No i know a lot of about faith i use to be a avid church attendee, and even a founding member of the Jay Christian Fellowship at my high school. I then just started to use my brain and put logic into religion and it all seems a bit lagging by far. The problem here is not one between religion and science. It is when people use their ignorance or science's ignorance in order to prove that there is a god. That is an established pattern for how to develop myths.

Religion can play a part in life and it may be a very important one to many. Science can in no way rule out the existance of a God and the general goal of the scientific community is not to rule out God!

When you get sick, do you go to a hospital or a priest? When you need something fixed, do you call the appropriate company or do you look up the answer in the bible? Joe, it proves that there is a chemical reaction going on inside of your brain that can be interrpreted as love by you. It isn't about PHD anybody saying something, it is about studies being done that show proof of what they are seeking to explain.

I can't agree with this. Humans may not be worthy or relevant enough for the supreme being to reveal himself to us at this point. That's assuming the supreme being would actually care. Humans may not be developed enough yet. However, there are civilizations in other parts of the universe that possibly have a better grasp than we do.

So she didn't like all the scantily clad women around us and she turned to sin and had a drink that was much too strong for her...

I was distracted as I was conversing with my pops on the phone to make my NFL bets...picked 8 winners and 1 loser. and out of those, my Dad had bad feelings about one of the winners and the 1 losing team as well...

if I had listened? 7-0.

as it was we just did a 4 team parlay, won that.

a three team parlay. won that.

a two team palay. won that.

turned 100 into 430. tada!

and won 40 on the roulette wheels there as well....

"If" is the key word in your post Manny. I don't go by a definition. I have an individual relationship with Jesus Christ who I believe died on a cross so that I can be forgiven of my sins and have eternal life. I believe in His word (the bible).
Religion to me is if I were to pray the same thing prayer everyday. I don't need to be healed of a certain sickness everyday. Tomorrow I may be depressed for some reason. Religion is geography based....if you were born on the steps of Tibet, you'll most likely be Bhuddist. If you were born in Poland you would be 99% Roman Catholic...so what does this mean....hmm....each person has evolved in each of these regions haven't they. You, myself, and that person over there chooses whether or not to believe this or that is right. Am I correct? If you really study as to what "Christianity" is, its pretty simple. Its being Christ like. Do you agree? Well, if you read the bible carefully (which Christians should do) then you would read that when Jesus was here on land that He lived His life according to the Spirit of God.
In the bible it states in certain scripture that, "Jesus was led by the Spirit" and so on. That's how my relationship with God is. I try to live my life by letting God's Spirit direct me. I fail at times because of my human nature. Its not that I am trying to twist definitions around.

I am not strong enough by myself to use good judgement all the time. Temptation and the need to escape stress are too strong for me to stay away from sin. I've been there bro, Marijuana, excessive drinking, i'm talking mucho tequila, throwing up every weekend, mostly after binge eating while stupid drunk....lusting after women...feeling insecure....snorted cocaine 3 times in my life...thank God that demon never got me...over eating like a mutherfucker...people don't get to be 370 pounds like I was without trying to find comfort and escape from food....

I still have innerdemons...i'm killing them one at a time...my dad walked out on me when i was 3. left me waiting and crying on my Gma's front porch when i was 8. had an insecure stepdad with puertorican blood and a military background that needed to be in control of EVERYTHING...overheard him tell my mom's he'd kill her if she didn't have 'that kid' in the other room...he would test me over and over, i would inevitably fail and he would tell how rotten a kid i was...Was a FAT, REDHEADED STEPCHILD, Growing up in the 80's with no siblings (half bros and sisters I have, but they didn't live with me) bad hair, bad clothes, geeky glasses, etc, etc, etc...

then i got my Engineering degree in '97...by the grace of God...didn't even have a 2.5 gpa...they should have failed my ass and made me take another semester. Got out of school, made mom's proud, I was her son engineer! but i was miserable. i didn't want to be an engineer. then i thought, hey, i could be a teacher. i was a sub and a permanant sub off and on for a couple years...but i was insecure. about this time i found alcohol and weed. it helped me escape. Then in 99, i found Friedrich A/C and became the Engineer everyone wanted me to be. I was proud of myself. I was miserable after a few months. I had more money than i had before, the respect that comes from being an Engineer...but I didn't respect or LOVE myself. It was destroying me. That's why i turned to SPURSTALK in the 1st place...Mouse made me laff...Spurstalk became my daily escape from my 10x10 prison! I loved my coworkers...my friends...but the climate at Friedrich was bad. it started at the top. Insecure people. it trickled down to the bottom and people knew not to rock the boat or they would get thrown overboard...but the fact was, the boat was/is sinking anyway...

for 6 years, I was AFRAID OF GETTING FIRED! Then ONE DAY, It hit me. I Quit. I took control and now I am FREE! and I have NEVER BEEN HAPPIER IN MY LIFE!

All that shit was destroying me for so long...but it's all gone now...flushed down the toilet...i still remember, but I don't hurt any longer. I dropped my personal demons and set myself free. Took me almost 31 years...but now i'm on my way.
