manny never fought at 154, he fought margarito at a 150lb catchweight and there was no rehydration clause, margarito rehydrated to 167lbs on fightnight while manny weighed in at 144 and only gained 3lbs overnight. think you got info wrong bruh..
oh okay. how many catchweight fights does manny have compared to floyd?
i actually read that it was canelo's camp who wanted the catchweight. floyd wanted the 147 (which he has every right to demand since he's the GOAT) and like i said, canelo originally agreed to fight at 150 a while back.

i don't think he's a hypocrite because who else is there for him to fight??? he's kicked everyone's ass and top rank fighters won't fight him because of arum's puss ass. and floyd is a master of selling fights and talking shit...he doesn't like arum so of course he's going to talk shit about manny. you expected him to have nothing but praise and admiration for the guy?
Dude floyds a hypocrite, theirs no way around that. floyd fought De La Hoya and Cotto at 154 with out any catchweight, won 2 titles at 154 and bragged how he doesnt need any catchweight to beat a bigger fighter. now he all of a sudden he needs a catch weight to fight canelo instead of fighting at the standard weight of 154 like he's done before? pretty damn hypocritical if you ask me.

canelo is 22 and will be the biggest fighter floyd fought since oscar. shouldn't be an issue for a 22 year old kid to go down a few pounds. canelo offered to fight at 150 in hopes to get a shot at floyd and 2 years later his wish has come true. canelo going down in weight is totally different than an older cotto having to. it would be different if floyd had fought numerous catchweight fights but he hasn't.

floyd has 2 and manny 3, but floyd didn't even honor his 1st catchweight with marquez at the agreed weight of 144. he came in at 146 and just payed a fine to jmm for comming in overweight.
and canelo did offer floyd a 150 catchweight. it was 2 years ago though, canelos already getting bigger and can barely make 154 so theirs no way he can make 150 healthy now.

Floyd lost a lot of points in my mind when he never denied Pacquiao when Manny called his ass and said that Mayweather told him: "What if I lose?" when arguing about making a fight.

Big time fight. I think boxer movers give both fighters trouble, Zab gave Garcia a run for his money, Devon Alexander and Zab had some success vs Lucas in very close fights. Garcia and Lucas aren't movers so it should be a war.

Heavyweight contenders Bermane Stiverne and Cristobal Arreola will meet in a rematch for the world title vacated on Monday by Vitali Klitschko, who resigned the belt after nine defenses in order to focus on his political career in Ukraine.
The WBC on Thursday announced that it has formally ordered Stiverne-Arreola to fill the vacant title. They are the organization's top-rated contenders.
The sides were ordered to begin negotiating the fight, and if they can't come an agreement a purse bid would take place on Jan. 17 at the WBC offices in Mexico City. If there is a purse bid, the split would be 60-40 in Stiverne's favor, according to his manager, Camille Estephan.
Stiverne (23-1, 20 KOs), 35, of Canada, and Arreola (36-3, 31 KOs), 32, of Riverside, Calif., first met in Ontario, Calif., on April 27 in a final elimination bout for the right to challenge Klitschko.

Arreola cracks me up. Especially that one fight where he was crying and cussing after his loss. I think it was to a Klitschko. Dude looks like they just picked him up from a taqueria and asked him if wants to box. I think he still had salsa on his gloves during the last fight.
Should have happened 5 years ago!
Pacman already lost some strength in his punches and may have probably lost some speed too while Floyd still has his good fundamentals intact.
Not making any excuses but this is the reality of getting old and losing your athleticism vs good fundamentals.
I just hope this finally happens.

MANILA, Philippines – Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao have agreed to face each other in September, a news website reported Thursday.
Referencing a video posted on the YouTube boxing channel 78Sports TV, Latino Post reports that the fight is finally a done deal.
The video commentary, which is about 15-minute long, features the anchor quoting a source who confirmed that the fight is happening this year. The source is reportedly the same person who revealed information about Mayweather’s fights with Robert Guerrero and Saul Alvarez even before the bouts were officially announced.
"Great news in the world of boxing. He [the source] is telling me that Floyd and Manny Pacquiao will be fighting in 2014 guaranteed and it's already done," the 78Sports anchor said.
The development comes amid various reports about Mayweather’s purported disinterest in a fight with Pacquiao, which most observers believe could break existing pay-per-view records and end up as the richest bout ever.
Mayweather even came up with a series of online posts mocking Pacquiao and hinting that a megabuck duel between them is far from happening. Meanwhile, Pacquiao is reportedly flying to the US to personally talk to Mayweather about a fight.
But the 78Sports anchor, again quoting his source, insists everything is just for show.
"Everything else that you will see will be just theatrics from here on out. But the fight is already done," he added.
Pacquiao and Mayweather have scheduled their ring return in April and May, respectively, although no opponents have been named yet. The undefeated American is reportedly eyeing British Amir Khan while Pacquiao has Juan Manuel Marquez, Timothy Bradley and Ruslan Provodnikov in his radar.
Those fights will logically end up as preludes to a highly anticipated Mayweather-Pacquiao showdown.
It can be recalled that both camps tried to arrange the duel about a couple of years ago, with Mayweather insisting on an Olympic-style blood testing and at one point offering Pacquiao a flat fee of $40 million to face him.
The fight never came to fruition. Have the tides indeed changed? The world is still waiting.

Don't get too happy. They both shot it down. Chances are Manny fights Bradley. NO way Bradley wins that fight unless he knocks Manny out. Floyd will probably take on Khan, who's undeserving; or Maidana. Danny Garcia would probably be around September.

Arreola cracks me up. Especially that one fight where he was crying and cussing after his loss. I think it was to a Klitschko. Dude looks like they just picked him up from a taqueria and asked him if wants to box. I think he still had salsa on his gloves during the last fight.
He's never looked in good shape but that fight he was in against Seth Mitchell, he was pretty fit. He and Stiverne will battle for the WBC's version of the heavyweight title. GBP will try to keep that title in house with the winner probably fighting Deontay Wilder.

Deontay Wilder To Tyson Fury: Send The Contract Bitch
By Edward Chaykovsky
Reacting to weeks of insults, heavyweight contender Deontay Wilder (30-0, 30KOs) fired back with a furious response to British contender Tyson Fury (21-0, 15KOs). The talkative Brit has been taking aim at Wilder, claiming the hard puncher is ducking a potential fight. Fury recently aligned himself with promoter Frank Warren, who does have a very good relationship with Golden Boy Promotions, who handle Wilder.
"Tyson Fury, stick another tampon in your ass. Your period is mighty heavy with a strong flow. All you got to do is get Hennessy Sports to send the contact. Stop talking all this nonsense already, it's getting very old. I dare you to send that contract fat momma bitch. Oh and by the way - tell Hennessy Sports to answer the phone this time. All this talk needs to end now," Wilder fired on the social networks.

