I used to think this was true, but honestly I'm not sure you understand how difficult it is to play against that big of a ref impact. The sad thing is I expected it to be almost that bad, so it wasn't quite as hard to take.
No, you should focus on the spurs and pop how mental midget they are year after year...

Screamin A Smith obviously has an agenda on ESPN. That poor performance and loss by the SPURS, in his opinion, was due to LMA. PLEASE. Does he even watch the games?
The BENCH DIED in that series. David West was awful. Manu could not make any plays. Mills was really bad.
Kawhi and LMA did not get enough help this series. Danny Green showed me a lot out there. He competed hard and did a good job.
Tim Duncan busted his butt tonight - I hope he comes back, but his knees may not allow that.
Tony Parker was average at best. 34 year old point guards don't discover the fountain of youth.
SA needed more good play from more people and did not get it. Every key player on that Supersonics Squad that played is under 29 years of age - they have not had many long playoff runs since they eventually always flame out.
That Oklahoma team reached the brink of falling apart and the Spurs bailed them out.
That group will probably lose in 5 games to GSW. I'm not that impressed with a bunch of undisciplined, out of control volume shooters that beat a team with two good front line players and a legend past his prime. The Warriors will go through the Supersonics like shit through a chicken, you can count on that.

Then don't watch and stay off spurstalk - lowlife troll.
Yes, I was a fool letting me get once again engage, I should have known better that this season would end once again in the most disappointing and hurting way knowing we so cursed team... But now with Duncan out i will have much less emotional connection to the team, but i still have to live with that ugly way he is walking off instead of retiring year or two ago...

Outshot 31-16 at the line and outrebounded by 10. The refs let them play and Spurs can't match that physicality.
Now OKC will get to deal with all of Draymond's moving screens.
If they let them play, how come OKC shot 31 FTs? They did not let them play. Twice as many free thows for OKC. That included 2 tech FTs for the 16 for SA.

Three of those FT were Anderson at the end too, right?
Thunder are good at drawing fouls. Spurs are good at avoiding fouling. The former won out.

So now you all see that there is no doubt we are a cursed team and that the all time biggest dissepointments we always having are writing from above and inevitable? Adding now to the story a 67 wins team and 40 home wins team melting down and collaps in the semi against a lesser team with rookie coach and that the superstar head is more in free agency and thinking where his next stop... Cursed team! Accept it!!

Most ugly, sad and humiliating season that could have been, i preferred even not to make the playoff instead of this, at least would not have the dissepointment and humiliating of a great regular season discover as a pretender and losing once again in falling under the pressure fashion... We are a cursed team no doubt for years now and it's only getting worse!
Agreed, somewhat. I called this season a nightmare after the Game 5 disaster. 67 wins, but it always felt like this team was doomed to collapse. I think we'd all be whistling a different tune if the Spurs instead lost to Golden State, but nevertheless this feels like a devastating waste. Duncan probably gone, Manu probably gone, Aldridge arrives yet flames out the day after his old team did, all after a record season that will only be remembered for the what ifs.

Curry, LBJ or Westbrick will ring. That's a shit fucking sandwich. I don't see much reason to stay glued to the tele. This is good news for the league though. They're gonna get their ratings.
I want a Cavs/Duds rematch to settle "injury" agendas to bed once & for all.
Gaymond/WestBrick & Adams/Bogut is must watch TV by itself b/c of all the shenanigans. Barnes is also going to be fighting for his job.:lol

Adams should be able to beast against GS. Especially if Bogut doesn't heal up.

Seriously fuck this team. How could you score the LOWEST POINTS IN A HALF DURING THE SEASON IN A FUCKING ELIMINATION GAME? 31 points. Golden State got almost 20 points in a 5 minute overtime period. Spurs deserved to lose this series and deserve to be a lottery team next year. There was no heart. It took a 40 year old GOAT Tim Duncan to carry this team in Game 6. That's pathetic.

