How do you embed a post from lakers ground?

I think i found a site dumber than lakersground:
A quick point
in 2011, when we failed to repeat, not only did the players change but the dynamic had shifted from the very FUn 2008 team.
gone were little brothers: Ariza,Sasha,Jordan and powell.
Some people, okay most people thought the mistakes these players made were hurting the team, and Blake,Barnes and Artest seemed like upgrades.
but here is the thing, Kobe can get on anyone, but to Sasha,Kobe was damn near a God. To Jordan, he was a big brother, one that JF wanted to compete with at times, but there was respect there and LOVE. Ariza was Kobe's little homie.
Now , when you factor in Bynum, there was a big little brother thing, where you talk about a sharp kid, who had tools, . Dwight was the MAn previous, so instead of the CHIP on his shoulder that Bynum had, there was a slump in his shoulders from perceived lack of respect.
now, artest ,Barnes and Blake respected the hell of out Kobe.
i think Pau did not earn their respect in the same fashion. I think they respected Phil, but when you have been in the NBA 10+ years, you look at coaches differntly than young guys.
So, the chemistry changed.
I think that everyone is coming for little $$4 which is a good sign.
Kaman is the kind of guy that fits in most locker rooms. He is the guy who you laugh at, but still respect because he has some skill.
I think if you haveLo-Kobe-Pau...there is a certain chemistry that will unleash. Meeks looks up to Kobe and all of the vets, he is very similar to Sasha. I don't think we need Sasha per se.
If we get Nick young, we might win the title. I'm not joking and this isn't rose colored glasses.
i think this is oneof those years where the title is up for grabs. I think Indy is too young, I think the Clippers are in a position where they have higher expectations than what i see from that roster. Especially defensively.
Don't think San An makes it back.
i just think, this is a weird type year, where Miami is tired and indy is young, but anyway
first thing is first. Sign Nick Young and any brewer, and look out

Stop praising Boozer by looking his stats.
No matter how much points he got, he just give up by double on the defensive ends.
Literally a statue on defensive ends.
I've never seen a player this bad on defensive ends.

Yikes
That poll either is rigged, shows basketball ignorance, a short term memory, or simply who is hated more.
Kobe still has as many Titles won as Duncan and hasn't had the luxury of being a 2nd/3rd and sometimes 4th option since 2008.
Kobe still has more WC Titles than Duncan, 7-6.
Kobe still has more 1st team ALL NBA selections than Duncan, the most ever.
Kobe still has more 1st team All NBA D selections than Duncan, the most ever, actually TD might be tied here.
Kobe will be the only 30,000, 6,000, 6,000 player ever, only MJ and Kobe only like 5,000, 1000, 1000 playoff players. Look that up forget the stat. Kobe will be 3rd in regular season scoring at least, 3rd in playoff scoring and 1st in AS game scoring.
Duncan's got more MVPs, but it's also clear Kobe got screwed out of at least 1.
How about we look at Kobe vs Duncan H2H in the playoffs?
Kobe series 4-2, Kobe record 18-10, and Kobe scores more and shoots a better % than Duncan does H2H. Kobe owned Duncan's Spurs.
Kobe's basically getting the opposite send off as Derek Jeter. Just getting hated on out the door by the media, never seen anything like it in sports for an all-time great, it's sad.

Duncan is 38...Kobe is what, 36? If Duncan can do this late in the game, so can Kobe. Both Duncan and Kobe possess the skillset to have a big impact despite being in their mid thrities. It's about having a smart coach that can manage Kobe's minutes, a solid core group with a great leader like Kobe, and a great organization and FO.
We have a lot of the pieces we need...
Lakers can follow San Antonio's model, and get to their level.
We can get a great coach this season. We can find a solid player in the draft. We have the cap space to surround Kobe with the right role players. We have Kobe as a leader to mentor younger players...
We will have a better record than the Clippers next season. Mark my words. http://forums.lakersground.net/images/smiles/icon_eek.gif

You left out a few details from your assessment:
IF: Kobe had been as committed to building a deep roster around himself and taken a Duncan-type pay cut.
IF: We didn't waste years of upheaval and chaos on terrible coaching choices.
IF: We'd brought back Phil instead of MDA.
IF: We'd been more calculating in not letting Howard walk for zero compensation.
IF: we had ownership that was that 100% on the same page.
… then absolutely you are correct.

Give it up ALREADY!!!! It's amazing how many people here keep pointing to Kobe's extension as the sole reason why the Lakers can't field a competitive team. It's just a tired argument. There are several factors that have put the Lakers in the position they are in currently. Typical ban wagon fans are always looking to point fingers at Kobe, when this man has given us 18+ years of excellence with more to come. So I ask if they Lakers did GIVE Kobe a smaller extension who would the rest of the money go to? What player(s) along with Kobe would have put the Lakers in the hunt again?

