True, no sympathy for that jerk...but good fans like JoeTait and ThunderDan? Its fucked up... you, I, and every other fan with a decent basketball acumen knows that the it really shouldn't even be a choice. Nostalgia caught up with him and he's relying on the small percent chance that he'll swing down and rescue Cleveland and be called the hero again. His whole "I'm waiting for LeBron" thing is an excuse and an attempt to deflect all blame and hate onto LeBron.... they aren't playing together no matter what, Melo has zero reason to wait.... he just wants to milk this for all the attention he can get.....

It's not like they got assets for him. They straight up amnestied him. I'm pretty sure they said it was solely a financial decision anyways. (or at the very least that's what everyone was saying that's what it was at the time) Not to mention they also salary dumped Joel Anthony. They gave up assets (2 future picks) to get him off the team.
They didn't even use the mini MLE this year--settling on getting Toney Douglas--a third PG on a team that doesn't even run a PG in crunch time. They needed an athletic wing, but didn't want to sign their 1st rounder last year.
Micky Arrison is the worst kind of jew, he doesn't deserve the success he got. If I'm Bron, I get the hell away from that ASAP.

Not only is he destined to retire without a ring but he is unlikely to ever even have deep playoff runs.. When I think about the careers of players like Ewing and Malone they had legit chances at rings with teams built around them.. The drama was could they get over the hump and win it all? There has never been any drama with Melo.. All he has done is bow out very early in the playoffs or not make them at all. Keep shooting for points thought Melo and it will likely be enough to get you in the HOF..

LeBron staying is a best case scenario for Spurfans. i just wanted to see him leave for the hyesteria/shakeup. would be interesting
when Wade originally opted out, everybody saw it as a signal that lebron was staying for sure. i think the fact that it took so long is what drove the storylines.

Wade is so done as a player.. If he has that much pull with Lebron he may be sitting around years from now thinking "Why did I let him talk me into this shit, I'd have more rings had I left"? This should and better put an end to any speculation about him ever going back again.. Cleveland should not want him back and just get over it.. He basically fucked you over twice..

Sheridan’s Top 25 Free Agents: July 10 Edition – LeBron going to Cleveland
July 10, 2014 by Chris Sheridan
The Decision has been made, even though it hasn’t been made public by the man himself. LeBron James is returning to the Cleveland Cavaliers, a league source tells SheridanHoops.com.
James met with Miami Heat president Pat Riley on Wednesday in Las Vegas to deliver the news, and Riley did his best to try to get James to reconsider, comparing the stability of the Heat organization to the relative instability of the Cavs, who have a meddling owner and have changed general managers and coaches several times in the past few years, according to a source who spoke on condition of anonymity.
The meeting lasted about an hour, and James and his advisors then met for dinner. James’ stance did not change, according to the source, but no public pronouncements were made. An official announcement will eventually be made on www.lebronjames.com, as I first reported Tuesday. The news should become official before James leaves Saturday for the World Cup final in Brazil.
For Cleveland, this is one of the most important events in the city’s sports history. No pro team has won a title of any kind since the Browns won the NFL Championship in 1964, and now there is a distinct possibility that the 50-year drought can end. James will be joining a team led by Kyrie Irving, who just agreed to a five-year contract extension, along with Andrew Wiggins, the No. 1 pick in last month’s draft.
It is a young core that will grow older with James as their tutor and leader, and he returns to Cleveland as a grown man who has learned what it takes to win. The Cavs prepared for the move by dumping Jarrett Jack, Tyler Zeller, Sergei Karasev along with a 2016 first-round draft pick to clear $23 million in salary cap room (they received nothing else in return) — the surest sign of all that they are expecting James to return.
For Miami, it’ll be the end of an era — a four-year period in which a superteam was constructed and went to four straight NBA Finals.
Why is this happening? It comes down to LeBron building a legacy, which leads us to three points:
There is nothing left for him to accomplish in Miami. He went there for four years, he went to the NBA Finals all four years, and he won two titles while learning what it takes to be a champion. Nobody can ever take that away from him.
A chance to return home as a successful, seasoned adult with a chance to deliver the city of Cleveland its first championship since 1964 is too much of a legacy opportunity for James to pass up.
And another thing: With all due respect to Chris Bosh and Dwyane Wade, the best player he has a chance to team up with is named Kyrie Irving.
Once James makes his intentions known publicly (and the same goes for Carmelo Anthony, the free agency dam is going to burst. On Wednesday, ‘Melo reportedly would stay with the New York Knicks. A day later, the Bulls were said to be remaining in contention, according to several news outlets.
If it seemed a little fishy, that would be understandable. Rarely, if ever, is NBA history has free agency been held up with so many mysteries. Among front office executives and player agents, a backlash was starting to build because of the logjam in the trickle-down market.
Eventually, the second tier of Greg Monroe, Pau Gasol, Trevor Ariza, Luol Deng, Lance Stephenson and others are going to lock up their deals in a very short span of time, and it is going to be madness.
We have been telling you for weeks that Cleveland is in the hunt for James. Some have dismissively scoffed at the notion. Others have surveyed the landscape, summoned their inner Spock and said: “Why not?”
James traveled Monday to Las Vegas, and a source who has been briefed on James’ free agency maneuverings told SheridanHoops that James’ inner circle, from his wife, Savannah to his agent, Rich Paul, to his best friends, Maverick Carter and Randy Mims, are unanimous in their belief that James’ best move is a return to the team he played for from 2003-2010.
Fans in Cleveland have been holding their collective breath, and now they can exhale. The chance for the city’s first championship in any major professional sport since 1964 is now a distinct possibility.