Floyd recent interview about Manny,Arum and more.
http://www.fighthype.com/mayweathernews/article15896.html
BT: I know there's been rumors about you fighting Amir Khan in May, but you also said that Maidana's name is in the mix as well. As far as I know, you still haven't made up your mind about your next opponet. Is that still the case?
FM: I am my own boss, but I still communicate with my team, Ben, and my team does have say-so. My team has to have input. Any real boss has a team, but I always do have the last say-so. I'm so motherfuckin' cold in the game, I got heavyweights calling me out. I got fighters that are so desperate to fight me, they making up fake contracts. If the Amir Khan fight presents itself, then you know what? It presents itself. Once again, Amir Khan has a good following, so if it makes business sense, then it makes money. No different from the Ricky Hatton fight; it made sense. Even like the Maidana fight; that fight makes sense. A lot of people believe in Maidana because of the Adrien Broner fight. They think since Adrien Broner has a style similar to mine, they think Maidana can crack the MayVinci Code.
BT: There's also been some rumblings about you possibly fighting in New York. Is there any chance of that happening in the near future?
FM: The MGM Grand is the mecca of boxing. No disrespect to New York City or Madison Square Garden, because it's always been one of my dreams to fight in New York City at Madison Square Garden, but when you fight at the MGM Grand, that's the mecca of boxing. You get to come out to Las Vegas and you get to go see the shows on The Strip, you get to shop late, you get to go to strip clubs. We got a very, very diverse variety of night clubs. You get to party; you get to do a little bit of everything when you come out to Las Vegas. I'm not going nowhere and fighting where everything closes at 2 AM. When you come to Las Vegas for a Mayweather fight, it's an event. You just don't know who you're going to meet at a Mayweather fight. And believe me, it's nothing but a building full of A, B, and C-listers, and all I'm doing every fight is constantly breaking my own records. Whoever I'm fighting coming up in May, I'ma pay myself whatever I want to pay myself, but you best believe it will never be under $32 million. My guarantee will never be under $32 million; never! You gotta realize, I go to other countries just to shake hands for a 6-figure check.
BT: Let's talk about the whole Pacquiao situation for a minute. Coming off of his win over Brandon Rios, people were quick to declare that's he back in top form and ready for a fight with you.
FM: They say Manny Pacquiao is back? Why? Because he beat a blown-up lightweight? I like Brandon Rios. He's got heart, but Brandon Rios is a blown-up lightweight. Pacquiao did come from a smaller weight class, but he's been at the heavier weight classes longer than Brandon Rios. At least they should've let Brandon Rios get a tune-up fight before they just let the kid just jump up to welterweight. They should've just gave him a body, a cab driver, so he could get a feel of the weight class first. Pacquiao has experience fighting at the weight.
(http://community.allhiphop.com/discussion/440987/the-official-boxing-thread/p896) BT: Can you explain why, at one point, you took the time to call him personally to try and make the fight, but now, you've made it clear that you won't be fighting him as long as Arum is still in the picture?
FM: Pacquiao had his opportunity. He had his chance. When he had his opportunity and he had his chance, I guess he was tooting his own horn and he felt like he was on the same level as me. It's obvious he felt like he was on the same level as me status-wise because he wouldn't have asked for 50/50. So now, two losses later and he's got a problem...the IRS. They don't play. I don't really personally know his business and I could care less about his business. I'm just speaking from what I hear, that he got a problem with the IRS, both here and in his country. So when I offered you $40 million, you turned it down. I offered Manny Pacquiao $40 million and he said he wanted 50/50. So now, you took two back-to-back losses, and from what I hear, I don't know for a fact, but from what I hear, you got tax problems and now you're begging to get the fight. You could care less if you win; all you want to do is fight Floyd Mayweather to clean up a tax bill basically. He's got a $68 million tax problem now. He couldn't put ten fights together and make $68 million, so now, who is he chasing? He don't need to be focused on Floyd Mayweather. He need to be focused on that tax business. I don't knock him for doing it, but all the cards are in my hand. It's not about working harder; it's about working smarter. To become pound-for-pound, I proved myself. To be 45 and 0, I proved myself. To dominate for 17 years, I proved myself. I don't have nothing else to prove to nobody else. I can retire; he can't. I just look at the situation like this, worst comes to worst, I'm still going to get at least $200 million for the rest of my contract. Let's talk facts! If he's on the same level as me, let's see his pay-per-view numbers. If he's on the same level as me, let's see his last check. They let my $41.5 million check leak. So now, let me see his check from his last fight leak. Pacquiao got IRS problems. Pacquiao got pay-per-view number problems. Pacquiao's boss name is Rob Arum. Pacquiao owes $68 million in taxes. Pacquiao's got 5 losses. He still got Timothy Bradley problems and Marquez problems. So this guy's got all these problems and he wants Floyd Mayweather to solve them for him, huh? He's got 68 million problems and he wants me to solve them. First he didn't need me; now he needs me. He's willing to do anything now after his career done took a major setback. First he wanted 50/50; now he's like, "Floyd, give me anything. Throw an old, desperate dog a bone." This man got 68 million problems. Now he wants Floyd Mayweather to solve his problems when he was just saying he's on the same level as me. He basically told me, "Fuck you! I don't need you. I don't need your $40 million. I'm getting the same type of money you getting." So if you getting the same type of money I'm getting, you don't need me. If you doing the same type of pay-per-view numbers I'm doing, you don't need me. I want to see the pay-per-view numbers. As a matter of fact, ever since he's been fighting on pay-per-view, I want to see his residual checks; the money that comes in on the backend, I want to see those checks. I don't know what their relationship is, but I'm not doing business with Rob Arum.
BT: Touch on that for a minute if you can. I know we've talked about it in the past, but why don't you want to do business with Arum? He recently came on record and said you guys have a good relationship.
FM: I don't have a good relationship with him. Why does he want to do business with a coward? When I left [Top Rank], he said something about I was scared of Antonio Margarito and all this, right? Where's he at now and where am I at? They claimed Castillo won the fight; where's he at now and where am I at? We can keep going on and on. All I gotta say is where are they at now, and where am I at? It's so crazy; I be looking at fighters like Pacquiao. I know Rob Arum gonna eat, Michael Koncz gonna eat; all of them are on a percentage basis. Guess what! Michael Kon...What's his name? Michael Con-Artist [Koncz]? Michael Con-Artist wouldn't be my manager if I was in the boxing game. What's so crazy is a long time ago, Pacquiao should have got with Al Haymon and we would've got his career together. But sometimes, they don't listen. A hard head makes a soft ass. When I gave him the opportunity to fight me, he didn't take it, and then, he was sleeping on that MGM canvas. I don't know how that feels, but he can take it every which way, if he feels more comfortable laying on his face or on his back. In life, it's about moving forwad. As far as the Rob Arum situation, I left him to become my own boss. With age comes wisdom and growth. All that would've, could've, should've; what I would've done? Yeah, when his name was holding some decent weight. This guy's numbers done dropped so heavy. He got knocked out, so he [Arum] took him to the other side of the planet to fight. Pacquiao had one of the worst knockouts in boxing history. If my fighter was knocked out like that, I'd get him out the sport, period. BE SURE TO CHECK BACK SOON FOR PART 2 OF THIS EXCLUSIVE, IN-DEPTH INTERVIEW WITH FLOYD "MONEY" MAYWEATHER [NOTE: For more on Floyd Mayweather.

