I've been called a douche by JFF over twitter, and couldn't enjoy him more.
He's still living tha dream. As long as his level of play holds up for one more season, I really couldn't care less.
It just takes a certain level of stupid to allow yourself to get filmed drinking and smoking weed. Ok, you are in college and rich and living the dream. Fine. Just don't do it in front of a million cameras. That's UTSA-QB level decision making.

Week 3: Home vs. Alabama'Bama quarterback AJ McCarron has been burned by Johnny Football one too many times, and convinces his famous girlfriend Katherine Webb to stay at home for this one. Not that he doesn't trust her, but Johnny Football is a charming devil, and he'll do anything to get in McCarron's head before the big game. Everything is going according to plan until McCarron's cell phone starts ringing on Friday while he's studying plays. There's loud music in the background, but the voice is unmistakable. "Hey McSharon," says Manziel, using the nickname he knows the quarterback hates. "Tuscaloosa's a shit hole, but I found one nice thing." Faintly, McCarron can hear a woman's voice apologizing, but Manziel's voice interrupts. "She told me you cry after sex," he says, just before the line goes dead. McCarron throws his phone in fury; he had cried only a few times, he thinks. Only a few times.
The next day, McCarron throws five interceptions as A&M wins 27-12.

Trouble is, he already has a good amount of family money. Also, with literally everyone having a camera on them 24/7 nowadays, he would have to sit at home and only go to practice to not be filmed. Getting caught with a bong is definitely stupid. Alcohol? Not as much. This dude dressed up as scooby doo before the Alabama game and got arrested last year before he was named the starter and that turned out just fine. I don't think this off season stuff will affect his level of play or draft stock, tbh. Could he handle himself better? Sure. Is half the shit he does blown WAY out of proportion? Absolutely. ESPN and the sports world is worse than TMZ with the Kardashians when it comes to Johnny.

I don't disagree at all. Personal feelings about him aside (seems like he could be a douche but I don't know him) he is not doing anything out of the ordinary or really wrong at all. He's definitely immature but he's young and that's not a huge issue IMO. Just be a little smarter about it.

Its easy not to like him based on press accounts. He appears to be a spoiled brat.
If you love to watch college football it's impossible not to watch him. He is the most exciting college football player I have ever seen and probably the best at his position. He has surpassed VY, Doug Flutie in my book (i dont put Tebow in). If he stays healthy, and does not participate in ruining himself, it will be most interesting to see how he performs in the pros.

Manziel, who grew up emulating Vick, insists “there’s definitely a place” for him in the NFL.
“I think there was a triple bolted lock on the door, and Russell Wilson and Drew Brees have kind of kicked it in,” Manziel said. “It’s got a crack in it. This isn't being cocky, but I have high ambitions. I’m an ambitious person. I set goals high. I want to completely knock that door off the hinges. Not just let it swing, but kick it down, so it’s wide open.
“I’ve heard it my whole life. I heard it when I was a freshman in high school, when I was a sophomore, junior in high school, getting recruited. It was, ‘This kid is this, but….’ There was always a ‘but’ with me. I go out and win the Heisman as a freshman, but at the end of the day, there’s always a ‘but.’ But the SEC was weaker. But this and but that. But, but, but. There’s always a ‘but’ somewhere in my name — always. I’m OK with that. It’s always been that way. It’s just another day at the office.”
Vito Corleone

I love watching Manziel, he is a man among boys, but he isn't as good as Vince was. At this point, if he stays another year I expect he would pass vince in both accomplishments and total kickassness, but as of now he is sightly less than Vince.
vince was a one man army. not as good a passer but so much more physical. what gets underrated during the vince years however is the defense texas had. that was a very solid group.

Honestly when I was watching Manziel carve up Alabama on Saturday the one image that kept popping into my head was that he reminded me of a young Joe Montana. I don't know if I can give him a better compliment since I still think Joe was the greatest QB I've ever seen. People don't remember how good Joe was at making things happen with his feet, he is remembered for his ability to carve up a defense with his arm. That is exactly what Manziel does, he makes things happen with his feet and he is carving up defenses with his arm.

I've heard that the Browns have been the most active team when it comes to scouting Johnny and heard they sent a whole contingent of people down to Kyle Field this last Saturday to watch him. The recent announcement of Trent Richardson getting traded to Indianapolis for a first round pick has me thinking the Browns feel the same way.

Manziel is so much quicker than Montana, it ain't even close. He may the shiftiest player in college, that goes for RB, kick returners, and WR. He is amazing. And a completely different type of runner than VY, but every bit as good IMO.