(RELATED: SHERIDAN DISCUSSES LeBRON REPORT WITH ESPN’S COLIN COWHERD)
The Cavs were the only team able to offer James something no one else could: Redemption. Let us not forget that we have reached the four-year anniversary of “taking my talents,” Jim Gray, Cavs fans burning jerseys and Dan Gilbert wrongly predicting more championships for Cleveland than Miami in his infamous comic sans stream-of-consciousness Internet post — a post that was purged from the Cavs’ Web site overnight Sunday.
Rarely has the balance of power in the NBA hung in the balance quite the way it does now. It was a similar situation four years ago, and we all were witnesses to how much sway The Chosen One holds over our beloved Association. Now, it is a question of whether he can turn a young nucleus led by Irving and Wiggins into championship material.
Cuban in ClevelandThe man who has been greasing the skids for this epic event is James’ agent, Rich Paul, who met with potential suitors in Cleveland during the first week of the NBA’s moratorium on signings and trades, which expires July 10. Much of Paul’s work has been taking place under the radar, although there have been clues, such as Mavericks owner Mark Cuban being spotted in northeast Ohio. The Lakers had a stealth meeting Friday, and the Rockets and Suns also spoke with Paul.
Thursday afternoon, the NBA buzz of the moment was the fact that Dwyane Wade appeared at LeBron’s summer camp in Las Vegas.
Meanwhile, on the Carmelo Anthony front, he has finished his tour of meeting with prospective teams and was told by the Knicks that they are indeed willing to make him a max, five-year offer. His decision could come at any time. The Bulls were the flavor of the night Thursday. I think he is staying in New York, believing in Phil Jackson’s vision.
One piece of business that could speed up James’ decision is the Mavericks’ offer sheet to Chandler Parsons, which was tendered Thursday. The Rockets have the right to match the offer, but if they match it before Bosh makes his decision, they will not have the cap space to get Bosh.

At the urging of LeBron James' agent, the Cleveland Cavaliers are pursuing a maximum contract salary slot to bring back the free-agent superstar, league sources told Yahoo Sports.
Rich Paul, the president of Klutch Sports, has been funneling belief into the organization that the Cavaliers are in strong position to lure James from the Miami Heat, sources told Yahoo Sports.
For years, Paul has confided to people that bringing back James to Cleveland has been something of a mission for him, and he's encouraging Cavaliers officials to offer no restraint in the recruitment of James, sources said.

I've said all along that if I were LeBron, I'd be firing Rich Paul right now just in case it's really him leaking this shit.... in fact, if I were LeBron, seeing how shitty my choices are, how out-of-control the media is and the false hope that is being peddled, I'd fire Paul, cut off my inner circle, and announce that I'm starting free agency from scratch and open up the floor to any and all teams....
That being said, it's complete bullshit that the Cleveland media and national hack reporters can consistently tweet fake rumors with no accountability because if LeBron doesn't come back, he'll be the one getting all the hate and outrage..... Cleveland fans should be angry at their own local media for biting on literally any positive rumor and giving them false hope, not at LeBron....

