Ya I'm sure Joe Montana would take this Ravens roster to a Bowl win.
No one said he would, I’m talking just a playoff win. Btw, this is the same roster that had the Bengals on the ropes in Cincy if not for a fluke turnover at the end. They probably win if he plays but he couldn’t bother being there for his teammates because “muh contract”
and before you spout some bullshit injury excuse, he was questionable for just about every game the previous month leading up to kickoff, holding the team hostage as a negotiating tactic.
Joe Montana would’ve played. Even Huntley was injured going into the game and he showed up. People will always make excuses for players like this

Maybe both parties honestly want a separation before big money commitment
Lamar can go to a theoretical Cardinals and offensively showcase. Seems that is currently more important to him than Winning.
And that's understandable. Baltimore is unattractive for athlete and the franchise remains Defensive focused.

Lamar has missed 11 games the past 2 seasons at the most critical time, and held the team hostage last year for selfish reasons. Since his MVP season, in what direction would you say his career is trending, be it measured in individual stats or team success?
Is he injury prone or selfish, Fabbs? It can’t be neither…and regardless of the answer, you don’t give players like that fully guaranteed contracts unless you are the Drowns.

‹In Sunday's 49-13 rout of the winless Cincinnati Bengals, Jackson became the second player in NFL history to produce a perfect passer rating (158.3) in multiple games in a single season. The only other player to do so was Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger, who had two in 2007.

Sure Ralphie,
Mahomes, Joe Montana, Elway, Rothy, Marino etc would have done a whole lot better with this Ravens roster and playcalling the last 2 seasons.

Ok so you’re just going to blame everybody else for his shortcomings and playoff failures, right? If that’s your hill you wanna die on so be it. No sense arguing further with a fanboy
All throughout the year you cried and blamed the refs or his receivers. Despite being good enough to dominate the league in 2019 and go 14-2 he was embarrassing in the playoffs against 9-7 Tennessee, but that must be the teammates. Since then he’s injury prone and now a diva.
You can bump this thread when he’s on his new team and make some predictions. We all know what will happen from you though: new team, new excuses

Baltimores record his entire career without LJ is pathetic.
They definitely want him to stay.
Any trade timeline would most likely be after the draft.
I think LJ would have to play all of this year and 2024 as a Raven to become an Unrestricted FA.
Still wish 49ers would get him but no way are Ravens accepting their injured QBs in a trade return.

its really just been the injuries with him imo
yeah, his passing TD numbers from his MVP season were an outlier. 36 TDs while only having 3100 yards screams outlier. but he's consistently been a good generator of offense on a team that sorely lacks investment in other offensive skill positions. yes, thy drafted JK Dobbins, but he's been hurt more often than not. their only investment in WR was hollywood, who was ok, but then also got hurt and then traded.
2019 will probably not be repeatable but they were the #1 scoring offense in the league that year. but then they were #9 in 2020 as well when he was healthy. their scoring output with huntley has been noticeably worse. averaged less than 12ppg in huntley's starts last year

I'm sure Patty Mahomes and Josh Allen would take this guy to All Pro level.
Another gutsy expensive move by the Ravens to help Lamar.
Laquon Treadwell
Treadwell's journey through the NFL has been a bit more mercurial. Now on his seventh team in five years, the former Ole Miss standout was originally picked No. 23 overall by the Vikings back in 2016. He only once eclipsed 300 receiving yards in four seasons with Minnesota, logging a single catch as a rookie, then spent a year as a reserve for the Falcons.
His fortunes appeared to reverse in 2021 while playing for the Jaguars, posting a career-high 434 yards in 12 games as a quiet favorite of Trevor Lawrence. But Treadwell bounced between the Patriots and Cardinals last offseason before settling with the Seahawks, appearing in just six games.
Now in Baltimore, he figures to contend for a bottom-of-the-depth-chart role with veteran reserves like James Proche II, Andy Isabella and former Bengals backup Mike Thomas.

Merely one aspect, and yes it continued into 2023
Former Ravens criticize departed strength coach, Rashod Bateman fires back at Eric DeCosta - The Baltimore Banner (https://www.thebaltimorebanner.com/sports/ravens-nfl/ravens-strength-coach-steve-saunders-criticism-matthew-judon-derek-wolfe-rashod-batement-eric-decosta-PE2HRMM3TNFXTEEKJDG2DHR5KY/)
Their comments on social media came in the wake of an NFL Players Association survey of players (https://nflpa.com/nfl-player-team-report-cards), released Wednesday, that gave the Ravens’ strength staff an F-minus grade. Only one other team, the Atlanta Falcons, received a grade worse than a B.

