Link to these numbers on sizes?
The last I read, the virus actually travels as the most infective in WATER DROPLETS that are much larger than what you posted so they are not classified as aerosols. The virus has to be in water droplets large enough to carry a large load of viral particles to infect efficiently like the cases we are seeing now where even vaccinated people are getting a very large viral load all at once.
What is the average pore size for an N95 mask in microns?
There is some confusion here because some research has a definition of the size of water in the air and whether it is called a droplet or aerosol.

Absolutely.
Same with the school boards.
I think the school boards of large districts get the always present old folks who come to yell at clouds. But when very large groups of parents who actually have kids IN school show up at a district meeting... it has an effect.

derp was putting up the size of ONE virus and comparing it to the avg pore size in an N95.
they are all experts. I just want to see Darrin's article because I have read stuff that has a different definitions of aerosols and droplet size. The current model suggests, as with almost all easy to catch viruses, that you need a very large load of viral particles and they must be present in water. So these studies will obviously continue but the disingenuous nature of the red team is evident in trying any and all fanciful factoids to fit their political will.
You see everyone on the blue team loves masks, loves wearing them and not going out to eat at a nice restaurant or travel freely. We like getting vaccines and experimenting with our bodies. The blue team wants to use masks and vaccines as a lead into socialism and then communism, where everyone is a robot for the beehive. This is exactly what Biden wants for all of us. He is a commie. - koriwhat?

Yeah these kind of things are very basic but need to be done.
Huge problem: How many viral particles are carried in the droplets because its pretty clear it takes a large viral load and this might actually be a big advantage for the delta variant. Overall our experience so far with the virus from the very start indicates that masks do work. But the basics need to be tested.
That being said I had two friends catch Covid in the beginning of this stuff by wearing only surgical masks. But sitting up front in a car while a salesman in back had unmasked himself (unknown to them until the time was finished), they spent about 15 minutes in this very closed situation and the salesman eventually the salesman eventually went to the hospital. So breathing the same air in an enclosed area with people shedding virus became a huge concern of mine due to this anecdote.
They were being ultra careful, almost OCD careful and then this happened. They messed up. Some people only care about their zip code, they should have known this.

Probably 100Ks of them decided that the pandemic break convinced them that rideshare'a continuously ( decreasing pay - costs ) ain't worth it.
Uber/Lyft are desperate for drivers, offer huge incentives, so drivers drive, pocket the incentives, then stop driving.

Same Repug strategy. The GWOT was to be eternal giving the President emergency war powers, a backdoor to the imperial Unitary Executive.
If the Repugs take the House and Senate in 2022, the next knife in America's gut will be implementing "non delegation",
as well and BenGhazi-ing Biden, multiple committees in cascade, for 2 years over exit from Afghanistan.

Federal judge extends order blocking Gov. Greg Abbott’s directive for law enforcement to pull over vehicles transporting migrants
A federal judge in El Paso on Friday extended her order blocking Gov. Greg Abbott’s directive to state troopers to pull over drivers transporting migrants “who pose a risk of carrying COVID-19.”
U.S. District Judge Kathleen Cardone lengthened her restraining order by another two weeks after a hearing Friday, according to a court filing. Her original order on Aug. 3 was set to expire Friday.
In July, Abbott ordered state troopers to pull over civilian drivers giving rides to recent immigrants who may be infected with the virus and redirect the drivers to their origin point. If the driver didn’t comply, the troopers should seize their vehicles, the order said.

healthcare rationing coming soon?
the traditional way to do this is by ability to pay, political incompetence leading to mass death and health care rationing is something of a 21st century innovation and a distinctly American one.
Despite Harris Health getting 100 out-of-state nurses to help with staff shortages, COVID-19 tents outside of LBJ hospitals remain empty because there are not enough doctors to care for patients.
“As the situation gets worse, one of the things we’re going to be forced to do is to actually shut down some of the clinics, pull those providers inside hospitals to provide the services inside the tents,” Porsa said.
He said resources are not unlimited. Porsa said they’re approaching a critical situation where doctors and nurses may potentially have to ration care because there are just too many patients.
“Some of them, we as clinicians know, that they have very little chance of making it. There’s going to be some very tough decisions that have to be made about who’s going to receive the care,” he said.
He said the sad reality is some people are going to die in emergency rooms waiting for care.

