka.

Morrowind had no fast travel, right? That would really blow in Oblivion or Skyrim.

fastest path to level that ive done so far is head directly to the thieves guild at level one. pick pocket everyone in town to max out pick pocketing and then use all the gold you make at the guild to train other skills....lol i can stealth and steal someones armor and weapon before they even attack me...as an imperial its not even fair because you can run all the way through a dungeon and then use voice of the emperor to calm everyone...then stealth and pick pocket what you're after.

Can the pickpocket perks get all your money back from the trainers at high levels? I think I only got 1/5 on the root of the pickpocket tree and the perk for making gold 50% easier to steal, and I could never pickpocket more than 1500 gold. If I used armor, rings, etc enchanted with pickpocket bonuses, my chance to steal would drop from like 20% to 0% when it was a decent amount of gold.

Nope. You had teleportation in a circle around the island via the orc strongholds, giant bugs that would transport you to adjacent cities, the mage guild would teleport you to other mages guilds, other than that it was all running.

Which really wasn't too too bad when your acrobatics and athleticism were god-levels, along with a few levitation potions, you could get around easily enough.

But the actual land area just seems so much bigger to me in Morrowind. I have been cutting back on fast travelling in skyrim and was blown away how quickly I was able to run from Whiterun to Markarth.

I agree. Mammoths may be tougher (take more damage), but they are easy to deal with, especially if you have some rocks nearby to gain the higher ground. Giants can actually chase you and seem to be more mobile.

Maybe they just consider Mammoths grand because in order to get to them, you'll generally have to deal with a couple giants first.

You can level enchanting fast by buying up a bunch of petty soul gems and then making and enchanting cheap items like daggers or bracers. Just go and soul trap a bunch of mud crabs, wolves, and deer for your unfilled petty soul gems.

Here's a tip if you lose Lydia somewhere (don't know if this works on other followers, or if you need another code for them)"

In console, type "a2c94.moveto player" (don't type quotes). It will spawn her right in front of you wherever you are. This doesn't work if she is dead or sometimes if she is glitched. There are other codes to revive her if she dies as well, but I don't remember them off the top of my head. This can help you not lose her when she can't follow you over certain terrain or gets stuck somewhere. I don't really consider it a cheat as it's more of a fix. Makes the followers less annoying.

This just teleports her right in front of you from where ever she was. I think it even works if you told her to wait somewhere. It's not the revive code, so her inventory isn't changed. I suppose you could cheat by leaving her at home in wait mode, and then summon her to the dungeon your at to hold stuff. That way she doesn't even need to wear armor or anything and is basically a summoned trunk/mule.

Yeah, you get her super early on the main quest line. She's more of a nuisance than anything else, really...I've had to reload so many times because her dumb ass got herself killed by rushing up against dragons/wizards/etc and she's a complete waste if you are trying to sneak. My char has a relatively low stamina (200) so I have to go back every now and then and unload, but I have a treasure trove of magical weapons, staffs, smithing and alchemy components, books, armor, potions, and dragon bones/scales just waiting around for me to do something with, be it use them or (more likely) sell them. The Dragon shit is only useful if you use light armor, as Dragonscale is the best you can have. For heavy armor you might as well make Deadric instead.

Do you have a house yet? I use the chest at the foot of the bed in the Archmages Quarters and just store my crap in there. As long as I keep up with unloading, I'm rarely pressed for carrying capacity.
I have the house in Whiterun and the house in Solitude. I don't carry a lot of things all the time, it's just when I'm coming back from some quests with a lot of things to sell.

I'm thinking about getting that heavy armor perk that makes the armor weight nothing. Those daedric armor are very heavy.

its basically a reusable grand soul gem. i enchanted soul siphon on my bow so when i need a grand soul i use the bow. once you use the black star, you can refill it with another soul and it never "breaks."

tbh the best use of the black star is weapon charger. once you get the banish enchantment you can make iron daggers worth around 1600-2000 depending on your level and gem you use.

it only cost around 160 gold to make (iron ignont leather strap petty soul gem) great way to level enchantment since you can just hope from town to town buying soul gems and still making money or losing very little if you decided to buy grand soul gems.

