Not better than the pair.

Disagree big time. The pair are basically net negative players. Beal, despite having to manufacture for himself over the years, is definitively a slightly below all-star player. It’s not really that close either other than the fact it’s the Lakers and their “upside” will forever be pitched and believed despite the evidence.

I can't disagree with this, but it's moot because Maginka is going after a big star. Beal's contract kills that possibility cap wise.

I'd be cool with KCP and one of Kuz or Ingram (+ contract filler), but not both of them for Beal.

When Wall went down last year, Beal almost single handedly kept them afloat. He's underrated IMO.

Oh for sure; definitely not saying LA should go all-in for Beal. They have bigger fish they are hoping for (AD, Kawhi, KD). Was just saying on value alone, it should be a no-brainer to trade Kuz/Ingram for Beal basketball wise. LA would be significantly better and WASH would be worse.

It's a tricky situation for me. I just "knew" we would get LMA (he's a Spur). Then I just "knew" PG13 would come home (stayed in OKC). If Maginka isn't hearing strong back channel signals from either of AD, KD or Kiwi's camps, he should pull the trigger on a deal for Beal. We have about a little more than 2 weeks for Maginka to know for sure.

Randle dropped 37 last night too ...but his deep ball shooting remains iffy. I think we could have used his rebounding and energy and despite our shooting woes ...but I miss him more than Druss. i regret letting Randle walk for nada over tradiing russ for a pick, one year of brook and cap space ...
I really dont get the Small section of the Laker fanbase that are russell loyalists.
He is a much better shooter and pnr player than Lonzo is right now, but ball does everything else better. And Russell struggled his forst 82 games as well.

Only issue I have with Maginka (jury still out on Lonzo but again I wanted Tatum) is more in the way that we handled the russell trade.
Magic shouldnt have trashed him post trade. even if he was right about his lack of leadership I am almost positive that the way he handled Russell (he and Druss share agents) led to randle asking for us not to match salary.
Luke making Randle earn his starting spot last year didnt help but that you cant blame Maginka for that ...

Add to that Getting McGee for the minimum ... Rondo on the cheap ...and getting the Kang ... Maginka is on the positive side of the ledger ...

how is averaging 4.4 Assist per game a fact of elite passing? I'd say his passing / playmaking is below average for a starting pg. There's plenty of pgs who were able to have a positive offensive rating despite being incapable of shooting. He is not one of them. And most importantly, he doesn't pass the eye test.

Agreed. If the rumors I'm hearing of a 3-team trade has any legs (LAL/PELS/Magic deal), I think Mo Bamba, Isaac and Zo would be a nice young nucleus for the Magic to build around.

Hate to see him go down but this is good for us. Hell, I've seen them get swept by the Magic with him. So him being out won't be so bad. :lol

Last night we were up 19 when Kang went down (notice the Dubs were not "confident" until he went down which is PATHETIC :lol). At home, they erased the lead and cut it to 2 points. Then Playoff Rondo showed up. We went back up as much as 31 points before winning by a few measly 26 points. Bron played 21 minutes before he went down and we still won. :toast
