It was gold when it was published; it's gold now. Easily the most cited book on economics.
Just want to correct this, it's actually the 2nd most cited book on economics. The most cited is.....wait for it:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Wealth_of_Nations
With 36,331 citations, it is the second most cited book in the social sciences published before 1950, behind Karl Marx (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Karl_Marx)'s Das Kapital (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Das_Kapital).[62] (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Wealth_of_Nations#cite_note-62)
:lol if we're using which economic theory is most cited in order to determine what's correct, looks like Marx edges out Adam Smith.

Well done.
But I'd note that if the citations were broken down based on whether they are economic or non-economic (such as political), then Adam Smith would presumably be the highest still would be my best guess.

Yes, it's based on Adam Smith's writings being based more on a purely economical vent. Much of Karl Marx's work deals with politics and not directly regarding economics.

It couldn't possibly be that Das Kapital is cited more than Wealth of Nations due to the fact that Das Kapital accounts for how much the industrial revolution (something Wealth of Nations barely accounts for at all as it was written as the very beginning of the industrial revolution) made it so certain things such as the means of production, surplus value and wage labor impact the economy, could it?

For a book that's translated from another language, it's unbelievable how well it simplifies concepts that at the time were relatively new. Every other time I've tried to pick up a book on economic theory that was originally written in non-english, it's torture trying to read through dry translated material, I actually enjoyed reading Das Kapital.

Something similar is true for Marx, there wasn't a substantial body of dedicated professionals to receive his economic writings at the time. Also, Marx was a journalist by trade and propagandist by temperament, he knew the value of brevity, as in his famous money=shit equation.

Rahm is a fucking millionaire investment banker, aka, oligarchy.
Investment bankers don't support any govt action For The People, like MfA or environmental laws. They only support rigging govt and the economy for their own wealth protection and enrichment. Mission Accomplished.
Obama ran on public option. Rahm was key in blocking it.
Now he says no MfA, no environmental progress, no solutions. What he says no to now are all supported by a majority of The People.

i guess they just needed to get even more republican speakers to win people over.
also what happened to all those 2016 conservatives who said they hated trump, but said they still have to vote for him because dems but such a bad candidate up, but that they probably would have voted for biden? :lol

I know these polls are anonymous but it would still be nice to see what % of people who "identified as Republican" 4 years ago now identify as Independent.

Is this the same poll that says Biden has a 50 point advantage over Trump with younger voters? I read that a few days ago and didn’t quite believe it.
I’ll see if I can find it.

To be fair some voter registrations have changed, and that poll seems flawed if it says Trump is winning independents by 10%. Every other poll I’ve seen his Biden winning independents.
Still though, Trump is winning 85% of Republican voters in a best case scenario for Biden, and it’s likely closer to 90%. It’s a nonsensical campaign strategy of bending over backwards to win 10% of the other party’s vote instead of just 5% rather than trying to energize the base.

I think we’ve always had a lot of h:lolnest br:lolkers who know Republicans are greedy assholes so they identify as independents even though they’re Republicans for all intents and purposes, even before Trump. North Carolina for example has over 400k more registered Dems than it does registered Republicans, and it’s somehow a right leaning state.

Yeah I saw that as well with the independents.
Would help to see the methodology on this one.

She was alright tbh, the part where SherGOD Brown was talking to small business owners was predictably my favorite part :lol
Why'd you stop posting after Biden won the primary :lol, now that we're cheering for the same outcome it's time to trigger dem edgelords.

Oh lol. I am trying not to obsess over it and there is really nothing to do but wait now. Its pretty fucking nerve wracking honestly. I work out of home too (from well before covid) so the obsessing over politics was bleeding into my mind while working and hurting my performance a little

Well Biden has a trip scheduled to Wisconsin so he's already doing better than Hillary. I was worried he'd try to stay frozen in the basement between now and election day.
IMO if enough voters show up, he wins.