H2H's don't mean much. Steve Nash has a head-to-head advantage vs. Kobe. So does Dirk, who absolutely dominated Kobe statistically in their matchup.
Also, Duncan's overall stats are slightly better given how dominant he was on the boards when he played the Lakers.
The fact Duncan was the overall best player during last year's title run (led the Spurs in all advanced categories and was statistically their best defender) is nothing short of extraordinary.
And 1 extra Finals MVP gives him the better career. It is what is.
Tim Duncan's highlight reel vs Kobe's?
And no.. The MVP doesn't mean (bleep) over the entirety of their careers..

:lol those retards bringing up arbitrary totals and revisionist history
:cry Kobe wasn't a 2nd/3rd option like Duncan after 2008 :cry
:lol carried to three of his rings by the most dominant player ever. It's insane how much they try to discredit Shaq to prop up Kobe

Stop praising Boozer by looking his stats.
No matter how much points he got, he just give up by double on the defensive ends.
Literally a statue on defensive ends.
I've never seen a player this bad on defensive ends.

That's what makes you an All-Star.
Melo and Harden are shooting almost as badly as Kobe and they are superstars. Efficiency will get you nowhere in terms of recognition.
What in the world are you talking about? LBJ has made a career off of producing superficial stats.
Someone needs to buy Jeggs an ESPN mug, a LBJ jersey, and a "Come Fly With Me" video for XMas.
Definitely an ESPN and LBJ hater. But at least I admit it, unlike half the pretenders here who claim to be the "Biggest Kobe fan here but the dude is just a big allen iverson" http://forums.lakersground.net/images/smiles/icon_lol.gif
You're suspended for 3 days. The name calling isn't allowed around here, as has been said many times.
EDIT: It's going to be longer because of your previous history of warnings.

Everyone here would be suspended for life on the 1st hour of the 1st day. Could you imagine the hurtness of feelings if they merged these two sites?
...It’s really like no other. Each year I try to make it to one Laker game, whether it was in Detroit or Atlanta. Fwiw the Lakers are undefeated in the games I go to, so ahem, Jeanie, hook me up with season tickets, please. I’ve never been to a game in Staples, but from the perspective of a road fan, let me tell you, watching Kobe Bryant in person solidifies why he will always be my favorite player.
I’ve done writeups/summaries on past games I’ve went to, and they are all strikingly similar. From the moment you walk in, the building always has a buzz to it. Different feel than a game vs. any other team. You see the #24 jerseys, you hear the Laker fans chirping, you just feel the excitement, the anticipation.
Even something as routine as shoot arounds, all eyes are on Kobe. How many shots is he going to make? How much lift is he getting? He’s looking extra focused so he’s about to put a little extra into the beatdown tonight. Fear, bitterness, resentment, hate from the opposing fans. Maybe there’s some respect, doesn’t matter, their sorry ass team doesn’t have the prestige of the Lakers or the greatness of Kobe Bean on their side. Our side has the trump card, so we're hyped, pumped up for what surely will be another 81 point game, or at least 50+ with a game winner and a death stare. Whatever it is, it’s going to be a show.
And that’s just it. The man has always put on a show. The entertainment value is priceless. What's he going to do? Who knows. But all eyes are on #24. From shoot around, introductions, opening tip, to the final buzzer. It’s a joy to watch. Oh, Old Washed Up 36 Year Old about to get a looseball and go on a fast break...for a layup? The energy in the crowd instantly changes…”Get ‘em Kooobbee!” Crosses over some poor schmuck -here comes the oohs-, pump fakes that pleb help defender -here comes the ahhs-, fades away and swishes it? Jubilation. Clanks? Disappointment, but I’d be damned if there’s another player who can keep a crowd wanting more for as long as Kobe has. And yes, the MVP chants on the road are very real and very fun to be a part of.
Watching him out there today, I’m reminded that I may only have a couple more chances to see one of the greatest to ever play do his thing. Or this may have been my last. Who knows. What I do know, and have always appreciated was the sublime play and value he has brought to the Lakers. That post up, fake left, pump fake, fadeaway swish? That’s a product of doin’ work. The lift may not be the same anymore, the separation from the defender may not be there, but year after year, the work, the dedication to his craft, the singular focus to get every last ounce out of his potential, was always there. That unparalleled commitment deserves great admiration. Everyone says it to the point where you forget what it really means, but all of that work, focus, desire, and follow through to try and be the greatest to ever do it, cannot be understated.
Look at the mileage. Look at the age. Look at the circumstances. 45,000+ minutes, very few have played as much. 36 years old, 19th season. Even fewer have played this many seasons, let alone for the same team. Torn achilles, fractured knee. Those are just the recent ones. Forget the busted finger on his shooting hand or any other issues a 19 year career will lead to. Injuries the one this guy suffered end careers, or at least severely diminish a player. Not Kobe. He relied on the one thing to get him back. Work ethic. Countless hours of rehab, treatment, whatever it took. Yes, we know Father Time is undefeated, but Kobe has, and continues to, give the best fight possible. That's all we can ask for. Frankly, after the career he's had, no one could have rightly blamed him for calling it a career or coming back a shell of himself. But nope, that's not, and will never be Kobe.
I’m sitting here watching this guy still showing off his skills as if he’s in his 12th year. Which by the way, was around the time he already 3 rings, a MVP, and an 81 point game. That was also 7 years ago. No, it’s of course not the same. That’s obvious. But, #24 is a machine, a marvel. The core of his game, the skills, are still there. Truly embodies everything I respect in an athlete and competitor. That competitive fire and fearlessness, attention to detail and skillset, unwavering belief in himself, been lucky to have watched his career. I appreciate greatness and someone who brought 5x rings, 81 points, 62 in 3 quarters, 50+ in 4 straight, and countless memories.
But yeah, he was supposed to FINALLY be “done” “washed up” “40th best player”. They’ve been digging his grave for so long, eventually they’ll be right. Good for them. Meanwhile, I sit back and enjoy the awe inspiring show from Kobe Bean Bryant, Black Mamba, #24, game after game, year after year. I just hope I can see it in person a couple more times.
(I really envy you guys who have the chance to see Laker games in LA! I can't even imagine how awesome that must be.)