Fwiw, it's not yet legal to vaccinate anyone younger than 12 yo. While it's true that the ifr is still low for youngsters, the infectiousness of Delta plus popular disdain for mitigation means large numbers of children will die out of season. That won't have been an ideological mistake on the part of the kids who will die. Nor will it have been a mistake for other people who die from breakthough infections.

In 2001, 17 people in Texas died from meningitis, out of 203 diagnosed, the worst year for meningitis on record.

Even as Abbott and Attorney General Ken Paxton (https://www.texastribune.org/directory/ken-paxton/) vow to punish local government and school district officials who flout the governor’s executive order, they conceded in court documents that they actually have no power to enforce the ban.
“Neither Governor Abbott nor Attorney General Paxton will be enforcing” the order, Paxton argued in a Monday court filing in Dallas.

666 new Texas laws go into effect Sept. 1. Here are some that might affect you.
https://www.texastribune.org/2021/08/31/new-texas-laws-september-2021/
Permitless carry: House Bill 1927 allows Texans ages 21 and older to carry handguns without training or a license as long as they are not legally prevented from doing so.
Abortion restrictions: SB 8 prohibits abortions as early as six weeks into pregnancy. In lieu of government enforcement, private individuals can sue abortion providers or people who assist abortion after an ultrasound can detect what lawmakers defined as a fetal heartbeat. Embryos at this developmental stage don’t possess a heart. Medical and legal experts say the sound Republican lawmakers are referring to is the motion of electrical pulses stimulating muscle cells in a tube that will eventually become part of the heart. Abortion providers are suing to block the law. Additionally, HB 1280 would outlaw abortion in Texas 30 days after any potential U.S. Supreme Court decision overturns Roe v. Wade.
Medical marijuana expansion: People with any form of cancer or post-traumatic stress disorder now have access to low-THC cannabis for medical purposes. HB 1535 is an expansion of the Texas Compassionate Use Program, which allows people with conditions such as epilepsy and autism to access medical marijuana.
Reducing barriers to SNAP: SB 224 simplifies access to the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program for seniors and disabled people on fixed incomes. Eligible individuals can forgo enrollment interviews and have a shortened application process.
Funding the “1836 Project”: HB 2497 establishes an “1836 Project” committee to produce patriotic Texas history materials, which will be distributed through channels such as when people receive driver’s licenses. The initiative’s name mirrors the “1619 Project,” a New York Times publication examining U.S. history from the arrival of enslaved people.
Social studies curriculum changes: HB 3979 limits teachers from discussing current events and systemic racism in class. The bill also prevents students from receiving class credit for participating in civic engagement and bans teaching of the “1619 Project.”
“Star Spangled Banner Protection Act”: Professional sports teams with state funding are required to play the national anthem before games under SB 4.
Reducing pre-K class sizes: Prekindergarten classes are now capped at 22 students — the same maximum class size of other elementary school grades — under SB 2081.
New state employee retirement accounts: SB 321 enrolls new state workers hired after Sept. 1, 2022, in a cash-balance plan, which deposits a percentage of a worker’s annual compensation in retirement accounts and is similar to a 401(k) retirement account. Currently, employees have defined-benefit retirement accounts based on employment position and previous salaries.
Shielding companies from car crash liability: HB 19 requires drivers of commercial vehicles — including Ubers, Lyfts and delivery trucks — to be found liable in court for causing a car crash resulting in injury or death before a case can be brought against their employer.
Active shooter alert system: HB 103 creates the Texas Active Shooter Alert System, which will notify Texans in the vicinity of an active shooting scene through their phones. The system can be activated by request of local law enforcement.
Police body cameras: HB 929 requires police officers to keep body cameras on during the entirety of active investigations. The law is named after Botham Jean, who was fatally shot in his apartment while eating ice cream by a Dallas police officer in 2018.
Banning unnecessary police chokeholds: Police officers are now prohibited from using chokeholds or excessive force during arrests unless necessary to prevent officer or bystander injury under SB 69. Officers who witness violations are required to report the incident.
Online ballot tracking system: HB 1382 creates an online tracking system for mail-in ballots and applications for mail-in ballots. The system will be run by the Texas Secretary of State.
Punishing cities who cut police budgets: If municipalities with a population of more than 250,000 reduce their police budget, HB 1900 allows the state to financially punish the cities by reducing sales tax revenues and preventing increases in property taxes.
Felony punishment for blocking emergency vehicles: HB 9 will make blocking access to a hospital or an emergency vehicle with its lights and sirens on a state jail felony. The bill was passed as a response to protesters being arrested for blocking ambulances during Black Lives Matter protests last summer.
Criminalizing homeless camping: HB 1925 makes camping in unapproved public places a misdemeanor crime that carries a fine of up to $500. Cities cannot opt out of the ban.