You Jackson Haters may have a problem with rookie Jay Flowers.
Looking good in camp so far.
Including YAC. Huge problem for Ravens receivers the last 3 years.
Monken has said he wants to spread the field both vertically and horizontally, creating mismatches and open space for receivers. Last season the Ravens had 33 pass plays of 20 yards or more; only the New York Giants (https://www.bigblueview.com/) had fewer.
“They need more explosive plays,” Baldinger said. “They need more yards after the catch. And some of these offensive principles can provide that.”

Jay Fowler rookie WR is a keeper. Good draft pick. Looking forward to Action Jackson and Fowler hooking up and making you Haters cry some more.
Otherwise, they have 4 good TEs even tho that is the one position that has been satisfactory. Go figure.
The addition of Melvin Gordon III is beyond retarded and yes he contributed to last nights end of a 24 game win streak, albeit Pre Season games.
Just retarded incompetence continued by this GM and Dumbaugh. Stop stealing a roster spot from a deserving player.
Hopefully that is exactly what will happen and one of the other running backs will make the 53.
Backup QB was completely robbed of an endzone TD by butterfingers James Proche. Another shrimp receiver obtained by the GM. Was some defensive pass interference but still very catchable. Welcome to Lamar Jacksons world. Hopefully Proche gets replaced by a good WR.

Ok moving it to this year.
He's 3-1, albeit vs shit teams. Nonetheless in the ONLY game the Ravens lost, did you watch the final 6 minutes.
Perfect pass by Jackson to receiver who had the ball bounce off between his #s.
Would have been chip shot FG with seconds remaining.
Next, in OT another good pass good for another chip shot. Linebacker knows he's fucked so basically just does a tackle on little Zay Flowers the rookie. No call.
You spin will be ya calls get missed.

throughout the game lamar got fucked over by his receivers even more than mahomes did in week 1 tbh. had 7 charted drops, which is just nuts for a single game, multiple of which were TDs
but then the 2 turnovers at the end didnt help, not that the fumble was his fault, he was stripped from behind while in the throwing motion, and wasnt a circumstance where he held the ball for an unreasonable amount of time

I think Patrick has been better with his banged up offense. We are just getting too used to him now to still give him the credit he deserves.
I also think Tua has been awesome.

I would say very good, not great play. Defense played excellent vs Seahawks, altho the Hawks made some really bad plays.
Receivers are catching most of the easily catchable throws, but still have a drop rate that keeps Super Lamar from being 80%+ completion rate.
Odell is just even, neither a plus nor minus thus far. Had a very diva fumble that could have let Hawks back into the game, carrying the ball like it was one of his designer purses. Pathetic.
Rookie running back is excellent. Hope Ravens can keep him healthy.
So, great D and competent running back outside of Hall of Fame Lamars top NFL running ability has them at 7-2. OLine blowing holes last weekend.

"Sunday's game came down to the quarterback play. In the fourth quarter, the Browns' Deshaun Watson was 7-of-7 for 88 yards and a touchdown, while the Ravens' Lamar Jackson was 1-of-5 for 11 yards and an interception, which came off a deflected pass and returned 34 yards for a touchdown.

You think that one's weird, look at his first interception. A pass under thrown by 10 yd? Unless the receiver ran the wrong route that's super whacked out. If the receiver did run the correct route then Jackson's either throwing the game, had a concussion or just flat sucks under pressure. Blake I am most definitely no longer defending him. The fourth quarter stats and more importantly the blown lead stats speak volumes.

Blake i saw the whole thing live* and viewed some tape afterwords.
Lamar, while def not spectacular was much more solid then the stats would show.
Dumbah most def cost him as did two crucial plays.
1. Butterfingers Duvernay on 3rd and long dropped the perfect pass.
2. Flowers dropped a beauty bomg also on 3rd and long. However he was 100 pass interfered with and should have drawn the flag for a big 40 yard gain.
Both would have put the Ravens in fg range or better -again.
3. On yet another 3rd and long (19), Action Jackson averted the broken down pass protection and bolted. All the way here there and everywhere and then ran towards the 1st down pylon. On his final step well inbounds he clearly reached the ball out a full yard ahead of the 1st down marker. Talker heads noted how Dumbah should absolutely challenge and it would be auto 1st down. Didnt.
4th and 8 inches now. Increadibly Mr. Go For It decided to attempt a fg. Equally incredible was Justin Tucker farted the 44 yarder.
Once again Action Jacksons efforts go for nil.

