but states aren't sentient beings with opinions. one state one vote is an absurd concept. the "state" represents the will of its people. by having the senate, you are telling us that some people's will matters less than others.

but in the end its in the constitution and so we're stuck with it. amending it certainly isn't going to be feasible because republicans/conservatives will oppose it to preserve political power despite the patent inequality/injustice it produces. having more political power now is more important than any of that stuff

Hate to say this but Obama's endorsement would probably have hurt Beto and I think Obama knows that. It was still a great effort by Beto. Cruz won by 16.0% in 2012 and by only 2.5% in 2016. I'm curious if Beto would consider going after the Texas senate seat that is up for grabs in 2020.
