Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. vs Peter Manfredo
Cotto's team ought to make sure that Margarito doesn't have any hand wraps or else:

I used to hate Cotto when he was young and up and coming because he seemed unstoppable, and well because he looks like an asshole.
However after that "face-off" I kind of respect the dude... I don't know about all that hand wrap shit, but it looks like he hasn't been hit that hard in the head..
To explain Margarito's thoughts.. IMO, Mexicans are raised very, very, proud.. so to say I would die in the ring, it's pretty much telling the rest of the world and well especially Mexicans.. that he's going to do everything he can to get another KO..
That's just the way it is, pride sometimes goes ahead of kids when it comes to this sport :lol

Abner Mares vs Joseph Abeko 2 (which is the finals of the bantam weight tourney)
Highlights from the first fight:

Both should be very good fights, I think Cotto can hang on and win a pretty tough fight and I'm picking Agbeko over Mares.
Their first fight was fixed, and this is coming from someone who was rooting for Mares. Mares hit Agbeko with at least 10 blatant low blows, everything was going against Agbeko, it was one of the worst ref. jobs I've ever seen.

I was thinking this too, but after so many pushes and pushing his head down I wanted the fucker to lose :lol
You shouldn't get special treatment because you're the champ, he didn't get robbed, if his dumbass wouldn't have pushed he might've won it, and I say might have because he NEEDED to push him, Peterson figured out how to beat Khan, and if you can take his hits you should be able to win...
Khan needs room to operate and to come in and use his speed, his opponents for the most part usually try to get away from that and that's when he catches them, Peterson figured it out on the 2nd and 3rd rounds that all he needed to do is take that space away and it worked wonderfully..
Khan got fraustrated and started pushing him back as he came in, and pushing his head down as he was trying to come in and combo, he was outworked and I think Peterson deserved to win.

There was nothing wrong with his gloves. He doesn't have to weigh them. As far as the drug testing that's all on the commission. Texas Commission is one of the worst.

Andrew Golota faces deportation
CHICAGO -- Retired heavyweight Andrew Golota could be deported from the United States to his native Poland.
The 44-year-old boxer's case is in court and his wife, Mariola Golota, told The Chicago Tribune (http://trib.in/MLnRwV) that a decision is expected in September.
Golota was a title contender with bouts against Mike Tyson (2000) and two against Riddick Bowe in 1996 that ended in disqualifications for throwing low blows. He also won a bronze medal at the 1988 Olympics.
Golota lives in the Chicago suburb of Northbrook as a legal permanent resident of the U.S., but a criminal background check was triggered when he filed paperwork to become an American citizen.
Golota pleaded guilty in a 2006 Cook County case involving a dozen firearms found in his home. Golota's firearm owner's identification card was temporarily revoked at the time. He also pleaded guilty in Will County in 2003 to impersonating a police officer. Golota was accused of flashing an honorary New Jersey police badge when he was pulled over in the Chicago suburbs.
Mariola Golota said the deportation case is "this big, black cloud that's hanging over our family." An attorney and U.S. citizen, she said her husband is treated more harshly because of his celebrity.
"I'm just hopeful that it's going to turn out OK. It's kind of out of your hands," Mariola Golota said. "Andrew paid dearly for whatever he did. You pay once when you plead guilty and then you pay again, and that's much harsher."
Since his retirement, Golota has appeared in a commercial for the U.S. Census Bureau and on Poland's version of "Dancing With the Stars."

Cruiserweight contender Antonio Tarver tested positive for the anabolic steroid drostanolone in a pre-fight urine test conducted by the California State Athletic Commission for his June 2 fight with Lateef Kayode, Steve Feder, Kayode's manager, told ESPN.com on Friday.
Tarver, the former light heavyweight world champion, fought Kayode to a 12-round draw at the Home Depot Center in Carson, Calif., in a the main event of a Showtime-televised quadrupleheader.
"That is correct. Mr. Tarver tested positive for a banned substance," George Dodd, the executive officer of the California commission, told ESPN.com.

In Argentina we're getting the Showtime undercard (because of Maidana) and the Martinez/Chavez fight all in the same channel for free and if they don't collide we might get the Canelo/Lopez fight too.
Sometimes it pays to be third World country resident. :lol
You watching T&C sports? in UY they're showing some BS football show...

There's another reason that I'm not rooting for Chavez, he doesn't train like a professional, he doesn't listen to his trainers and he wasn't listening to Roach that time, it's disgusting to see, especially coming from a Mexican fighter. The fame that his dad gave him has gotten to him... he needs to lose this fight to get his shit together, as of right now Canelo is Mexico's favorite fighter for a reason.