When you take the sentimental BS out of it there's no reason why he would. If the Cavaliers were Detroit no one would think they even had a chance to get LBJ. All anyone would see is a 33-win team with terrible chemistry going on its third coach and second GM in three years. Even dragging around Wade's carcess for a couple more years is preferable to that situation, at least on paper.
Having said that, I still think he should come back. :rolleyes

Lebron is going to announce it at the World Cup during an interview at the Finals.
He is going back to the Cavs. With not only a more talented roster, Lebron sees the Marketing potential that he and Manziel have in making Cleveland a media sensation. There isn't a better time for Lebron to return to the Cavs.
After seeing 80% of Heat fans leave the arena before midway through the 4th of game 4, Lebron probably doesn't give a rat ass about heat fans at this point.

All anyone would see is a 33-win team with terrible chemistry going on its third coach and second GM in three years. Even dragging around Wade's carcess for a couple more years is preferable to that situation, at least on paper.
Having said that, I still think he should come back. :rolleyes
I'd go to Cleveland if I'm him because I'd be mad as hell I took a huge paycut to sign Mike Miller and then the guy gets amnestied after being a huge part of me winning the 2013 title. He took the paycut for Miller, not for cheap ass Arison. I can't believe he'd swallow shit from his owner like that. Yeah, Gilbert wrote a retarded letter that talked all kinds of stupid shit, but he didn't con him out of money.

I don't think that should be enough for him to bolt and possibly miss out on another title or two. If I'm LeBron I'm thinking that as long as I can get through the East and not play the Spurs in the Finals I can still win titles in Miami. In Cleveland even if everything else goes right this team won't contend for a title for two or three years even with LeBron.

There are 2 theories regarding Rich Paul:
1- Rich Paul is from Cleveland and spends most of his time there, he has constant contact with some Cavs people..he wants Lebron to return to Cleveland for the potential money he will make from the mass endorsements that will be generated from the "feel-good" story of Lebron returning home and the complete 360 of his image back to being a "hero" figure
2- There are rumors that Lebron's camp/Paul are leading Gilbert on, only to crush him:lol..it's a legit rumor, tbh..

With Love, Irving, and james and a solid core, they will be right up there with the Pacers in making it back to the Finals. Winning it is another story. This is the East were talking about and it flat out sucks at this point.

I do think you guys would be in a great position to land Love with Wiggins. I can't imagine Minnesota's going to get a prospect like him anywhere else. As for the Spurs in the Finals, not sure why everyone seems to act like the 2014 Spurs are going to be back. Look at how beatable the Lakers looked in 02 the year after they destroyed the league. The Spurs may make the Finals again, but I'd be shocked if they ever play at this year's level again.

"Probably watching, he likes to watch. We'll pay him no never mind." She unbuckled his khakis. "My goodness this belt is real leather. Have you ever hit a woman, Bum, I mean Dennis?"
"No, but, I've thought about thrashing Dale more than few times." Their laughter filled the bedroom.
"You and I both, Dennis." The laughter stilled.
"My goodness, you're so aroused." The buckled hit the carpeting and bounced, the jangle following the jingle.
"Is he really watching, uh,,,,,,,,,,Kate, Girl?"
"Of course he is."
There was movement behind the mirror'ed closet door. Dennis watched the reflection, his erect cock and her lips pursed around the head. Then a whisper from the crevice twixt door edge and jamb.

the lane was 6 feet wide tbh... you could be standing within 3 feet of the rim on either side all day. easier for post players to score, easier to rebound. nowadays the lane is 16 feet wide so you need to clear it by 8 feet either way or else ur getting called for 3 seconds