Sounds like a conversation I had with my wife 10 years ago.

Video games are not keepsakes. Dont buy games as gifts unless youre comfortable with the fact that at some point they will become obsolete and will be sold.

I trade in every system I own the moment the new system hits the market. Why do I want to play Wii when WiiU plays all the same games and is better (for example)?

Same with XBox, PS2, SNES, N64, PS, etc...

Games just have quicker turnover.

I put up close to 100 hours on that game in the first two weeks and still am nowhere near being completely done with it, although I haven't played in about a month, but still. This is the tactic I use with tough magic users. I'll also equip a weapon that is enchanted with shock. Use unrelenting force to knock the wizard on their ass, then start whacking away and by the time they recover, you will have either killed them, or at least drained enough magic that they won't be able to get their spells off.

I got my Daedric armor to like 1500 by making fortify alchemy gear, wearing it and making fortify enchantment potions, using them to make better fortify alchemy gear, wearing it and making better fortify enchantment potions, and so on until I couldn't make better alchemy gear and enchantment potions. Then use the strongest enchantment potions to make fortify smithing gear and the strongest alchemy gear to make the strongest smithing potions. Then wear the strongest smithing gear to make the armor, and while still having it on, use the strongest fortify smithing potions while improving the armor. You end up with your main piece of armor worth like 20,000 septims (is there even a merchant in the game who can pay that?). You can make nasty-ass swords, axes, warhammers, etc using that method too. Also the enchantments on your weapons (even if you choose to make them strongest with the least number of uses) take forever to run out using the fortify enchanting potions constructed with the strongest fortify alchemy gear.

yeah I've been aware of that method. But I don't really like pursuing that God-level character. Like I was saying, the game is easy enough. My weapon does bout 95. damage, and with a store bought 20% one handed boost necklace, tactics are already pretty much out the window. I used to have to treat every fight as if I might die.

When I get serious about starting a mage type character, I'll prob use this method, cuz it's really hard at early levels not depending on weapons.spent more time reloading the game after death than actually playing lol

Really? I think the early levels are far easier as a mage than hack and slash. The best destruction spells (firebolt and ice spike) are cheap to use and are much better for fighting dragons and necromancers (the two toughest enemies at lower levels).

Well yeah, some parts were easy, but I found dungeons to be more difficult, when a strong dragher would come chasing me, and I had little to no room to run and let my mana recharge. It was basically me running like crazy and taking a hit here or there, and by the time I had enough for a spell my health was now near gone.

I'm at the dwarven ruins you have to go to in the main quest, and the scenery is always so bad ass in these games in those places

I been saving the other ruins for later

Those places, at least the ones I've been to, are fucking massive. I was going through one for a quest and I just wanted to speed through it and even then it still took me like 45 minutes to get outta there

I hadn't played this game in a couple of months, so I played it for a while on my 360 yesterday. Got the newest update and now after killing Mercer I can't sell the Left Eye of the Falmer to the bald-headed guy in the Thieves Guild. Fucking shit, they got this stuff sorted out in the patch before last and then broke it again with the most recent one. :pctoss

I married an orc. Everytime I leave home she says "Conquer your enemies, my love."

lol I wish my girl would say that shit when I leave home.

I got it a couple of weeks ago. Its more fun that I would have thought. I'm rolling with a redguard tank but I almost want to start playing with light armor and sneaking around more. I just think I'll miss my shield too much.

I have done dual wielding orc, sneaking/bow Khajit and sword and board redguard. Khajit was by fat the easiest and funnest. Maybe cause it was my first character.

Damn if you want a REAL challenge level up a pure mage while playing master difficulty. You pretty much have to kite everything, even wolves and shit :lol. Fun nonetheless.

Yeah, they already have mods on the PC to play Morrowind with Oblivion's engine.

Imagine if they did the same with Skyrim's engine....