WHAT'S THE TRUTH BEHIND FREDDIE ROACH, ALEX ARIZA, MANNY PACQUIAO AND THE MYSTERY DRINK?By Ben Thompson (
[email protected]) | January 14, 2014
For whatever reason, flying under the radar of several media outlets is the fact that last week, Hall of Fame trainer Freddie Roach cast his own cloud of suspicion on his star pupil, multi-division world champion Manny Pacquiao (http://www.fighthype.com/news/article15910.html). In a revealing interview with SecondsOut.com, Roach shared his opinion of former one-time friend and associate Alex Ariza, who he referred to as "shady". "I know he has a new strength coach [Alex Ariza] and I don't get along with the guy, and one of the reasons why he doesn't work for me anymore is because I think he's a little shady, you know. He used to give Manny [Pacquiao] a drink every day before we worked out and I asked him, 'What's in that drink,' and he would never tell me. And I said, 'I need to know what's in that drink because, you know, you're giving it to my fighter and if something goes wrong, I'm gonna get the blame.' In my opinion, he's a little shady," Roach commented when asked for his thoughts on the news that Brandon Rios tested positive for a banned substance following his lopsided loss to Pacquiao. What Roach may or may not have realized, however, is that his own comments now bring into question the 5-plus years that he and Ariza worked side-by-side during Pacquiao's rapid ascent through the weigh divisions, racking up dominant victories from 130 to 154 pounds over the likes of Ricky Hatton, Miguel Cotto, Oscar De La Hoya, and Antonio Margarito to name a few.
Roach first hired Ariza back in 2008. Originally, he was brought in to treat a shoulder injury prior to Pacquiao's rematch with Juan Manuel Marquez, but not long after that, he was asked to overhaul the entire training program and was officially added to the team as the new strength and conditioning coach. It didn't take long for the pairing of Roach and Ariza to produce successful results with Pacquiao, quickly moving him up two weight divisions and notching big wins over Oscar De La Hoya, Ricky Hatton, and Miguel Cotto in a 20-month timeframe. The fact that Pacquiao was so dominant against bigger opposition after jumping 3 weight classes is likely what prompted world-class trainer Floyd Mayweather Sr. to first raise his own suspicions about Pacquiao allegedly using performance-enhancing drugs during a 2009 video interview (http://www.mlive.com/mayweather/index.ssf/2009/09/video_floyd_mayweather_sr_accu.html) with Josh Slaghter of MLive.com. Those suspicions about Pacquiao were then compounded later that year as negotiations began for a mega-fight with undefeated pound-for-pound king Floyd Mayweather, who declared his intentions to clean up the sport of boxing by requiring all of his opponents to subject themselves to random blood and urine testing.
When news first broke of Mayweather's requirement for the mega-fight to take place, both Freddie Roach and Alex Ariza were a united front when it came to any accussations leveled at Manny Pacquiao regarding performance-enhancing drugs. "I know my fighter. I know he's never taken drugs and never will take drugs. I mean, I have trouble giving him vitamins for Christ's sake. I mean, he doesn't like needles; he doesn't like blood drawn," Freddie Roach commented in a video interview with Gareth A Davies of The Telegraph (http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/sportvideo/boxingandmmavideo/7146993/Freddy-Roach-reacts-to-Manny-Pacquiao-drug-allegations.html) back in February of 2010. A month after that, Roach was quick to defend Ariza, telling Michael Rosenthal of RingTV.com (http://ringtv.craveonline.com/news/123119-roach-knows-of-2-of-his-fighters-who-tested-positive-for-peds), "That's the first guy I went to...Alex is a friend of mine and he works with me. My reputation is on the line with him. He assures me 100 percent that there's nothing out there."
During that same time period, Ariza echoed Roach's statements. "For the record, I don't work for the fighter, Manny Pacquiao, Amir Khan. I work for Freddie Roach. Anything I give Manny or suggest to Manny, I would never jeopardize Freddie's trust in me or my relationship with him just for a win for any of these fighters. I wouldn't jeopardize that for any amount of money or amount of wins. I'd go under any lie detector test," Ariza explained during a separate interview (http://www.boxinginsider.com/headlines/exclusive-interview-with-manny-pacquiao-conditioning-coach-alex-ariza/) with BoxingInsider.com. "I've been working with Manny for almost two years. Do you know how hard it was for me to convince Manny to do anything I suggested? It took me so long, to go to Freddie, to show him to convince him to venture to start taking evenn multi-vitamins and protein drinks or recovery drinks. Manny never did those things before."
Of course, this was all before the two former friends and teammates had a bitter falling out that prompted Roach to fire Ariza in 2013, ending their five-year run as one of the most successful training teams in the sport. That begs the question, are these latest comments from Roach simply the matter of an ex-friend attempting to assassinate the character of Ariza, or is there really more to the story? Judging by their own statements given in past interviews, it's extremely hard to believe that, for 5 years, Freddie Roach had absolutely no knowledge whatsoever about the drinks that Alex Ariza was giving Manny Pacquiao prior to their workouts. In fact, on the contrary, Ariza made it clear that Freddie Roach had a very active role in Pacquiao's strength and conditioning program, even pointing out that Roach was far more knowledgeable about sports science than most trainers. Take a look at the following statements made by Ariza in an interview conducted in December of 2009 (http://www.boxinginsider.com/headlines/exclusive-interview-with-manny-pacquiao-conditioning-coach-alex-ariza/), shortly after Pacquiao refused to agree to random blood and urine testing:
"Freddie is involved in every aspect of this, to the nutrition, to coming up with the special exercises. Then we run them through Manny. It's very detailed. It would be irresponsible to do this on my own. Teri is phenomenal. Aundrea is a phenomenal research analyst. With Freddie, we formulated a program. A lot of hard work went into this. It's disappointing to see it's being shattered and shadowed by these steroid accusations."
"Most of it is textbook, consistent, we try to be smart and positive as a team. If I do look at changing something, Manny will still look at Freddie. I still have to get Freddie's approval. Whatever I do change, Manny will always look for that nod from Freddie. Change is not always the best thing, that's why having a trainer like Freddie is so important."
"Freddie is an out of the box trainer. If it makes sense to him, he'll try it. When I first talked to him, I was surprised how much he knew - about interval training, importance of nutrition throughout the day. He knew the basics, just not the intricate details. He knows what most trainers don't care to learn. At first there were some things I thought might not work with Manny. Freddie forced it. So we kept coming up with new stuff. He thought, if we're gonna move up weight divisions, we gotta try something new. Without Freddie, this would have never worked."
Note that this interview was conducted during the same time period that Freddie Roach and Alex Ariza were a united front in regards to allegations of PED use by Pacquiao. Given those statements, it appears that Roach was extremely involved in Pacquiao's nutritional program from the very beginning, particularly as he was moving up in weight. As both Ariza and Roach clearly pointed out in 2009, Manny Pacquiao would barely even take multi-vitamins, let alone any type of "mystery drink", so one can't help but ask just how much did Freddie Roach really know? If, as Ariza suggested in early 2010 when they were still friends, Freddie Roach was intricately involved with every aspect of the program, including the exercises and the nutrition, did he truly not know what Pacquiao was drinking prior to their workouts? Is Freddie Roach now telling us that he knew something was "shady" about Alex Ariza, but he simply adopted a "don't ask, don't tell" policy during that 5-plus years [2008-2013]?
Well, it wouldn't be the first time that Roach said he suspected one of his fighters was using performance-enhancing drugs, but turned a blind eye to it. "I won't say I didn't know," Roach freely admitted back in March of 2010 when he discussed James Toney testing positive for steroids five years prior (http://ringtv.craveonline.com/news/123119-roach-knows-of-2-of-his-fighters-who-tested-positive-for-peds). "I never asked him, though. I never had a conversation. I could see his body structure had signs, his traps and stuff. He was either lifting a lot of weight or he was on (something)." In that same interview, Roach also insinuated that he knew another one of his fighters used steroids. "I think I had one other fighter on steroids also, Justin Fortune. I know he'd been there before," Roach added. Although that second claim has gone unsubstantiated thanks to a defamation lawsuit filed by Fortune, it should be noted that in a sworn statement, Roach said Fortune admitted to him that he did indeed use performance-enhancing drugs (http://losangeles.cbslocal.com/2012/02/02/manny-pacquiaos-trainer-former-conditioning-coach-to-duke-it-out-in-court/). "During the time that I trained [Fortune], [he] told me that he had used cycled performance enhancing drugs when he was training for the World Games as a power lifter in his home country of Australia," Roach explained in the statement. "Based on the information provided me by plaintiff, I believed that (he) had used PEDs."
Now, please understand that I am NOT making a case about whether or not Manny Pacquiao knowingly or unknowingly used performance-enhancing drugs. Though in this day and age, when even seemingly clean-cut, do-no-wrong athletes like Alex Rodriguez and Lance Armstrong are getting caught in PED scandals, it can certainly also happen in boxing, a sport that is well behind the curve when it comes to strict drug testing policies. That being said, when a Hall of Fame trainer reveals that he questioned a "mystery drink" that was given to one of his most accomplished athletes for nearly 6 years, I think there's a few more questions that need to be asked. Why is Freddie Roach, all of a sudden, singing a different tune regarding Pacquiao's strength and conditioning program that both he and Alex Ariza seemingly worked so closely on? If Roach was concerned about this "mystery drink" that "shady" Ariza was giving to Pacquiao, why didn't he say something 2, 3, 4 or even 5 years ago? First he insisted that absolutely nothing was going on, but now he's saying he worked with a "shady" individual? Was he lying yesterday and telling the truth today, or was he telling the truth yesterday and lying today? Which one is it? These are some of the "tough" questions that I hope some of the investigative journalists with West Coast connections to Freddie Roach can get answers to.