Chapter Two.
Dennis thought he heard it that way, but, wasn't sure. His tumescence had started to wane a bit. "I don't know, Girl, if I..." She released his meat head. The pop loud and intruding.
"Let him watch, Dennis. He won't tell." Half of his baker's dozen disappeared thru her pursed lips.
"Oh, my God......" She tugged firmly on his rapidly retreating scrotum. He went immediately to the tips of his toes. She governed the remaining 5 inches with her fist. His eyes never left that crevice.
He swore he heard the old polka that he'd heard once before, but, where? His mind was lit and flashing as Girl sucked deeply, her tongue coarse across his glands. "we'll have a barrel of fuckin' fun..." barely audible but unmistakable from the edge of the mirror.
"I don't think I can do this in front of hi..." The vice of her hand providing an excruciating delight so quickly that stars danced among the white lights.
"Yes, yes, yes, yes, yes...." His feet flat once again within the carpeting. Her head immovable, her tongue like the devil's whip. She released his sack, but, just to gain a fresh hold. The change in grip & force caused the stirrings deep in his soul, the liquid beginning to rise. The fresh hold though stunted the rise as the stars traveled so fast he'd never catch them.
Either the crevice had increased, or, he was losing his mind.

Why, Gilbert jumped through hoops for Lebron. Did everything he wanted. Most people said and I agree that is where Gilbert went wrong instead getting a coach that would coach Lebron and actual establish a winning system.
Gilbert just expressed himself as a fan, not an owner. And please don't tell me you wouldn't have been bitter if Duncan jumped ship to Orlando bc I know I would have been at the time. The way Lebron handled in 4 years ago was classless and deserved all the criticism and hate that came with.

He went immediately to the tips of in his toes.
Chapter Three.
"He isn't going to try anything with me, I mean u..."
Girl, from her knees snapped to a crouch, the crevice, in abeyance closing to it's original girth. Both her fist and her grip increased their force, her head slowly began the 7 inch trek.
Dennis closed his eyes, praying that when he opened them next the crevice would not be changed, at all.
He released Dale from his mind and concentrated on the rising liquid that seemed to begin in his toes, had buckled his knees and now had lit his thighs afire causing a fine tremor throughout his entire torso.
Katie Girl concurrently released The Bag, her fist and her lips. The ice cold bedroom cascaded through the top of Bum's head as he fell back onto the quilts and the darkness below. The last thing he heard was a door sliding along it's guide.

Lebron was making Gilbert a ton of money and he was carrying his shitty team to yearly deep playoff runs..
Lebron was a slave to Gilbert..a dog, a servant, a toy..he treated him well because Lebron generated a ton of profits and success for him..
Once Lebron expressed himself and exercised his rights, the slave owner's mentality was exposed, as many Black media members and Black activists pointed out..it was disgraceful..
I would have been upset if Timmy left, but I wouldn't have used racist slurs towards him and turned on him after years of carrying my team..

Cavs fans were way beyond "bitter." They were chanting "asshole" and "Akron hates you" in unison when Lebron returned as a Heat. They cheered for Lebron to fail and reveled in his 2011 defeat. They stopped being Cavs fans and became more like anti-Lebron fans. I don't know which city was happier when the Mavs won, Dallas or Cleveland. You don't think Lebron remembered that? Lebron just wants to see Gilbert and Cleveland beg.

And the way he handled it, he deserved it. Duncan took his time as well, but he didn't go around giving Spurs fan false hope he was coming back when he knew he was leaving. Duncan was honestly weighing options and Drob left his vacation to talk him in coming back, a true testament he puts his teammates first.
Gilbert didn't need the money Lebron was making him. The dude is a billionaire and was before he bought the Cavs. He knows how to make his own money. The guy just let his emotions get the better of him. That happens to everyone.