Hatton was done after that classic Manny KO .... I often go back to that fight and always look for the clip from the back of Hatton's dome and watch the vibrations from that punch on the back of his melon. Dude's signature win was probably against Tsyzu, who was on his way out anyways. He shares the same name as Tommy Hearns and they both were awful in the biggest of the big fights (Hearns vs Leonard I and Hagler) (Hatton vs Floyd and Manny).

Oscar De La Hoya thought Bob Arum’s excuses were comical for him not allowing his fighter Manny Pacquiao (http://www.boxingnews24.com/a/boxing/manny-pacquiao/) to fight Floyd Mayweather (http://www.boxingnews24.com/a/boxing/floyd-mayweather-jr/) Jr. on May 5th. I’m not sure if Arum is aware how bad his excuses are making him and Pacquiao look, but he really needs to quiet down because he’s making look obvious that he doesn’t want to see Pacquiao in a risky fight where the outcome might be bad for him.
De La Hoya said this on his twitter page: “Hahaha. That’s another funny excuse from Bob Arum “Cuts not healed” or “Not enough time for an outdoor arena. Let’s play the excuse game.”
De La Hoya obviously knows the sport and is aware that it doesn’t take over six months for a cut to heal. On Friday, Arum said he couldn’t put Pacquiao back in the ring by May 5th to fight Mayweather because Pacquiao’s cut from November might not be properly healed by then. On May 5th, it will have been six months since Pacquiao’s fight with Juan Manuel Marquez (http://www.boxingnews24.com/a/boxing/juan-manuel-marquez/), which is plenty of time for the cut to heal.
Arum also made the excuse that he can’t put Pacquiao in with Mayweather on May 5th because he wants to have a bigger arena in Vegas put together and that can’t happen by May 5th. It just sounded so flimsy the excuses Arum was making. I know he was being interviewed and some of the questions were catching him by surprise but he should have had some gems stored up from his past years of not matching Pacquiao up with Mayweather. Arum should have the excuses well memorized by now, don’t you think?

UntillMayweather has the balls to fight Pacheory'andhypothetical fights in your head are all bitcass fantasies.[/QUOT
Great unbiased analysis ... You are my hero. Your use of bitchass and emo rebuttal is legendary. It's like a lil kid who has his childhood hero defeated.... Pac got put 2 sleep, by a fighter lessor than PBF. Doesn't guarantee he beats Manny but even the biggest hater would bet on Floyd if they fought if their life depends on it. Stop being emotional, look at a tape of the last 3 fights for both. No rational boxing fan takes Pac ...you can say Floyd ducked which may be true doesn't meant that PBF won't still tap dat ass. I'm a fan of his skill, never said he was the warrior Pac is ... But none of that matters Floyd's speed defense and counterpunching does.

Money Mayweather speakin the truth
"Things happen. You live and you learn. The only thing he can do is rejuvenate himself and bounce back like a true champion," stated undefeated pound-for-pound champion Floyd Mayweather, who shared his thoughts on
Manny Pacquiao (http://www.fighthype.com/news/article13717.html#)'s shocking 6th round knockout loss at the hands of Juan Manuel Marquez. Although he has yet to actually see the fight, Mayweather praised the performances of both fighters and offered some words of advice for the 8-division world champion.
"Marquez is a true champion, Manny Pacquiao is a true champion, both of them went out there and put on a good performance, and that's a good thing for the sport of boxing," Mayweather commented. "I wish Pacquiao nothing but the best. I wish that he can bounce back and he can recoup from this. In the sport of boxing, you have to really dedicate yourself to your craft. You have to really, really dedicate yourself to your craft. I think he's got so many different things on the outside that he worries about, you know. But it was a good thing that he was able to come into the sport, you know, piggyback off my name, and get a bunch of endorsement deals and make a good living. That's a great thing."
As far as the mega-fight with the Filipino icon is concerned, Mayweather suggests the manner in which Pacquiao was knocked out probably means he has a lot more to think about, and a long way to go, before that fight is ever a possibility again. "Pacquiao's focus should be trying to take a vacation, get his mind right, and get a few tune-up fights so he can bounce back," he explained. "I'm not here to talk bad about Pacquiao. I feel bad for him, honestly. I really feel bad for him. There's a difference in the ways you can get knocked out. See, when a guy gets knocked out and he can get up, they sit him on his stool, they rub his back, he go home and ice himself, you know, he go to the hospital and get checked out and he's okay, that's one thing. But when you gotta wake a guy up with smelling salt and he got a concussion and he gotta go to the hospital over night, that's crucial. I mean, that's close to the death."
Mayweather added, "Hopefully he's okay. My prayers (http://www.fighthype.com/news/article13717.html#) go out to the Pacquiao family. I know he loves the sport of boxing, so hopefully he can bounce back."

