I'm actually laughing because I looked it up on Google maps ... and they say it's only like 7 miles. But the route they give you (the back way through the Quarry, Basse, etc.) it would take at least an hour and a half to get there. That was the stupidest route I think I've ever seen to get anywhere. :wow :lol

I think the sbc is a little closer...because I live close to the 35/410 interchange so it's a pretty quick trip and the traffic *usually* isn't bad. The only way I know how to get to Fresno and I10 is by 410...which sucks ass over here until about 7 or 8. But it's okay...I can always take Google's back way :lol

SW, I would go the route DT said. Take 281 (depending where exactly in Alamo Heights you live in) to 35 to I-10, get off on Fresno. Or if you live close to the Quarry, going down Basse to San Pedro or Blanco then to Fresno is real quick.

Some of the fields on Basse and McCullogh are the cities, the other is a little league field and the other some High School. I believe you can rent them for 15 an hr, also the field in Brackenridge park.

That's awesome. Kris is a switch hitter! And he hits that ball super hard. Mandy's batting stance is classic. And Manny, he can't hit for shit. Oh, I kid.

Last night I was about to go to bed at approximately 7 a.m. However, instead of going to bed, I decided I would go ahead and stay up the whole day and get some cleaning and other tasks taken care of, then go to softball and basketball practice and go to sleep early. Ideally I would have been back on schedule instead of my late sleeping nights because I have to get up at 5:40 a.m. to go to my temporary job. Well, unfortunately, shortly after the heads up, No limit Hold 'Em championship on NBC, I drifted asleep watching TV. I woke up at 6:50. There was really nothing I could do after that, but go to my basketball practice late. Again, I apologize. I would have really liked to have played.

I wouldn't put a girl pitching. Unless that girl is tuff and has super fast reflexes, because those balls come at the pitcher the fastest and seen some people get nailed. Short stop is another postion you need a guy, most of the grounders go there. You can live with a girl playing right outfield, not many balls get hit out there.

I was surprised that my years of baseball came back pretty quickly. I was a pitcher/shortshop growing up but I can play outfield no problem. I've never seen how these slow pitch softball games are played, but I imagine a lot of hits to the outfield. Center or short probably makes sense for me.

Overall, team looked pretty good. Next practice we should get a better idea of positions.

You should definitely play short, you will not shy away from the ball, like most people do. :lol

If Chris can catch really well, then he should be perfect for first. His length and height is ideal for first.


Since I never played baseball growing up, i still misjudge the flyball every know and then. I have a habit of running forward as soon as the ball is hit. My arm isn't the greatest either.