Katie Girl concurrently released The Bag, her fist and her lips. The ice cold bedroom cascaded through the top of Bum's head as he fell back onto the quilts and the darkness below. The last thing he heard was a door sliding along it's guide.
Chapter Four.
"Bum?......Dennis! Wake up, sweetheart." Her voice was kind and so female. Bum was afraid to open his eyes. He didn't want Dale to be there.
"Where's Dale?"
"Thank goodness, I thought we were going to have to call 911, honey-bun. You passed out, Dennis."
"Where is he, where is your husband?"
"I sent him to get his cell phone, just in case. He'll be right back."
"Oh, God, please don't let him see me like this. He'll tell the guys on the Forum." Bum's voice pleading, his eyes remained tightly clenched.
"Sure, baby. Now don't get it up. I'll be right back. Promise me you won't get up. Dennis, promise Girl." He felt her weight leave the bed.
"I promise, just don't let him in here."
"I promise, angel. I'll bring you back a nice cold class of iced tea. That'll perk ya up, doll."
Bum heard the bedroom door softly close then wearily opened his eyes. He was alone. He started to quickly rise, but, the room started to spin again and he fell back. 'That fuckin' Cubby. I should have known not to come back here to play his damn old Tecmo Super Bowl. When will I ever learn?'
He wanted to flee, to escape, but, a part of him knew that would not be proper. He knew what he was getting into at the Chuckbox when Cubby invited him back to the house. "C'mon, Bumster, I have the old Super Nintendo hooked up and Girl will be there. I want you to meet her. Dude? Bummmmmmmmmmmmmmm? C'mon, dude, your flight doesn't leave until tomorrow morning, you even said so. No motel room for you." That damn sing song way Cubby had made him smile. 'How can I turn this guy down? I can't"
"Okay, Threadster,,," his voice getting into Thread mode. "Lead the way."
A soft rapping on the door brought him to the fore. "Dennis, may I come in, it's Girl? I'm alone, Cubby is watching "Welcome Back Kotter" on the cable."
It was then that Bum noticed he was naked from the waist down, his belly button full of his stuff. 'I wanna go home, or, at least to the Red Roof Inn.'
Another rap on the door, this one more insistent. "Bu......Dennis, are you okay?"
"Yes, uh, Mrs. Robin, uh, Gir, uh, Ka...just a second." He snatched his underwear off the quilt and laid them over his belly then pulled the deep blue blanket over his lower extremes.
"It's okay now, uh....." His voice trailed off as the door opened and Girl, her face wide with relief came forth with a tray.
"Well, you look like you're on the mend." She set the tray down on the nightstand, then propped his back up with a large support pillow, the kind he'd seen at Target, but, never bought, not in a million years.
"You gave us such a scare, youngster." She tousled his brown hair, her touch gentle and kind, her eyes just as genuine meeting his.
"How much did Dale see?"
"Oh, forget about him, he'd never tell. He'll be at that television and his Tootsie Roll Midgees now for quite a spell. I want you to drink this tea, it will perk you right up, put some color in those cheeks. C'mon, baby."
The tea was ice cold and refreshed him immediately. She took the glass and ran it slowly back & forth across his furrowed brow. "Relax, pumpkin."
"I think I made a mess on your blanket, Girl."
"No fuss, I'll just pop it in the washer tomorrow morning, good as new. Now you, young man are in for the night. Cubby will sleep on the couch as usual. He likes to watch his Hitchcock in the middle of the night and be with his buddies on that site you guys joined."
"He won't tell, will he, Girl. God, I'd be so embarrassed if they even found out I'd been her...." She interrupted Bum by putting her finger across his lips, silencing him.
"He won't tell. He never tells."

I know most of SpursTalk wouldn't understand, but for a Black man to be treated the way Lebron was treated by Dan Gilbert is unforgivable, tbh..all the progress we have made, only for an owner of a team to react like an angry slave master after Lebron exercised his right to choose another team as a Free Agent at the end of his contract..disgraceful..
A coon like Kobe or Dad Killer or Tom Rivers would love to play for Massa Gilbert, but not Lebron..no fucking chance:lol..let alone the racist fans that showered him with slurs while he lost to Boston while carrying his 1-man team in 2010..

If Lebron leaves that'd be pretty shocking tbh. My guess would be that if he signs with miami, he signs a 3-yr max deal with with an opt-out option after the second year. Gives him a max contract with some options so he's not deadlocked. If it's the Cavs, it's the full 4-year max.

Letter still an issue for LeBron
Updated: July 11, 2014, 8:06 AM ET
By Chris Broussard | ESPN The Magazine
One reason, if not the major reason, that LeBron James has taken so long to decide whether to play in Miami or Cleveland next season is the infamous letter Cavaliers owner Dan Gilbert penned about James after the superstar left Cleveland in 2010, sources said.
In the letter, written in Comic Sans font, Gilbert called James a "coward" and mocked the many nicknames and catchphrases attached to James, such as "King James," "The Chosen One" and "Witness."
The letter remained on the Cavs' website for the past four years until the team removed it earlier this week.
While James recognizes that informing Cavs fans and Gilbert, who was told of James' decision to leave Cleveland in a telephone call five minutes before it was announced, on national television was a mistake, he is still wrestling with whether or not to return to play for Gilbert's team.
"If it wasn't for that letter, this would've been done awhile ago," one source said.
While there have been rumblings about Gilbert and James clearing up their differences in the past, no such discussion or meeting has ever been confirmed. What is known is that Gilbert has never issued a public apology to James.
Sources close to James said Thursday that the four-time MVP wanted to speak with his family before making his decision. Many around the NBA have wondered what there was left to talk about, but James' concerns about the Gilbert letter is a plausible explanation.
While league executives wait for James to make his announcement, many refuse to believe he'll return to Cleveland to play for Gilbert. Some even believe it would be hypocritical after how powerfully James spoke out against Los Angeles Clippers owner Donald Sterling after racist comments by Sterling were made public in May.
James was the first player to speak out against Sterling, saying he had no place in the NBA.
"He condemned Sterling but he's going back to the [expletive] who nearly called him an uppity [expletive]," one league executive said. "Hypocrite."