Seriously though, a lot of us grew up with him as THE guy in LA. It's understandable, but some see that he's the downfall of the franchise now along with Jim Buss. In fact, most the older and less emotional Laker fans I know are very quick to blame Jim and Kobe + 48.5. A lot of respect for Spurs down here right now, most the dudes I know that are still sucking on Kobe's schlong are like 25 year old guys that wait in line to buy his shoes. Bitch ass niggas basically

With Kobe playing the facilitator and playing and teaching team ball
the Lakers look like contenders again.
Only a rim protector and good SF is needed. Not a superstar.
Kobe is playing like a true superstar now. Holding the team together and
passing. It is not about his points as about his leadership.
The triple doubles tell the story.
This concept is a must keep. Ball movement and team defense.

No shit, i've been around since the azcentral days.
Why would anyone avoid the General section if it was confined to a single thread? It really bothers people that much, that you can't just avoid one single solitary thread? I understand ALL of the history, and I understand why some people would want nothing to do with it - but between the ignore feature, and a single thread in the basement, how could that honestly hurt *anything* ? We owe our existence to him, in an odd way. That was 15 years ago, and we still have a thriving community. Hate him all you want, but credit where it is due. He obviously left a mark if we are still parroting his catch phrases, which is exactly where this conversation came from. Give him a dungeon.... ;p
and that particular line has been repeated so many times its an exaggerated catch phrase, a colorful way to tell someone to screw off. to him, its playful. are we so thin skinned?]]]

Cubby told a poster he should fuck his mother completely unprovoked and this was after being warned several times of his actions prior. He had many chances when he was posting here, more than I would give and he pissed them all away. He had time after time while he was here to be some sort of valuable poster and he did everything he could not to be.

And he was as protected as Jordan/Wade/Harden/Lebron? Not only is he not as protected as them but he is allowed to be blatantly fouled with no call. So it's a double killer to his numbers. If he got the ref treatment other stars get, I don't think there would be any doubt he was the GOAT. As it stands he's top 5 despite playing against the other team and the refs most of his career.

That argument only works if you assume that MJ and Kobe are equally as skilled. The fact is that Kobe has been a far more skilled player throughout his career and just to make games competitive, the league refs operated under a sort of Anti-Jordan Rules called the Kobe rules. For a few years, he was fouled on virtually every single possession but wasn't given the call because it would have been like watching Barry Bonds walked 250 times a season. The league changed the rules on what you could do to perimeter players and then allowed Kobe to be treated as if it were the mid 80's.
It's definitely cost Kobe points and FG% points.

Ya, but that was when Diaw was Diaw 1.0 & when Green was a playoff choker. I'll take my hit for that thread, but it wasn't that far off in the beginning.

Yea, but Diaw was still Diaw 1.0, and you can't forget Green's horrendous 1-12 shooting in the games that mattered most, as well as his horrific choke in 2012 against OKC. He didn't just shoot cold, he shot ice cold.
Shumpert was a good defensive prospect, and remember this was before we found out Green was a pretty good defender. Green was considered one of the biggest system players.. he couldn't even dribble.
But the tides turned and I'll take my shots.

Best Shooting Team Hypothetical
PG: Stephen Curry
SG: Kobe Bryant
SF: Larry Bird
PF: Kevin Love
C: Dirk Nowitzki
I think this is hypothetically the best 3 pt. shooting team using the 5 traditional positions

In the Kobe vs. Duncan debate, how about the argument that Kobe didn't have to "sacrifice" or give up any part of his financial livelihood in order to get his 5 rings? Sure it seems respectable that Duncan has been taking less money than he could have for years in order to build and maintain competitive rosters, but in the game of "what ifs", Kobe could have done the same thing and could've arguably won 2-3 more championships. It's almost a testament to Kobe's greatness that he has won 5 in light of the fact that he's had to do it with arguably less talented rosters (or at least less higher paid players) overall than Duncan did.
Like Lakers never had 100 mil $ roster :lmao