Floyd MayweatherAllegedly Involved in Kidnapping & Brutal BeatingOver Missing Jewelry (http://www.tmz.com/2014/03/12/floyd-mayweather-kidnapping-brutal-beating-suspected-jewelry-heist/)3/12/2014 1:00 AM PDT BY TMZ STAFFEXCLUSIVE

Floyd Mayweather allegedly orchestrated a savage attack on two of his employees he suspected of stealing his jewelry ... TMZ has learned.
Sources familiar with the situation tell TMZ Sports ... the two men had been hired to work on Floyd's Vegas homes ... but when jewelry went missing, Floyd pointed the finger at them.
We're told the men claim they were contacted several weeks ago and instructed to meet Floyd at an off-site location.
When the men arrived, they claim Floyd was waiting for them -- along with a number of his "people" -- who proceeded to beat the living crap out of them with various weapons, including clubs.
Our sources say the attack was so brutal the men could have easily died. Both men had broken arms and legs and were hospitalized for several days.
One source put it this way, "It was some 'Breaking Bad' s**t."
We're told the men are adamant they never took anything from Floyd and it appears Floyd realizes that now. But here's the problem for the champ -- sources familiar with the situation say the attack amounts to attempted murder, mayhem and kidnapping. We're told the men have retained a lawyer.
We reached out to Floyd's people for comment -- so far, no word back.

Meanwhile, Mayweather continues to duck Pacquiao and the latest runner is Miguel Cotto from Canelo. What a coward :lol

Typical passive aggressive approach from you.
Where did I say I was upset because you weren't impressed? That was your own conclusion.
i said I was proud because Manny took punches and kept coming considering his getting ktfo against Marquez. He showed his still a fighter and not chicken shit in the ring. I never said the old manny is back. He didn't knock out Bradley, but for being old and slow, he still had him staggered a few times. How does no KO take away from the win? I personally thought is was a great fight. Much better than Canelo PBF.
I'm just not impressed with Canelos heart. Never have been. He's got all the traits of a great fighter, but when his game plan isn't working, he looks lost and doesnt pull the trigger on his punches. I knew he was gonna get his ass handed to him by PBF for that reason. He lacks that fire to leave it all out there. Maybe the loss will free him from that pressure.

bradley has no power, though...and he wasn't even landing clean punches. after the 6th round bradley was throwing haymakers and missing. canelo was going to get beat by floyd because canelo is still young and raw and floyd is the GOAT. he was going to lose no matter what. he has a lot to learn but once he gets more experience against top tier fighters, everything will work itself out for him.