The Duvernay drop was good for about 20 and would have moved them well into Bolt territory.
The Flowers bomb which the Charger db simply knew has beat so did a blatant arm hold would have been good for 40 minimum. Jackson threw a perfect pass 50 yards off his back foot.
Let me know the next time Pattys receivers get blatantly held on a bomb and no call.
Also the above mentioned Dumbah going Wildcat for the miss on 4th and 8 inches was immediately after Jackson converted the 3rd and long run for a clear 1st down but refs burned the placement and Dumbah did not challenge.

Zay Flowers had a great start. Still good. But about 7 games in he started that dropped ball shit and it's continued.
Bateman blows. Has had many drops this year. But yes he can make good grabs. Inconsistent. Ya never know what you're gonna get.
OBJ has gotten better as the year has gone on. Plenty of drops up until about 3 weeks ago. Solid grabs too.
TE has filled in nicely. Ravens had 4 TEs in training camp and i thought 3 and 4 looked great. Not sure where they went, but Likely is working out fine for now.

Seemed 49ers D ran the same Hurts playbook and Jackson is better. He should be celebrated and overall is. Best in the NFL off a broken play.
The two best QBs we faced was Lamar & Burrow. Without getting deep into strategy & excuses - we were helpless vs Burrow. In comparison Lamar made highloght reels but those are just 1 flag away from punt. Broken plays draw flags. He also struggled in the red zone.

Also just this idea that it takes some big brained genius to successfully be an NFL QB is so fucking overrated, this entire sport is full of some of the biggest dumbasses to ever exist, and plenty of HOF QBs are complete retards. Ohhh if the coverage has deep leverage throw it short, if they have shallow leverage throw it deep, it's so complicated!
yeah SF is something of a machine, but Purdy is playing at a higher level than Jimmy ever did. significantly more successful pushing the ball down the field and its just his first year as a starter...

Jimmy blew out his knee. Purdy is an elite slider in the pocket. Rarely is sacked and can get better giving up on plays.

No need, guys here already made their heads that if Lamar doesn't win it all, he sucks.
It went from "gimmick QB that will be out of the league in 3 years" to "he won't win the SB". Goal posts have been moved something fierce, tbh. :lol

The Eagles losing and Dallas winning (assuming they win next week) I think Prescott is the favorite. Even after Jackson's 5/0 today, Prescott's 32 TD / 8 INT is still far superior to Jackson's 24 TD / 7 INT. Prescott also has about a thousand more passing yards. Jackson has a few hundred more rushing yards, but it's nothing like 2019, either from a running or passing standpoint. Baltimore has an amazing overall run game and a much better defense than Dallas.
Yes, 13-3 or 13-4 is better than 12-5, but Dallas has had literally no run game all year and the defense has taken a big step back as well due to the injuries suffered early in the season. Also, I think we can all agree that Mike McCarthy is a fat joke who can't manage the clock to save his life while the Harbaughs are among the best coaches in football.

What makes Jackson the MVP this year over Prescott, or Mccaffrey/Hill for that matter?
His stats for the whole year aren't even that impressive. Absolutely night and day compared to 2019 where he was absolutely the best regular season player in the NFL and the stats showed.
Sure he played for the best regular season team this year, but they also have a top 5 coach, top 5 defense and top 3 running game even if you take out the quarterback runs.
Dallas has the 27th ranked running offense and a defense that's barely above middle of the pack.
Prescott has 32 TDs, 8 INTs, and 4,237 passing yards.
Jackson has 24 TDs, 7 INTs, and 3,357 passing yards.
Both teams won their division and have a Top 2 seed in their respective conference.
Don't let recency bias, strength of schedule BS get in your head.
Dak Prescott is your 2023-24 MVP, unless you want to give it to McCaffrey which I wouldn't be against.

