Better to give him a minute of game time in the third plus the break and a couple of possessions in the fourth than have him play the whole quarter when he's already looking almost out of gas. The Dubs are going to pull away bigtime when Lue has to pull him with about 8 minutes left.

He could have easily bought him a minute there at the end of the third without killing the team since those last couple of possessions are played at a slow pace. Then try to steal a couple of possessions in the fourth. Now Lue was forced to pull James at a critical point with 9 minutes left during a GSW run. It's disaster because James probably won't be back until the 7:00 mark now while GS is hot.

I can't believe Lue didn't pull him when he missed that rebound. Thanks to his stubbornness he got four minutes of gassed and worthless LeBron. Now he's going to get 8:30 minuntes of gassed LeBron. You pull him for that minute, add in the quarter break, and try to hold on for two minutes then call a timeout and you have 10 minutes of fresh LeBron to try to steal the game. Impossible. Steph will already be 30 next season. Iggy will be 33. Livingston 32, Durant 29. They'll get 1 more strong run out of this core and that'll be that. This was their ultimate peak season. It gets much much tougher next year. That retarded line of "the next 5 years" was used when the Lakers repeated at 15-1 and they rang once more after that with the same core. That 2001 Laker team also had a much better run never trailing by more than 14 points, going unbeaten on the road, and having a dominant big man.

Hell, the Warriors still even showed signs of mortality during this 16-1 run when they couldn't have played any better.

Lebron was a monster this series. Averaging 34/12/10 is insane.

He didn't have any defining moments or big time shots, but its hard to do that with the 22nd ranked defense in the 16-17 season up against possibly the best offense of all time.

It's as if the stats never imprint the game when you're allowing 122 PPG

They have a window of 3 years if they don't fuck up with who they surround their quadcore lineup. Steph would be 33, Durant would be 32, Klay and Draymond would be 30 by then. I find it hard that they would suddenly fall off a cliff by that age. They'll still be elite. Decisions have to made with Iggy and Livingston. They shouldn't hold on to them for too long. Thank them for being a part of a wonderful run, but they shouldn't keep them in Golden State in longer contracts. However, if it comes to a decision on who to keep, I'd keep Iggy more than Livingston.

They shouldn't hold on to ring chasers as well. If they find better replacements for West, Pachulia and McGee, they should go after those replacements. No one's gonna help them through trades so they're gonna have to do it through smart drafting and treading free agency carefully.

What's worse, was Kerr and West desperately trying to sell the notion that this was "difficult". Durant and West aren't real champions and I'm not even sure the initial core is.

They didn't have to beat a single elite team in '15 to win it and have looked unnerved and vulnerable at the slightest bit of adversity the previous 2 years. As much as the Cavaliers needed a bunch of breaks to beat them in '16, they were fortunate to survive the Thunder in the first place.

Now, we'll never know and to me that taints all of their "legacies", especially Curry's.

I don't get "worked up" and "emotional"; it's a message board and even outside of it, I don't care to the extent I did pre '14. I was pissed for maybe a half hour after game 1 of the WCF because of the Leonard injury, but that's about it.

If it's not glory-hunting, it is a bandwagon leap of epic proportions in its ludicrousness.

It's the highest rated playoff game outside of game 7 in the history of ABC but not the highest rated playoff game ever(NON-Game 7). Anyways it doesn't surprise me why the ratings were so high. You have a lot of GS bandwagon fans in the whole entire state of California and you have a bunch of people who believed this series would be close due to what happened last year. I knew a lot of idiots who believed even after game 3 that the Cavs could comeback and win the series based off of them coming back from 3-1 last year. If these teams meet up again next year I don't think they will get ratings that are that high. They will still get above average ratings due to the California market.

Parker, Ginobili were unplayable in the playoffs in clutch situations as rookies. Leonard was the weak link out of TD/Manu/TP/Jackson/Leonard late game lineups in '12. Duncan was good as a rookie but D-Rob was still clinging to alpha status at the time.

What are you on about? Tim Duncan was superior to Dak and Zeke as a rookies (that's two players and it was a combo deal for Dallas). TD was a top 10 player in the NBA and the Spurs' go to guy in the playoffs.

Parker was also very good in his first ever playoffs and although Manu wasn't an overall top 3 player on the team, he came up clutch helping us win a Championship in his first year.

Parker shriveled up like crazy against the Lakers in '02. Very green and often unplayable, got lost on offense when they packed the paint and a huge liability on defense.

Manu had a couple plays in the '03 playoffs but he was definitely a bench player that year and down on the rotation all year. Mainly because that was such a deep team with all those vets.

That wasn't the reason why he was down in the rotation for most of the year. Manu suffered a major ankle injury during the World Championships of Basketball in '02. It caused him to miss a lot of training camp and when he comeback it still wasn't hundred percent. The ankle limited his playing time for most of the year until he fully recovered.

He re-injured it once in early November 2002 and again a week or two before all-star weekend. But let's not forget that one of his best games of that regular season was the very first game in October 2002 in LA when we beat the Lakers for the first time out of many (8 total) that year. The next 2-3 months were pretty bad for him, though. A lot of zero point games with less than 10 minutes of playing time.

I remember his first game very well. I remember Tim played horrible in that game but the Spurs still won the game due to Speedy,Malik, and Drob playing really well along with Manu. There was one point of the game where Manu had made some amazing hustle plays that it got Kobe's attention. After one of the plays Kobe ended up asking Bruce who is this guy. Steve Smith had a groin injury in that game which paved the way for Jax to get minutes. Had that injury not happened Jax does not eventually become a starter.

Yep, Tim was trash because he was in foul trouble. That one gave me hope that maybe we had a better supporting cast than we'd had in years.

Of course, the Spurs really limped out of the gates that year and for stretches in Nov, Dec, Jan it was looking like the Spurs were worse than the last year, middle of the playoff standings first or second round playoff fodder, and D-Rob was going to retire on a mediocre, uninspiring note.

Boy was I wrong.