By playing D for SARS-CoV-2 they can wreck public schools. COVID-19 isn't a public emergency for tese guys so much as an opportunity to grab power and settle scores. The way Abbott has used pandemic policy to undermine Texas cities underscores that.

In Covid-swamped SHITHOLE Texas, patients die stranded in rural clinics
Daniel Wilkinson survived two tours of duty in Afghanistan but died of gallstones, deteriorating slowly as his under-equipped doctors looked on helplessly.
In this wealthy state, 14,700 people were hospitalized as of September 1, just below a record set in January as a winter Covid wave wreaked havoc across America.
"In the previous surges, we kept a little over 750 patients. Right now we've been running between 820 and 850 patients, so the hospitals are quite full,"
a conference room at one of the facilities is being used to treat patients.
rural health facilities are being forced to keep patients they are not equipped to care for
"We get a few calls every day from rural hospital leaders that are just frantically trying to find a place to send these patients,"
"I would say every day this week we've had a situation that didn't end well and resulted in a patient's death,"
Hospital staff feel powerless and overwhelmed by the frantic search for hospital beds somewhere bigger and more equipped.
"We have a critical, ICU-level Covid-positive patient at our rural facility that we have been taking care of for 11 days because we cannot find him a higher level of care,"

Texas requests five mortuary trailers from FEMA, bracing for more covid-19 deaths
August 17, 2021 at 3:10 p.m. EDT
Texas health officials have requested five mortuary trailers from the federal government in anticipation of a possible spike in deaths brought about by surging coronavirus numbers in the state.
The Texas Department of State Health Services made a request Aug. 4 through the Texas Division of Emergency Management to the Federal Emergency Management Agency for five mortuary trailers, agency spokesman Douglas Loveday confirmed to The Washington Post, adding the request was made as a precaution. NBC News previously reported the state’s request for mortuary trailers.
The trailers will be kept in San Antonio in case any nearby areas need the additional resource, though Loveday said no specific requests have been made. Still, officials are anticipating a potential need for these trailers in the state. Loveday said FEMA had also provided trailers for earlier increases in covid-19-related deaths.
Mobile and refrigerated mortuary trucks were seen as a grim symbol during earlier waves of the pandemic. Trailers were delivered to cities to keep pace with mounting deaths, and in some places they reportedly remained in place as makeshift morgues months into the pandemic.

They are controlled by Repugs legislatively and judicially state-wide from top to bottom.
Then add a new around of gerrymandering, voter suppression, election fraud (if Dems win, they cheated, nullify the election)