I'm sorry but Bradley was landing clean hard shots throughout the fight. Yes he missed a ton and was swinging for the fences, but he still landed quite a few hard clean shots in the later rounds. To totally act like those were just pillow punches is stupid.
I understand you want to do everything you can to discredit Manny, but you sound just like the Manny stan who refuses to give PBF any credit. I have said plenty of times that May is the best fighter out there, period, and he would beat Manny. But to brush off Manny like you do is ridiculous.
If Bradley has no KO power, and Manny walked right through them, how would he fair against May who also has no KO (which you've admitted) power, when he has proven he will keep coming at you? Thats what everyone wants to find out.

Report: Mikey Garcia Sues Top Rank in California Court
by David P. Greisman
Junior lightweight titleholder Mikey Garcia has filed a lawsuit against promoter Top Rank in a California court, alleging violations of the Muhammad Ali Act and seeking to break free from his contract with the company, according to a copy of the lawsuit obtained by BadCulture.net.
The lawsuit alleges that Garcia’s contract “improperly provides Top Rank the ability to extend the agreement indefinitely, essentially rendering the contracting fighter an indentured servant of Top Rank.” The filing claims that the contract violates California law. It also claims that the promoter has also violated the United States’ Muhammad Ali Act for multiple reasons, including “by failing to make required disclosures to Garcia concerning, among other things, the amount of money it would make from each of Garcia’s bouts.”
The lawsuit was filed April 8 in Riverside Superior Court. Online court records show the case as being open, with a case management conference hearing scheduled for Oct. 6.
Garcia, who also previously held a world title at featherweight, last fought in January, outpointing Juan Carlos Burgos and moving to 34-0 with 28 KOs. A proposed fight with Yuriorkis Gamboa did not come to fruition.

ARUM'S MAYWEATHER TIRADES ARE GETTING OLD
By Lyle Fitzsimmons
Bob Arum is better at promoting fights than I am at anything I’ve ever tried.
He’s got a track record that stretches farther than my 45 years, and his contractual relationships with guys like Manny Pacquiao (http://click.hexagram.com/sw/?phrase=manny pacquiao&cat=572,580&url=http://www.ranker.com/review/manny-pacqui%c3%a1o/1511234) and Tim Bradley, among others, seem to indicate that he’ll be relevant on the sport’s top shelf for just as long as he wants to be.
But for crying out loud, he’s got to get over this Mayweather thing.
I mean, I get it. They used to work together, now they don’t. He used to say Floyd was one of the best fighters he’d ever seen, but now he’s a coward focused only on money and remaining unbeaten.
It’s a lot like commentary that could be applied to any relationship when it veers from hot to cold.
What starts out as “She’s wonderful and attractive and I hang on her every word” quickly deteriorates to “I was never that into her in the first place, I just wanted to get in good with her sister.”
Still, after a while, those principals do move on to other things.
That doesn’t seem to be the case with Bob, though.
Wherever and whenever he gets a chance, there’s either a cleverly veiled or completely outspoken shot across the Mayweather bow – and it continued well into the night on Saturday at the MGM Grand, after Pacquiao and Bradley went another 12 entertaining rounds.
This time, his rant centered on the venue’s next big welterweight match, in which Mayweather will face WBA champion Marcos Maidana to unify their 147-pound slices on May 3.
“The Mayweather fight is bad for the public, who are being talked to about spending good money on nonsense, and it’s bad for MGM, which continues to peddle non-competitive matches,” he said. “If you think it’s not competitive, write it. Don’t not write it because he’ll deny you access.”
While I thank Mr. Arum for his impromptu lecture on journalism ethics, it’s getting a little old.
Sure, Mayweather’s a big favorite to beat Maidana – a 12-1 pick according to the boys at VegasInsider.com. But given the landscape in the welterweight division in the midst of a freeze-out between the top promotional entities, exactly who else was he supposed to fight?
I’ll concede Maidana is no Pacquiao, and I’d certainly prefer a Floyd-Manny match if given the option. But in the absence of that, “Chino” is a two-division championship claimant, he has won 18 of 19 fights above 140 pounds and he did whip an unbeaten three-division champ in his most recent fight.
Mayweather did legitimately go to the next weight class to beat a younger, stronger and just as unbeaten foe in his last fight, and, short of hopping up to 160 to meet middleweights – something I don’t see PacMan doing either, by the way – his reality is that he’s left to what’s in front of him.
And just because no one who sets odds thinks he can lose at 147, whose fault is that?
Funny, but I don’t recall Arum bellowing “write it if you think it’s not competitive” from the rooftops when Pacquiao was meeting Mayweather leftover Shane Mosley, when he didn’t hold a belt and hadn’t won a fight in 28 months. Back then, in fact, he was far more promoter than ethicist, claiming a 39-year-old “Sugar” would provide Manny with “a good, interesting, really exciting fight.”
And in the intervening few years, it’s not as if Pacquiao’s been busily tilling new ground.
Since he beat Mosley in what turned out to be a colossal dud, Manny is 3-2 in five fights – including two with Bradley, two with Juan Manuel Marquez and one with Brandon Rios, which was sold as World War III, but in reality was a masterfully crafted spar session designed mainly to regain Pac’s lost luster.
Meanwhile, Mayweather is 4-0 in the same stretch, having beaten a reigning welterweight belt-holder in Victor Ortiz, two reigning super welterweight belt-holders in Alvarez and Miguel Cotto (nine pounds heavier than where Pacquiao fought him, by the way) and a former two-division champ in Robert Guerrero who hadn’t lost a fight in more than seven years, including two at 147.
When it comes to competitive/relevant matches, sorry Bob, but it’s not even close.
And if what we’re left with for Pacquiao in the future is either Marquez V or Mike Alvarado I, the chasm doesn’t get any narrower.
No matter how hard you stomp your feet from behind the podium.
^^Cant disagree with any of that.
But lets not act like Mayweather has no fault in this either. Dude ducks. It is what it is.

