Put Kawhi in the context of 73-win team with a reigning MVP PG and a DPOY favourite + another all-time shooter and comeback to me :lol..Kawhi was neck and neck with him #s wise while carrying that shitty ass roster..
I think amb posted durant had the better metrics when he went down ...
LeBron could also say the same if he was on a 73 win team ...but he is not.
Besides saying Kiwi had a better year is different than saying he is the greater player.
Russ harden and Kiwi had better years ...but LeBron is still the best player and KD is a notch below that ...
Leonard is coming hard no doubt about it ...

At this point, I want the Warriors to sweep them pretty badly so just for the league to see this shit product it's having (a blowout central otherwise called "playoffs" brought by a single gutless free agency move and the preponderance of the 3-ball in today' schemes) and for other free agents to get demoralized into joining forces with Kawhi in SA..
Yeah, the only downside would be them going 16-0 (even though it would come with an asterisk due to Leonard's injury).
I know the Cavaliers are a sub par defensive team, but there's no surer sign that something needs to be done, than the best player in the league, with two other top 20-25 players and the most depth of three-point shooting in the league, being unable to play a competitive series . . . what's worse, anyone with an ounce of knowledge knew they couldn't.
Paul is more than likely not enough, but the Spurs are his best bet and vice versa, if either side even wants to pretend to have a chance.
:lol spurfans think they'd have a shot with frog+retard
Spurs were up 23 when Klaw went down. If you do the math, they win the series by something like 94 points if Kawhi doesn't get injured.

:lmao As if there's anything any coach can do about this. This is a product of an unfair talent advantage borne of sheer luck (Curry's early career ankle issues having him on a bargain contract and Thompson's and Green's being up for extensions before the cap boon), a coward and style of play in an era.
You give players as skilled as Curry and Durant acres of space (because of the surrounding shooting) and allow virtually no contact against them and there's nothing any defense can do.
Lue, like most coaches in every sport, doesn't really help or hurt his team, but if he were white, he'd be hailed as a genius.

I'm discrediting that as a talking point the Spurs had a chance. The dubs looked incompetent, I'd wager the Spurs would still win that one game by less than 15 - the dubs would come back better and still show up after 5-6 games to face the Cavs. I honestly think it's delusional when GNSF think Kawhi was going to lead them past the dubs if he stayed healthy.

Too much talent on dubs and nobody is being a cancer yetof the two RS games the Spurs/Dubs played where both teams had most their guys, Spurs went 1-1, winning by 20+ in one game and was up 15-20(?) in the game they lost. That's regular season, so you take that with a grain of salt, but to then come into game 1 @ oracle and still go up 20+, i think that shows a pattern there.
It's too bad we'll never know for sure, but i think it's ridiculous to say the dubs for sure would have won the series. Especially when all the evidence points to towards the Spurs being able to beat them handily on multiple occasions.

This Finals has about as much appeal to me as getting excited over a bag of rice cakes. That being said Durant took the easy road and it looks like it gonna pay off, Cavs look to be swept I would be surprised if they win 1 game vs this team. Curry is playing really good these Finals, add in KD and some good defense, passing, shooting, these guys are a headache. They got very lucky vs Spurs with all the injurys and ZaZa should never buy a house in San Antonio.

Even in the game the Spurs were up by 23... I'm of the opinion the Dubs would have come back....the Dubs clearly was looking forward to the Cavs....they never took the Spurs seriously AT ALL....only a fool would think otherwise. Nobody's "carrying" anything on this Warriors team. Durbeta is getting a steady diet of single coverage and wide-open shots because the Cavs defense needs to pay more attention to Curry. If he was as dominant as the stat lines make him look, he'd have finished the Warriors off last year when he was up 3-1.

Wade showed up, Bosh showed up. The game was close all the way until the final minute. Lebron got out-scored by the mascot in this game :lol Even YOU can't make an excuse for 6 fuckin points in a Finals game. You just can't. I can understand if Lebron was playing Godly defense or doing something important out there like trying to shut down Dirk but he wasn't. He was a ghost. At least Durant is making the most of his free ticket to a ring. Prime Lebron shit the bed and got out-scored by a goddamn 6th man bench player in his first Finals with the Heat.
I hate this Warriors team so much but damn if they aren't difficult to stop. I'm not sure you could put together a better team from the rest of the stars in the league. Interested to see who wins FMVP. Based on the numbers so far, Durant is the frontrunner but will the whole "he joined a 73-win team" affect the voting? Also, Curry hasn't got one yet so... It's pretty obvious the two of them have been trying to one up each other, stat-padding in garbage time.
While the Warriors are clearly the better team, the Cavs aren't giving themselves a chance with the way they've been playing. Only LeBron (and to a certain extent Love) has played well.
1) I don't know why they insist on running with the Warriors. They're better off trying to slow the game down. They'd still lose but it would help reduce the amount of Warriors fastbreaks and overall possessions while potentially saving some of LeBron's stamina.
2) The role players don't know their roles. Shumpert taking bad shots, JR Smith not taking shots, Tristan Thompson suddenly becoming unplayable, etc.
3) Terrible defensive effort from everyone, at times even from LeBron. I don't blame him though, the way his teammates have been playing, I'd be disinterested too. They need to kick it up a notch, especially Irving. He has been absolutely pathetic.