So OKC has had calls go in their favor. Confidence growing. Hitting big shots from all of their players. Rebounding well. More free throws in 4 out of 5 games and yet? SA has been in every game, including the past two with double digit leads.
OKC may have confidence. They may be hitting shots. They may present rebounding problems. They are getting calls. They are dominating the free throw disparity. Spurs are still right there. The Spurs have the higher ceiling to change fortunes.
I saw this yesterday but was shocked you truly would believe this without homer glasses. I didnt expect a beatdown ...and i still sorta believed Spurs could force a game 7 but it had more to do with a lack of trust in okc to close than the Spurs putting it all together ...i knew Ducan had a 20 pt game in him (i said 30 before playoffs) but Spurs just looked a step slow these past few games and with only 1 day rest they lost every game ...i think you were seeing that with your heart not your mind Deeps.

The bench was just a no show after game one. Duncan is an all timer and the reason I watched the whole game was to see what he could do. The Spurs simply could not get enough out of the "other guys". OKC had a bunch of guys (many of whom were lottery picks originally) play at a higher level overall. The were all in their athletic prime.
Parker, Duncan, and Manu could not possibly match their historical production at this point in time. Leonard and LMA did not get enough help to make that extra play or two in games 4 and 5. OKC will get smoked in the next round count on that.

Blah, the other guys, OKCīs other guys.
This game was decided when Robertson was able to contain Leonard one on one, and Adams was able to contain Aldridge.
Our best players didnīt play well, the "others" doesnīt matter if your best player is unable to take advantage on a possession, they are both bad, really bad, at passing once they get the advantage, especially Leonard who doesnīt recognize when to pass the ball.
The beautiful game, or the passing game the Spurs used during the 2013 and 2014 runs worked because our main players Tim, Tony and Manu, had really bought into it, they would start the possession with the ball in their hands, and once theyīve got and advantage on their defender they would pass out and commence a sequence with the defense trying to react, neither Leonard or Ardridge is good at recognizing when they have an advantage and the passing should begin.

And was terrible. For what he did I would have rather seen Simmons.
Simmons would have dunked that open layup and the open 3 point shot would at least hit the center for the ring.
PATFO messed things up by considering bringing in both Miller and Martin. If Butler was still in the team, he would have been more credible defending Durant than Anderson.

True, both Leonard and Aldridge aren't great passers. Parker and Manu are no where near capable of breaking down their defender to gain an advantage. Diaw has trouble in the post against much bigger centers. There was nobody really who could set up the offense.

Truth hurts. Spurs did not have that offensive mentality that could blow away opponents or catch up to insurmountable leads..
The role players were all hesitant to shoot when free. I was like everyone wanted to play conservative offense and it showed. With zero open looks, nobody bothered to be aggressive enough to find an open look. Look at how GSW plays, it is like every player has the green like to shoot from 3.
I had thought that Pop had been keeping his cards close to himself until the playoffs. Unfortunately, once revealed in the first game, OKC adjusted their defense and it was game over. Spurs did not make any adjustments in their offense.

Man, Rasual Butler. I'm still a little mad that we let him go. I truly believed he could have helped us in the playoffs and now seeing how the season went down, I'm certain of it that he could have done more than Miller or Martin in the playoffs for us. Even if it was for only 5 minutes, I'm sure he could have made more of an impact.
I still have no idea why they kept Bonner over him. Fucking disgusting to let go of a player that was contributing during the season to keep someone that had no chance of helping. I understand the loyalty thing, but it's not like some other team would have scooped up Bonner or wanted him. The Spurs would have given him a job in the front office, he would have been OK for work, wouldn't have been jobless for long.

I don't agree with you on Butler, but I agree on Simmons. I have to think that ankle injury held him back bc he would have been a better option than Martin. Martin was a cancer. Spending the last 18 or so games of the season getting him settled in was a waste. POP should have continued developing his young players and not waste those minutes on Martin.

This is the worst I've seen the Spurs play in an elimination game.
Last year close,
2014 Dallas win,
2013 Miami close,
2012 OKC close,
2011 Memphis close,
2010 suns somewhat close,
2009 Dallas closer than this.
2008 lakers, kind of close,
2006 mavs close,
2005 Pistons win,
2004 lakers somewhat close,
can't remember after that
2001 happened although they were clearly over-matched from the start of the series.

No need to even bring up Jordan, Durant had a miserable 2nd rd series when he was 24.