marquez has no interest in fighting manny for the 5th time. i'm actually kinda glad he said this cuz there is no point to fight again. he should have been credited for victories in 3/4 of the fights but we all know how that went.
By Chris Williams: Juan Manuel Marquez (55-7-1, 40 KO’s) says he has zero interested in fighting Manny Pacquiao (56-5-2, 38 KO’s) for a 5th time, as what Top Rank promoter Bob Arum is hoping for. Instead of Marquez fighting Pacquiao, he wants him to face Floyd Mayweather Jr. in order to give boxing fans the fight that they really want to see. Marquez feels that he’s had enough fights against Pacquiao, and he doesn’t want to waste time fighting him a fifth time.
Marquez is fighting Mike Alvarado (34-2, 23 KO’s) next month on May 17th in a WBO welterweight title eliminator bout at the Forum, in Inglewood, California, USA. The winner of that fight is supposed to fight for the WBO title against Pacquiao now that he’s beaten Tim Bradley.
“I think that the fans want Manny vs. Floyd, and they want to see and should do it,” Marquez said to Univision (http://deportes.univision.com/boxeo/article/2014-04-15/juan-manuel-marquez-dice-no-a-manny-pacquiao). “I already have four fights against Pacquiao, and many people prefer to see these two rivals in the ring.”
Unfortunately the chances of a Pacquiao-Mayweather fight are rather slim at this time due to the Top Rank vs. Golden Boy Promotions squabbles going on, as well as the network issues between the two cable giants. Pacquiao fights are televised on HBO, while Mayweather fights on Showtime. In other words, no Pacquiao-Mayweather fight.
If Marquez beats Alvarado, he should look to fight someone else rather than facing Pacquiao for a 5th time. It’s already time that that long rivalry ended, because Marquez has already proven that he’s the better fighter by getting the better of Pacquiao in their four fights. Marquez arguably won all four of the fights regardless of how the judges scored the first three fights. Marquez has nothing to prove by fighting Pacquiao again, because he’s already proven that he’s better than him four times.
Marquez recently chose not to fight WBO light welterweight champion Ruslan Provodnikov for his title, because he had already held that title. Marquez didn’t want to take his career backwards by fighting for the same title that he had recently given up. It would be the same thing with Marquez if he were to fight Pacquiao. He already beat him four times, and there’s no point in him beating him a 5th time.
It would be like going back to the 6th grade five times to see how much better you can do against the younger students. Marquez is already conquered Pacquiao and graduated from that test. If Marquez is going to continue his career then he needs to fight the best – Mayweather or Marcos Maidana.

Seven rounds to give for Floyd. It could have gone from 116-112 for either fighter. I think what got a Floyd over the top was the accuracy. Chino missed 3/4 of his punches while throwing 858. Floyd landed nine more while throwing 400 less. Didn't agree with the 117-111 score.

I can agree with that. But I can also see that Floyd and Schaefer don't wanna deal with Arum. If Manny doesn't sign his extension, which I think he will do, then Floyd would have no excuses. If that was his excuse from jump, then I'd go with his reasoning. Funny thing is Oscar is looking at his stable and finding out that a lot of the fighters that fight on his cards are Al Haymon fighters. Top Rank and GBP both have to fix their own homes before they can work together.

Who ya got for the heavyweight title, tbh?..I saw Arreola at the Thurman-Maidana card and he looked in good shape. Looked really fit. Clothes were kinda falling off him and he weighed in under 240. He said he wants to break Stiverne's nose and get even. It's a tough call but I wanna roll with Arreola but Stiverne has that sneaky power even for a heavyweight. It's all mental for Arreola. I saw him live when he had Seth Mitchell falling all over the place last summer but I think Stiverne is a different animal. Even though Chris is a so-Cal boy, and we talked for a while at the fights, I gotta roll with Stiverne. Something about him just says "I'm not only hungry, I'm starving and greedy."

Yup..I've always had the idea that the higher the weight class, the more susceptible to fights ending in KO or TKO's..those are some big boys, tbh..I might be the only one with that opinion and it be argued for or against..

should be be a good fight but could also be pretty boring as Wilder is kinda like a one punch bomber. Jab has really improved but really nothing on his résumé says I should be the heavyweight champ unless you count Malik "I like to jab 900 times" Scott.
I dont think Stiverne has been really tested either. Arreola really lacks the technical skills and one thing I think we can say is Stiverne will test Wilder's chin and vice versa. Stiverne might have to take some shots just to get close to Wilder I saw Wilder live in Palm Springs when he KO'd some dude and made him quiver on the floor and also "heard" him knock some dude out at the Sports Arena. Some chick stood up in front of me when he threw the shot and all you heard was the glove crushing the other cat's face in. Can't teach that power. I'll roll with Wilder but if I'm Stiverne, I take him to the deep end (rounds 8-12) and see if he can swim.

SOG really has to get his career back on track. His name is big enough where he could do well as a free agent. He should just fight out his contract and go from there. His problem was the Super Six. Once he cleaned out 168, he was pretty much stuck in the Pacific on a raft. That's probably why he fought Dawson. Maybe one more fight with Froch and maybe move up to 175.

We are pleased that together with our partners at HBO we will continue presenting to the public fights of the great Manny Pacquiao through the end of 2016," Arum said.
The partnership among Manny, Top Rank, MP Promotions and HBO has been a wonderful one for all parties and for the public and it's great that is will continue for the years to come," Arum said.

Algeri's eye was straight up ugly ruslan maybe should have won but Algeri showed serious heart and used that jab. Now Arum might wanna set up Manny vs Algeri in the fall. Ugly.
Good fight last night. First time I've ever seen Canelo hunt as much as he did and let his hands go doing so knowing the risks. His early stardom was somewhat overhyped, but he slowly becoming a next level fighter, not necessarily skill wise, but willingness to exchange with the toughness to match it. I said before the fight he was way in over his head against Floyd, but it might have taught him a lesson about waiting for THAT moment all night. You have to go make it happen.
Don't understand the "being robbed" outcry when Lara was backpedaling the entire fight. Sure he made Canelo look silly a fews times with wild misses, but he never threw more than the occasional one-two counter. It was gettting boring watching his run around all fight without enough counter punching.

Think he (Lara) was still using that amateur style but it depends on who you ask and what they like to see. Some judges like the aggressor. Some like the boxer who moves. It was a close fight but no way was it 117-111. That's just crazy. I needed to see that Lara from the Angulo fight. Canelo is clearly a better defensive fight while Angulo is a walking heavy bag.
Nothing left eft for Canelo at 154. Look for him to move up to 160 and face Cotto in May on possibly Cinco de Mayo weekend.

yeah. I think if you're the champ at 160, you should be fighting at 160. If GGG gets by Geale, who is not a push over, it should be manditory that his title unification shot at 160 be in 2015. I think GBP is having Quillen hold that title for Canelo as well.

Problem is he's fighting suspect comp because the best in the division don't wanna face him. All the title holders are going the other way. He wants to clean out 160 and then move up. Team Cotto wasn't gonna fight him at the end of the year because it would jeopardize his mega fight with Canelo, who are top five PPV draws. Oscar talked about Quillen and GGG fighting but Showtime vs HBO may hold that up.
He could fight 11 loss Sam Soliman and gank that IBF belt from him. He could go up in weight and fight Andre Ward but Ward is having promotional problems and can't draw flies to shit. There's a reason he fight in Oakland all the time. If he is gonna move up, he'd probably fight Froxh or Chavez Jr. for big money. So Golovkin is in a real shitty spot.

cotto's fighting Canelo for that check. He should be fighting Golovkin if he wants to be called the best 160er in boxing. But I can see him going after Canelo and getting paid. Plus Roach would try to get GGG to come down to 154 to fight Cotto.

i don't like to use great often but that was a great five rounds and the knockdowns were funny as shit. Imam looked good sans getting caught with that straight left from Maldonado. Dude just couldn't keep his composure and I though it was a good enough stoppage by Byrd. Three good refs on those fights last night (Bayless, Byrd and Weeks)
wilder was was nice with that stiff ass jab too. Still needs work but he looks good. I'd give him three more fights before klitschko.