Taking away Lamar's rushing stats out of the equation. :lol Even the Ravens' rushing stats as a whole are a direct indicator of Lamar's impact on opossing defenses, because of the read option, even if he isn't the one running the ball.
There's literally 0 % chance Lamar doesn't win the MVP. We can bet on it if you want, if not just stay quiet, tbh.

Lamar is 100% the MVP and deserves every bit of the glory. He’s incredible. The Patriots are idiots to not offer him a contract when he was available in the summer. Believing you have a better shot with Mac Jones :lmao. Lamar is fantastic and he is incredibly fun to watch.
He’s also a lock to choke in the playoffs.

Huh? We just beat the Lions. It's not our fault we got the majority of tough opponents on the road this year and the Eagles got them at home. Like with global warming, it's the cycle, not caused by humans, not even Goodell as much as I hate him.
We were a perfect 8-0 at home and about to be 10-0 and make the Championship game and give the Niners a tough fight in SF, probably lose by one score in the championship game but who knows.
Dak's stats are the best out of any QB in the NFL. Any argument for Jackson is 100% recency bias. Strength of schedule is also extremely overrated, and Jackson's stats in his division games have been pretty dismal this year actually. You play the teams in front of you. It's a team game. Also, the QB plays the enemy defense, not the enemy QB. Let's not sit around and pretend Miami or the Niners have elite defenses, especially Miami on the road this year-- it's been dismal.
Hill fell a bit short late in the year, but absolutely I wouldn't have a problem with McCaffrey winning it. It shouldn't just be a QB award and, apart from Dak, no QB had a statistically great year, and even Dak's year was not jaw dropping like say Aaron Rodgers in 2011/2020, Peyton in 2013 or Drew Brees in 2011.

Miami at home and Miami away are two polar opposite teams.
As for the Niners, they're banged up AF and it's showed the past few weeks. The double bye (they'll tank the Rams game next week) will be extremely helpful to an ultra physical team like that. Getting them at full strength in week 5 on the road is a scheduled loss; getting them in week 16 when they're banged up and a loss to a non-conference opponent doesn't mean jack squat for tiebreakers is completely different.
What's Lamar Jackson's W-L record and quarterback stats within his own division, vs. Dak's? Every old-school analyst and coach will always tell you it all starts with winning in your division. Please care to share.

Retarded schtick that needs to die already. Campbell tried to pull the Belicheat 2014 Baltimore AFCDG play and got caught. If you're better than a team you beat them with your base offense, not a trick play for the win. Plus, there were 23 seconds left and Dallas has the best kicker in football with the longest leg, so 1-2 completions and a timeout; plus, those same refs gave Detroit a huge gift on the last Dallas drive with that terrible 15 yard tripping call that even gave Detroit that last possession in the first place.
So, you conspiretards who think the Detroit/Dallas game was somehow rigged in favor of Dallas can go back and fuck your mother some more.
Also, I thought you were a Buffalo fan... why'd you bandwagon to KC? KC stinks this year. :lol

Would have been an absolute rip off of Dallas too.
Of course they didn't cover #68. He was ineligible per incompetent ref.
Notice how fast old man ref runs (walks quickly) away from all 3 Detroit lineman. He was walking towards the Cowboys before 68 and 2nd lineman even reached him.
Not talking about #70 the third lineman. Old Man Ref had bounced long before he came running over.

49ers have their number, so really no chance but I do think this is their best chance in a long time to break the NFC Championship Game appearance drought considering they've been "stuntin on n1ggas" at home the past few seasons and there's no other team in the NFC that they shouldn't beat at home. If that happens, 'soulja boy up in this ho' will be blaring around the clock at every bar/restaurant in Addison, Uptown, Deep Ellum etc. It would be typical for the Cuckboys to lose to some random 9-8 team in the NFC Divisional round though :lol

Correct. Getting to the NFC champ game and losing to the 9ers would be a normal 12 win team. This is a Cowboys 12 win team. More likely to lose to Baker Mayfield or some shit.
If they win on Sunday it will be 12 wins for 3 years in a row. Pretty much every team that has done that has had a deep playoff run during one of those seasons. Failing to reach the conference title game would be pretty massive disappointment.

When you think of how bad their division has been for a little over a decade now, it's almost an unfathomable level of consistent mediocrity to not be able to string together one or two playoff wins in a row to make the NFCCG during that whole time