Whats the next big fight anyways?
Again props to JJM, he's a true warrior and deserves all his praises for his perseverance, but he did not dominate this fight. PAC was winning the fight and had JJM on the ropes after he had been knocked down the first time. Hadn't seen that fire from him in a long time. He just got careless for a moment and got caught with the perfect punch.
I just hope Manny finds a way to redeem himself from this one.

This should not be overlooked. Looking at the replay I thought it was unusual how Manny steps into Marquez's punch without even attempting to move. He just stood there. Pac is a movement fighter always has been always was, to get knocked out like that seemed odd. That's because Marquez stepped on Pac's foot shifting his movement unnaturally.
I'm not saying this was intentional or not, but this definitely shouldn't be overlooked like this.

whether pacman was juicing is irrelevant regarding how much of a bitch Floyd is
a real boxer who wants to be P4P best is not afraid to face anyone. regardless of the rumors. It's obvious prettybitch Floyd just wants to hold his record intact. He will go through great lengths for the record. that is his own demise as a champ. He is a champ on paper, but will never go down in history as one of the P4P best

Margacheato - Arum fighter. Same with Cotto. Once he paid Arum almost 800K to get out of his contract, you honestly think he would fight any Top Rank fighters? I mean, they tried to give him eight million to fight Margarito, who was a flawed fighter sans the loaded gloves. We seen how his career went after Richardson found the bricks in his gloves. Dude made that fighting Baldomir and then 25 million fighting Oscar. You lose Arum. Soon as Cotto left Arum, he fought him in Cotto's weight class - 154.
Vernon Forrest ...... lol ...... Forrest was two or three divisions higher than Floyd. When Vernon was at 147, Floyd was fighting at 126 and 130. And when Floyd did eventually get to 140, Vernon went to 154.
Mosley was the one who made the huge jump to fight boxing's cash cow De La Hoya by going from 135 to 147 to get that payday. That's when Floyd was fighting Corrales and Castillo twice at 130 and 135. Nice payday for Mosley but it caught up with him because while at 147, dude had a record of 1-4 and a no contest in six fights. This happening while Arum has Floyd fighting Chop Chop Corley, Victorino Sosa and whomever the fuck Henry Bruseles is. But isn't it ironic that when Shane destroys the most feared man in boxing, Margacheato, then fights Floyd, he's considered old?
Now Paul Williams, I can agree with you on. He was promoted by the Goosen-Tutor. While he was fluttering around and making Hatton come up from 140 and taking damn near two years off, he could have been squaring it up with Williams.
As far as Manny goes, it was both sides, not just Floyd. From Floyd's drug test demands and not taking any of the PPV revenue to Arum's Manny needs 7 months for cuts to heal, both parties fucked up that fight.
As far as Martinez goes, they'd have to meat at a catch weight. Prolly 154 but I don't see Floyd fighting Martinez. If everything goes to plan, he'll beat The Ghost in May and fight Canelo Alvarez in September.

As for Manny, you're right, it was both ways but at first Manny was willing to fight him then Floyd threw steroid allegations. That was the ultimate bitch move in boxing history. Finally when Manny agrees to the drug testing he wants 80-20%...Floyd is a pussy and always has been. Not because he will lose but because he doesnt want to fight a challenging opponent.

My focus is primarily on Paul Williams who I felt would have CHALLENGED Floyd, and Manny Pacquaio. I'm not sure if you're an old school fan of boxing, fans of guys like Leonard, Hagler, etc but those guys HAD TO FIGHT EACHOTHER. It was their nasty competitive nature. It seems like most boxers still have that today, but Floyd is a rare exception.
He just does not possess that quality to want to fight with the best of them because he knows it will SHORTEN his career and DECREASE the amount of $ he will eventually make. He will fight Guerrero now...take another year off...fight Timothy Bradley...take a year off. But eventually, 1 of these guys is going to pull an upset. Especially given the fact he looked sub par against Cotto and Cotto is a shell of himself, and also because Floyd signed a 6 fight contract which means hes going to be fighting at this rate for a LOOOONG TIME.