KD carries the ball on every trip, so does Lebron and Curry. You cannot stop the ball mid air, change directions and keep dribbling without carrying the ball. They either call that shit or the rules of basketball are useless, might as well run down the court holding the ball, hell make it football.

LeBron had a trip-dub and Kevin Love played well and yet the Warriors blew the Cavs out of the water in Game 2. The Dubs shot < 45% as a team in Game 1 and had 20 turnovers in Game 2 and still won by 22 and 19 points. I don't know what else Cleveland can do, maybe don't shit the bed so hard in third quarters so they have a decent chance?

They got that collection through good drafting.
KD moving to Golden State is just a product of the system and him looking out for his best interests. I don't think we should crucify him for that.
LeBron has had the benefit of super teams he created for the past 7 seasons, in which he was a perfect 7 of 7 in finals appearances, but LeBronstans will keep on denying that because fuck Durant, right?

Conveniently ignoring the fact that most of the Warriors squad was built from the ground up and was a result of good drafting and prudent deals. KD was the only superstar piece that they got through free agency, and I don't think you should crucify Durant or the Warriors organization for seeing a legal way to get that deal done. If Durant went to the Spurs, were up 2-0 up against the Cavs in the finals, and eventually swept the playoffs, will you not really count that as a title?

Who cares if they built it from the ground up. It was just luck that they got a bunch of their guys on cheaper contracts below market value. I don't blame the Warriors for doing it. I blame Durant for wanting to hop on that train after they choked and beat his own team, who could have/should have won that series and possibly the Championship after eliminating what I thought was a very good Spurs team.
If he had issues with Russell Westbrook and wanted to leave because of that, he could have chosen a different team such as Boston to be the leader of if he was mentally stronger. If he didn't want people to view him as some weakling that jumped on a bandwagon, he could have looked past both Goldenstate and the Spurs and went with Boston. They have a bright future and he could have been the undisputed leader there. He chose to be the biggest pussy in NBA history. It's OK, you can think what you want. It will not change my opinion on him at all. Doesn't matter how many Championships that he wins.

It was all legal so I guess I have to be OK with it. It will now be a challenge to try and knock these guys off. That can be fun too. Trying to take out a giant like the one Goldenstate have assembled will be interesting. I'd like to see some more super teams to try and match them. I don't think traditional teams with one or two superstars plus role players will get it done anymore.

Just because it was put together by drafting doesn't mean it was any less of a stacked superteam.
Why shouldn't Durant be "crucified" for going to the Warriors when LeBron still gets shit on to this day for free agency moves that were nowhere near as egregious? At least when LeBron went to the Heat, the league was still competitive and Miami was still vulnerable sometimes in the playoffs. It was much better for the fans than this garbage.

That's just playing a semantics game. When you have three eventual MVP candidates on the same team, it's a superteam. Doesn't matter how you got them.
The West/Baylor/Wilt Lakers were being referred to as a superteam decades before unrestricted free agency was even a thing.
It was so competitive in their eyes that LeBron literally started to count how many rings they were going to win - on the day they were presented. :lol
And? Would you prefer he tried to blow smoke up everyone's ass about how he "took the hardest road" like Durbeta did? Regardless, it doesn't matter what LeBron said at the time. The product on the court was still competitive and the Heat were still vulnerable at times. I'll never understand this idea that words said at a pep rally in 2010 trump four years' worth of on-court results.

I'm talking about actual fans of the sport. Not normalfags who only watch the Finals every year because everyone else is and they need something to talk about around the water cooler.
For the people who actually watch the NBA from October through June, the league was a better product in the Heat/Spurs era than it is right now. There's no argument against it other than "muh ratings," which will go away once even the casuals realize we're in for 5+ more years of this trash. Pre-Warriors, there were tons of great playoff series. This year, you could count the number of good playoff games on one hand.

Well I'm convinced: this is the best team I have seen since I started watching the NBA in the mid 80s.
Adding an MVP player to a team that is already been to the finals twice. And has a unanimous MVP already.
If the league allows it, I guess I can't blame beta for making that decision

When he loses a step later in his career and still has nothing at all to fall back on besides volume chucking, it's a wrap. He's garbage and certainly not the "superstar" that haters have built him up to be to discredit LeBron.

So predictable it's depressing. As soon as Cavs go down by 10-12 lbj will start chucking and it'll instantly be a 15-20 point lead. Cavs will then proceed to run around like chickens with their heads cut off while GS casually drains 3's.