Dwyane Wade left cross-country flight with LeBron James to Miami still unsure of which way James is leaning, sources tell Yahoo Sports.

He can now stay with Miami and put the blame squarely on the owner who never aplogized.
If Lebron has played this game just to get his last slap at Gilbert...
Brilliant. This is what I'm starting to think too. Seems like he's already panicking about the Cleveland backlash when he picks Miami so he's making sure his people and the media are pushing the whole "I'm still mad at the letter" storyline. It's a bitch move and only sounds like a legitimate reason to idiots and dickriders.

I am sure Wade knows. Still, LeBron will be the one to announce. There won't be any leaks.

I don't think so, I think is just another ploy by Lebron and his camp to delay his decision w/ out backlash from the media. Giving them another story to spin. He is not making it today.
I believe that he will announce during the World Cup final with hundred's of million of people tuned into the ESPN affiliate networks worldwide, probably in a halftime interview. He is a holding to his roots of being a drama queen and a media whore.

the letter excuse is a joke and needs to be put behind, Lebron and Gilbert are grown ass men, how a comic san letter still causing a strain is amusing to me.:lol

LOL listening to Cleveland sportstalk, and they were talking about how they had interviewed Gilbert many times since 2010 and that he said he felt bad about the letter. So then they went back to their archives and listened, and the two interviews they found are of Gilbert defending the letter. :lol
But they won't play it because they say it'll be on sportscenter on an infinite loop if they do broadcast it. :lol

LeBron will run out onto the pitch during the World Cup Final like a Premier League streaker, screaming, "Cleveland! Cleveland! I'm coming home!!!" :lol

Wouldn't be surprised if the Cavs' FO leaked that shit to Woj as a response to Gilbert's temper tantrum being back in the news :lol

No one can even take this seriously now. I hope LeBron goes to Miami and stands behind Pat Riley as he addresses the media prior to the decision before hitting him with a chair in the back tbh.

With Jim Ross announcing. :lol
:lol Lebron planned this shit all along. He let his camp leak information to the more gullible reporters that he is favoring Cleveland. Lebron just wants revenge on Cleveland and Gilbert the way they treated him the last 4 years. So he makes it appear that he's leaning towards Cleveland just to pull out at the last second and then makes sure everyone knows it's because of Gilbert's letter. At the same time, he wanted to make Arison sweat so Arison wouldn't pull any more penny pinching stunts in the future.

If the letter thing is true and not a Broussard invention, IMO, it was really leaked by Miami as a response to the "LeBron didn't like Riley's press conference! LeBron and his inner circle felt disrespected by the Heat!" crap that Cleveland was peddling yesterday, tbh....

Lebron is getting a feel of the situation. The fact he didn't commit to Miami after the meeting is probably a strong indication he's really leaning towards Cleveland.
Lebron gave Riley his due respect and attended the meeting as a courtesy even though he pretty much knows the pitch.Next move would be his agent notifying Miami brass about Lebron's intention to leave, followed by advising Gilbert that Lebron is coming back to Cleveland.
You don't need insiders and sources to read between the lines.

:lmao I have been telling you motherfuckers that Lebron was never going to leave and look what is happening!! Harlem and CN also have been preaching the same thing. Cleveland was never going to land Lebron. They deserve every bit of this heatbreak. They had 7 years to make it right for Lebron. They don't get a second chance. Miami is the right place for Lebron James. He'll go back to the Cavs when he is 35-36 years old, tbh.