with Hagler, Hearns, Leonard and Duran, they made multiples fights and everyone of them were pretty damn good. Hell, Leonard and Duran fought twice is six months. And it's true, you don't see that anymore in boxing but the sport is starting to make a comeback. Also the purses weren't the same size as they are now and fighters are much smarter. They go in the ring and take the beating while the promoter don't get touched and leave with fat pockets, see Mike, Ali and Don King. Williams definitely could have challenged Floyd. Don't know if he would have beaten him but he damn sure would have pressured him and won rounds primarily because he would have been the busier fighter. And that six fight deal will probably take him up to 39 and he'll call it quits.
Some may think it's cowardice but when you look at it, it's great business.
Good fight on HBO (non-PPV) right now.

i had the bradley-prodvodnikov fight 114-113 bradley. Once he boxed and stop trying to prove that his Manny win wasn't a fluke, he pretty much controlled the fight. Ruslan could have taken him out four different times and couldn't get it done. Totally unexpected from a Bradley fight.

If boxing is all about drawing people to see you fight, Rigo is going to starve with his walking instead of engaging. Donaire was clearly unprepared and fat. I'm on the fence with Canelo. I like the kid, but some reason the dude just does not impress me. He seems to lack killer instinct and I've yet to seen him really let his hands go. He too conservative. He reminds me of Mack browns offense. So many weapons, but just refuses to let the offense explode. Likes to keeps everything over controlled.
Mayweather would kill this kid right now, or it would be the lamest fight ever because nobody would through a punch.

Floyd's overrated, been overrated, will always be overrated. Doesn't mean I dont think he's a defensive genius and a great boxer. But his competition since he got into 147 has been super weak. Still, you must give him credit, he has learned to mimic the sport so he can fight easier fights and make the same amount of money instead of having to fight dangerous fights.
Most Mayweather fanboys always say Mayweather would have beaten Manny anyway, as well as Margarito in his prime, Paul Williams in his day, etc etc. The thing is, yes I would bet my money on Mayweather to beat all those guys, but if he fought all those guys in their time he would have rapidly deteriorated at this point in his career and someone would have KO'd him. So I guess the only thing that impresses me is how he stayed on top of the sport while avoiding all the top competition in their prime.

lol floyd what a hypocrite this bitch nigga is huh...fighting canelo at a catchweight of 152 instead of the 154 limit...for years floyd talked shit about manny for fighting a few catchweight fights ,saying manny weakens and drains fighters before fighting them, lol he even called cotto an undefeatd fighter before he fought him saying that "that wasnt the real miguel cotto pac fought he was drained"..hell he even brags about how he likes to fight fighters at their natural weight where they're healthy and strong...so in floyds own words canelo will be drained cause of the catchweight and even if he beats canelo it won't count because he fought him at a catch weight ? lol floyd making himself look stupid per par...

hahahaha
right now, canelo>>>>>>manny.
but at this point the floyd haters will still find a way to call him a coward and diminish his impact to the sport. if he wins, but he didn't fight manny!!! if he loses, told you he was overrated!!! floyd has fought some GREAT fighters, he was older than almost all of those fighters as well.
anyways, this is going to be a dope fight. much much much better than bradley vs pacquio, but floyd's defense is amazing and he has too much speed for canelo. floyd will win by decision as usual.

who is really at a disadvantage? the 36 yr old or the 22-23 year old?
didn't danelo's team ask for 150 some time ago?
lol @ blaming floyd for agreeing to 152. nigga is fighting someone 30 pounds heavier and people are still gonna bitch.

and floyd should make canelo come down to 147. manny made his opponents fight him at 154 but wouldn't allow them to come into the fight above 150. floyd doesn't have that stipulation and canelo is going to come into the fight 15-25 pounds heavier. can't compare the two, doggie.

Floyd origanally wanted the fight at 147 according to canelo's trainer. The 147 offer by floyd was looked at like a duck because we all know canelo cant make welterweight and he knows that. Team canelo and floyd had to negotiate and they ended up meeteing at 152. Now look here, floyd fighting canelo at 152 doesnt really bother me, Im just calling out floyd for what he is; a hypocritical douche that has no word tbh. Dude talked shit for years about manny fighting at catchweights, saying how manny drained bigger fighters he fought. Now floyd's doing the same.

manny never fought at 154, he fought margarito at a 150lb catchweight and there was no rehydration clause, margarito rehydrated to 167lbs on fightnight while manny weighed in at 144 and only gained 3lbs overnight. think you got info wrong bruh..

i don't think he's a hypocrite because who else is there for him to fight??? he's kicked everyone's ass and top rank fighters won't fight him because of arum's puss ass. and floyd is a master of selling fights and talking shit...he doesn't like arum so of course he's going to talk shit about manny. you expected him to have nothing but praise and admiration for the guy?