Yeah Imam was clearly the better, more composed, disciplined fighter who was eventually gonna get the best Maldonado. But props to Maldonado for making it a tough for the rounds it lasted. That haymaker that floored imam to start the 3rd was awesome. Definitely an exciting fight.
Wilders jab was doing work. Stiverne was eating it all night. The jab was touching but not really doing too much damage so stiverne kept coming walking into it. It was the times wilder through the straight behind the jab that did the most damage. And wilder stayed disciplined not falling into the baiting on the ropes from stiverne.
Wilder proved he's got talent, but you're right, sonething is still raw about him. He needs a few more fights before going after Klitschko.

Fast Affiliate Ratings: These first national ratings, including demographics, are available at approximately 11 AM (ET) the day after telecast, and are released to subscribing customers daily. These data, from the National People Meter sample, are strictly time-period information, based on the normal broadcast network feed, and include all programming on the affiliated stations, sometimes including network programming, sometimes not. The figures may include stations that did not air the entire network feed, as well as local news breaks or cutaways for local coverage or other programming. Fast Affiliate ratings are not as useful for live programs and are likely to differ significantly from the final results, because the data reflect normal broadcast feed patterns. For example, with a World Series (http://tvbythenumbers.com/tag/world-series-ratings)game, Fast Affiliate Ratings would include whatever aired from 8-11PM on affiliates in the Pacific Time Zone, following the live football game, but not game coverage that begins at 5PM PT. The same would be true of Presidential debates as well as live award shows and breaking news reports.
Rating: Estimated percentage of the universe of TV households (or other specified group) tuned to a program in the average minute. Ratings are expressed as a percent.
Share (of Audience): The percent of households (or persons) using television who are tuned to a specific program, station or network in a specific area at a specific time. (See also, Rating, which represents tuning or viewing as a percent of the entire population being measured.)
Time Shifted Viewing – Program ratings for national sources are produced in three streams of data – Live, Live+Same Day (Live+SD) and Live+7 Day. Time shifted figures account for incremental viewing that takes place with DVRs. Live+Same Day (Live+SD) include viewing during the same broadcast day as the original telecast, with a cut-off of 3:00AM local time when meters transmit daily viewing to Nielsen for processing. Live+7 Day ratings include incremental viewing that takes place during the 7 days following a telecast.

If you put on a good card, people will watch. I woulda had Molina fight someone that suits him. Another brawler. And put Brpner in there with someone who would test his skill level. Maybe a Garcia or Peterson. But he couldn't to that with them fighting one another next month. Look for your boy at the March 13th fight in Ontario. Berto, Porter card. Also Kovalev ad Pascal the night after. Hope Kovalev don't get robbed in Canada.

the ref saved Kovalev from murder charges. Pascal was game though. showed big heart but he was stumbling around my he had just hit that moonshine. Berto looked decent. Thought Caiz, Jr., who's normally a good young ref, may have stopped it a little too early. Arreola is done.

Quillen Allen was like snipers just waiting to land the sharp shots. Not a lot of action, but a lot of tension. Like a cats stare down. Draw was right call.
Peterson Garcia was two fights in one. Peterson keeping distance early / dancing around early, but flip the script hard in the later rounds. Garcia was lucky to get away with that win. Don't think he served it.

If you can neutralize Danny Garcia's left hook he's a pretty average fighter. Have no idea how he's still undefeated. He'll get worked at 147 soon enough.

just hated that the cut was above the eye. They were trading serious shots and you need a gun in order to stop Provo.

though Garcia won that fight because of the early rounds. It was like that Bradley Provo fight. When they fought, Peterson dominated. When he stepped back and danced, Garcia, who didn't do nothing, was given the rounds because Peyerson really did less. I was pissed because when Pete walked him down, it was easy work. Should have done that earlier. He probably would have gotten him outta there by round ten.

squeaked by Matthysse. Was actually get worked until Matthysse's eye got pregnant. Khan was up in him until that glass jaw got kissed. And Pete just walked him down too late. If he had done it in round four instead of round eight, Garcia woulda been done. I blame that corner.

haha, in no way was garcia "getting worked by mattysse". What fight were you watching. I picked garcia to beat mattysse because he does great with guys that stand in front of him(provodnikov, peterson). You don't stand in front of him like a rock em sock em robot, he struggles. Mattyse was walking garcia down, but the problem is, he was getting countered. The game of boxing is to hit and not get hit. Arturo Gatti type of fights are for the non boxing fans. Casual fans. Bandwagon fans. Tagalongs that watch maybe 2 or 3 mega fights a year. I love a good boxing match. Now I aint into Chris byrd in his later years type of stuff, but Chris Byrd during his TNF and BAD days was an interesting guy.

Until Matthysse got his eye swollen by a freak accident he was ahead on everybody's cards and was probably going to win the fight, I think that's what Ashy Larry is trying to say by "getting worked", tbh.

beaitng another feather fisted opponent that couldn't crack an egg while running until he was caught. After the fight, he continues to call out alvarez and cotto, but avoided Andre Ward like he's herpes. Ward would shut Golovkin out before stopping him.

Golovkin and Ward are avoiding each other for the same reason: Their fight wouldn't generate enough money to risk their records on. Ward already scoffed at the matchup because the money isn't there (said something about it not being a pay per view fight). Besides, he hasn't fought with anyone but his management for over a year. He's gonna fight a tomato can in a couple of months so at least he's active again. One would think they'll have to meet by summer of next year, but this is boxing, so someone will probably find a way to fuck it up.
I think it would be a great fight. I'd love to see Golovkin against someone who is capable of defending himself, and there aren't very many better at that than Andre.

did you say the same thing about SOG after he cleaned out 168? Dude's been at 168 since 2004 (11 years). I mean Hopkins said it best. Before you do move up, completely clean out your division. Ward has had that chance with the Super Six. Golovkin has not. Quillin is safe because of Uncle Al Haymon. Cotto is trying to get big checks and fighting at catch weights. Top 160ers aren't gonna fight this dude. Roach already said he'll try to drain GGG to 55-56 if he fights Cotto for a title limit at 160.
Problem with a fight with Golovkin is Ward would want the big piece of the pie and he's not a draw. Love the dude but there's a reason why all his fights are in Oakland and Indian Casinos. Hell, even the Finals of the Super Six tourney wasn't held in New York at the Garden but at the Boardwalk Hall in Jersey. GGG is selling out wherever he goes even when he's fighting pillow hand opponents. If they fight, SOG can't be the A side.
As as far as stopping Golovkin, lol. SOG has stopped one guy in his last seven fights and Chad Dawson was made to go from 175 to 168 because SOG was the A side. We've seen what a wreck Dawson has been lately. If they met, I'd go with Ward but it's going 12. SOG only have 14 KOs out of 27 fights.

no. After one of GGG's previous fights, ward said he would meet him, someone relayed the message, and GGG has not called him out since. That fight would be EASY. He'd pick him apart and stop him. Did you see the fight this past saturday? Surely you believe ward is better defensively and hits a hell of a lot harder than Monroe. While being more accurate. He's gonna continue to clean out the feather fisted comp at 160 though.

