Yo Spur-Addict! Let's put the news for the defending Super Bowl Champions right here! Read that they may tag Hauschka because they don't want to pay the 8 mil increase to Costco Bennett (4mil-12mil) if he's Franchised. Tate also goes from 2mil to 11 mil if franchised and with the wish that maybe Harvin will be healthy a hole year and Baldwin/Kearse improving, Taters may be gone. I think Giacomini and Miller are no longer in Seattle next year as well. That puts the emphasis on either re-signing Bennett or Tate/Hauschka before the bloodshed of '15 starts to unfold. The OL will need to be addressed as well as Pete's desire to have a big 6'3-6'5 receiver to complement the speed of Harvin, the ball control of Baldwin, and the blooming dynamic play of Jermaine Kearse. He will also be replacing Sidney 'LarryFitzKeepGettin'emChecks' Rice. OL/TE/WR/DL could be key areas to watch going forward. :toast

Defending Champs sounds good, doesn't it? :rollin Broncos. On the board, and it feels great. And in dominant fashion to boot.
But I certainly don't want to get ahead of myself here, I'll take the wait and see approach as far as FA and the draft is concerned. I'm naturally more interested in the draft as opposed to FA, but that's me.

Probably won't do 13-3 again but the team is young and they've tasted the blood of victory and it'll be up to Schneider and Carroll to fill in the gaps and stoke the fires. :lol They'll try to poach us for sure, and they have their own internal issues. But we have missed two DL's the entire year. Hill and Jesse Williams so we do have DL depth. Neither are of Bennett's caliber, but they should be able plug some inevitable holes.

It is hardest winning the first--everything afterwards is house money…there is what? Only 5 teams that have repeated so yes it is difficult so anything can happen next year. However, Seattle has been thirsty for a title for 35 years so the excitement is real and we'll have fun next season. Can't call the Seahawks ringless anymore and that is a huge accomplishment.

I think that remark about no hometown discount by Bennett sealed his fate--we're facing one more year of cheap. 2015 is when the money goes up and then the piper has to be paid. I think, in the long run, this was what was expected and so well, best of luck to him. I mean, in the 3 year plan of Schneider has yielded a 24-8 regular season record so far, a 4-1 playoff record, and a Super Bowl Victory. There's no shortage of teams that wouldn't take the success that has came the past years. I wonder what they have up their sleeves and well, it will be interesting to see whom we get to fill his place. Thank god we still got Avril and Irvin lol.

Resigning of McCoy will be an underrated one for now. One would assume they are not targeting a TE in the draft, especially with Jermichael Finley set to visit with us relatively soon. You have to think that Zach Miller is likely gone if we sign Finley, as we have no reason to carry four TE's on the active. Sadly, they may not like Austin Seferian Jenkins as much as I do :depressed

Well, Percy is an all purpose number 1 which isn't traditional, but I'll certainly take it. We just need a big X receiver, or a monster TE. As far as getting knocked off, we know everyone is coming for us. We'll have to hold serve and just get in. If we get into the playoffs anything can happen. as long as RW keeps making plays when they're needed, i think they'll hang onto him. i'm just worried about how'll they're replace Sidney "Jerry" Rice-Fitzgerald and Golden Tate...
tbh I'm more worried about Percy Harvin...he'll likely have career-low #'s and be subjected to more concussive passes like the meatball he got served in the Saints game. He's already got head issues so one more errant RW throw could mean life in a wheelchair and meals through a straw:(

Exactly...and RW gets Tarkenton comparisons all the time...both have a penchant for getting their receivers murdered
tarkenton retired as the NFL's all time leading passer, i'm shocked you think so highly of RW
in that superbowl, Tark went 17-35 with 1 TD and 2 Picks, and lost.
tarkenton was 0-3 in superbowls with a total of 1 touchdown and 6 picks though
To be fair he would've had sick #'s too had his teammates spotted him 30 pts out the gate
spurraider21
03-20-2014, 10:06 PM
if you keep turning it over, no defense can spot you anything
It was 19-0 before Tarkenton could blink an eye and he hadn't turned the ball over to that point, so there goes that theory.

How were Brady's numbers in his first superbowl win?
Brady led a GW SB drive against a 14-pt favorite. He also won SB MVP but even I wouldn't say something as stupid and irresponsible as "he had a great game." No, those kind of comments are reserved for fanbois who haven't learned the game yet. We know you regret those comments though, so it's all good.

Yeah, we already deduced that all his key 3rd down throws came on possessions where he had short fields and led to FG's--the first one kickstarted by Percy Harvin's big play. Then you got desperate and tried to give RW all the credit for yardage when he threw the ball out of the back of the endzone and a flag was thrown. It was desperate and shameful, but those are the tactics one must employ when they're faced with defending a losing argument. You'll find this out later on in your 38K Public Defender career.

Again, a nonsensical reply. The point is he was given short fields and came up with a total of 6 points (with an assist to Harvin). Last time you blamed Marshawn Lynch for this, as if it was his fault for not bursting through 8-man walls:lol

offense had 13 points in the first half, which by itself was enough to outscore the broncos for the game. take away any of the 3rd down conversions and you'd have less points

or Harvin's production, or a plethora of other things. Such a terrible argument:lol

Best sports year of my life, there's no way around it. 99 was really great and all, but it's just hard to top a year like this.

Spur-Addict bump! Soon the dawn of the title defense begins!
Can't wait until this depth chart is finalized. Rang ceremony, thrash the pack, and chase that second ring!!!

Seahawks receiver Sidney Rice is retiring

Per a league source, receiver Sidney Rice (http://www.rotoworld.com/player/nfl/4188/sidney-rice) has decided to retire from football. The source says that the 27-year-old Rice’s decision arises from his history of concussions.
More recently, Rice has been unable to play due to a knee injury suffered during the 2013 season. A torn ACL caused him to miss eight games in the regular season and the playoffs.
Signed in 2011 after four seasons in Minnesota, Rice never came close to matching a breakout season third season in the league. With Brett Favre arriving in Minnesota, Rice generated 1,312 receiving yards in 2009. Since then, he has appeared in 16 regular-season games only once.
Cut after the 2013 season by the Seahawks, Rice rejoined Seattle in April after getting clearance from Dr. James Andrews. Rice was due to earn a base salary of $1 million this year.

Just Lost Sidney Fitzgerald :cry
But seriously, it's terrible to have to retire so young. Paul Richardson just moved up the depth chart.