Legendary Texas Tech quarterback and current Red Raiders head coach Kliff Kingsbury recently joined FOX Sports' Clay Travis on Clay's Outkick the Podcast and made some pretty startling comments about Texas A&M QB Johnny Manziel. And while Kingsbury, who was Manziel's offensive coordinator and quarterback coach during Johnny Football's Heisman-winning freshman season with the Aggies, heaped plenty of praise on his former student, it was this comment that got the most buzz:
"I've never seen anything like him on the field . . . I would take him with the first pick if I had it. I think he is that talented of a player. Nobody has ever done what he's done [in the SEC]. With that type of talent, when he runs around he is just the best player out there each and every week. I would take him with the first pick and I think he is going to grow up, and he's mature and he's a smart kid. He will be fun to watch."

Representation hired. NFL awaits.
Everyone already knew he was gone. Why would he want to stay? They're not title contenders with or without him and he hates College Station.
i think it's pretty fair to assume manziel will go vince young once in the NFL. he certainly came at the right time and helped turn the tide in terms of recruiting. kyle allen even said that it was the success of a&m under manziel that convinced him to commit to the aggies. personally, i think the aggies will be more balanced under a pocket passer such as allen.

Maybe so, but I thought Texas would be more balanced under Gilbert than Colt, lol. And maybe they were, but not for the better, haha.

that was odd because gilbert turned out to be pretty decent when he transferred to SMU. i just think that the RB's will be more utilized now and tre williams will finally get a chance to run the ball more often. the receivers are stockpiling so hill or allen will certainly have their targets to spread the ball to.

Manziels farewell letter:
Message from Johnny Manziel ... in his own words
THANK YOU, AGGIELAND!
To All My Friends in Aggieland,
After long discussions with my family, friends, teammates, and coaches, I have decided to make myself available for the 2014 NFL Draft. The decision was not an easy one. Anyone who has ever watched a football game at Kyle Field knows that leaving that atmosphere, those Saturdays with excitement, color, and noise, will be hard for me. I cannot begin to tell you what the support of the school, my teammates, Coach Sumlin, Chancellor Sharp and the fans has meant to me over the last two years. The Heisman Trophy belongs as much to you as it does to me. My teammates and I never doubted the value or the deep and real spirit of The 12th Man. It is not a myth. Anyone one has ever played football for Texas A&M knows that passion is real.
I promise you I will always be an Aggie. I will always try to make you as proud of me in the NFL as I did at Texas A&M. While there are many wonderful memories I will take with me – big wins, surprising upsets, and Bowl victories – I most cherish standing arm in arm with my teammates during the postgame, singing the alma mater, or jumping into the stands to feel real Aggie spirit. I regret we weren’t able to bring a National Championship to College Station, but I assure you a championship is going to come soon with Coach Sumlin and these talented players. And when it does, you can bet I will be with you to cheer and celebrate. I’ll probably be the loudest one there.
Thank you for making my college years very special. The faces, the friends, the fans, and the experience will forever be an important part of my life. Gig ’em Aggies! I’ll always love you guys.
Sincerely,
Johnny Manziel

Lol even the best offensive players have to have some sort of defense behind them. In VY's case he actually had a top 5 D behind him. In Manziels case he had a 100+ ranked defense behind him.
i think VY would probably say he'd rather have a job.

The reason I ask is that I'm sure he could at least get $500 for the Heisman on Ebay.

Football doesn't play defense, how is it in any way on him that the Aggy D was shit? It's that same retarded logic that glorifies Kirby because he has five rings. Bottom line is he had two of the most dominant seasons ever. As a fucking underclassman.
If you don't want to put him down as your GOAT that's fine but at the very least he's on the short list that is in the conversation for GOAT. Only a hater, idiot or both would refuse to acknowledge his greatness tbh.

Johnny is one of the best College Football players I have ever seen but I do think he is a pompous douche who will fail in the NFL. That style of play doesn't translate well and he reminds me of Vick the way he runs around with the ball. I feel sorry for the team who drafts him in the first round although I can actually see him having a decent season with the Browns. They have a great playmaking receiver and one of the top O lines in the league. Not to mention a solid defense as well.
But yeah he is a faggot.

Aren't you helping JFF's argument with this question?

Let's say they would be 6-7... instead they had 9 wins... guess I'm just not impressed considering how important the QB position is and that going from 6 to 9 wins is much easier than going from 9 to 12 wins.

Huh? 12 win teams in Power 5 conferences are complete teams regardless of how good the QB is. Football is as good as any QB but he still can't do it alone tbh.

And how many "prayer throws" did Mike Evans catch this year? I'll give you a hint: he didn't catch the one against Alabama :lol