I appreciate that you're confident, but the quote I gave you was accurate, and there's a report that Golovkin's camp has actually called out Ward for a fight more recently than that. You can research and counter with competing reports, which is the point: Boxers are self-promoters and liars, so you can never tell for sure what's going on because everyone is making their own version of the story. I've followed boxing for enough years to know that if they aren't getting a fight together, it's because of money vs risk.
I'll reiterate my best guess: Ward's inactivity is the reason he's not getting that fight this year, because the powers in the divisions have already scheduled for the next half a year and he's odd man out. He wasn't going to take a big fight without a tuneup anyway, so blustering about someone ducking him is nonsense. Golovkin's increased popularity has suddenly made that an attractive fight for a guy who hasn't fought in over a year, and made the same fight less attractive for GGG. Not really a surprise.
None of this has to do with how good or bad I think the fighters are, and I think Ward is excellent. Yes, I saw the fight, and Golovkin's defense looked really good until Monroe started to stand in the middle and throw with him. Don't know if that was loss of focus or a legitimate problem going forward, but he got marked up by a guy that didn't have a lot of bad intentions on the end of his punches. Ward is a great boxer, but I can't say for sure that he has more punching power than Monroe. He's not exactly known for knocking guys out. He's a bit bigger than GGG, but I don't know that it's a big enough difference for him to suddenly have dangerous power.
If Ward believed it was as easy a fight as you do, he'd been in favor of it over a year ago when there might have been a chance to set it up. This is his second long layoff, and he's gonna need to do something more than talk to get himself back into the big-money fights.

did you see the interview saturday when Max mentioned Ward how soft spoken GGG got? I thought for sure boxing fans(and i use that term loosley) would have learned their lesson after 2 weeks ago. GGG is being propped up in the ring against guys that can't hurt him and that he can walk thru to get the easy knockouts. That Monroe fight went exactly as I called it. He was gonna have a plan until he felt that power and then he was gonna run until the ko happened. What shocked me is that he actually stood and fought for a few rounds before the ko but he coulnd't hurt GGG , but he had him tired. If you don't believe Ward has more power and accuracy than Monroe, then our conversation is pointless. Ward has fought fighters like GGG(better fighters), ggg has NEVER fought anyone like ward. GGG is edison miranda with a better chin.

:blah Even if you had never seen Monroe fight(and I had), the fact he had 6 kos in 19 fights should have told you SOMETHING!! Like Chris Algeri. He's now the official punching bag of the welterweight division. Guys will be using him as tune up fights for bigger events just because he got a bs decision against Provodnikov.

pretty much on point. Why in the hell would he fight a guy who barely fills up seats and would want the lion share of the money? That's crazy and bad business if you're Golovkin when it comes to a fight with Ward. As far as GGG's defense, sitting there live, my boy leaned over and said, he doesn't fear his power. First round, plenty of head movement. Second round, felt him, dropped him, then walked him down. He's not gonna go into a fight with Ward using the same tactics.

edison Miranda? You mean the guy who went 12 with SOG but doesn't have a better chin than GGG, yet, Ward is gonna stop Golovkin? Riiiiiiight. once again, did you give the same venom to SOG once he cleaned out 168 but still in the same division for 11 years now? Boxing is a big business. You're not gonna train two month, bring 12,000 people to an arena so you can give someone who's barely drawing five thousand the majority of the money. That makes zero sense.
here are are his options. Fight Cotto in New York. Huge buzz. Big money.
Fight Canelo somehwere close to The Mexican border. Huge buzz. Big money.
Or fight SOG in California, decent money. Funny thing about that is GGG draws more in Ward's own state.

I don't think ward would stop ggg off his chin, but stamina. sorta like how ali ko'd foreman. Foreman was exhausted. By the 4th round saturday, GGG was tired as if he had worked an 8 hour day. I aint denying that GGG draws more than ward. I aint denying that he has bigger money options, but saying that Ward is ducking GGG is laughable. The only person ducking him in cotto who I feel GGG would ko with ease.
As for ward staying n the same division, hopkins statyed at mw for 16 years after his debut at 175. Hagler was 160 his whole career. Ward would make golovkin look stupid with ease. HBO has a way with fooling the public that their fighters are dominant while putting them in with overmatched opponents. We've seen it 2 weeks in a row with alvarez and ggg and we'll be seeing it soon with Cotto/Geale.
Ashy Larry

So if Hopkins has been a 160er for damn near ever and Ward has been a 168er for 11 years, why can't Golovkin be a 160er for the same amount of time? Hopkins stayed at 160 because 160 was loaded and 154 was loaded. Really good competition for him at that time and the money was right because Oscar was coming. And those who are saying Ward is ducking Golovkin don't know anything. Ego and dollars will keep that fight from happening.
And its not like Golovkin is fighting comp. Macklin, Geale, Stevens and Murray were/are all ten 160ers when they face Golovkin. It's not dude's fault the man who beat the man who beat the man who beat the man won't get in the ring with him. Hell, he beat Rubio for a WBC Interim belt just to unify the titles. Something Ward, Hopkins and Hagler all got to do.

GGG can be a mw for the rest of his career, i dont' have a problem with it, i just got a problem with calling someone out, when that person responds to u adn ACCEPTS YOUR CHALLENGE(and we all saw it live on hbo), then you sign on to fight more feather fisted competition and continue to call out jms. That's my problem. He can clean out 160 and i aint got a problem with it, but don't call someone out and when they accept your challenge, you back away from it. Sorta like how GGG's camp are talking about Kovalev is afraid of GGG. If they want to make that fight happen, it can be made. His camp and fans are full of shit. Understand where i'm coming from? He can retire at 160 and that's not a knock on him from me, just stop calling mfs out for attentin knowing damn well you don't want to get in the ring with them. Mayweather did the same thing with Wright. When they were being interviewed after a fight on hbo, floyd said he'd like to move up and fight wright. Wright was sitting beside him and accepted the challenge, floyd said nothing else about it.
