Yes, I am a Sun's fan. If I remeber correctly the Spurs did not go to the line much last year either. Nash was being bumped like a pin ball tonight and there were questionable offensive fouls on some of our guy's tonight. Mr. Floppy was out of bounds when he threw in the ball at one time and Duncan was on the out of bounds line one time and the refs did not call him out of bounds. Stuff like that adds up eventually. Yes we made stupid mistake at the end but it was a freethrow parade by the Spurs for the same type of fouls that the Spurs comitted on the Suns. We had quite a few points in the paint so that does not mean we just shot outside tonight. Admit it, you would not have been in the game except for the freethrows. Your team shot horribly tonight.
"Mr. Floppy" was not out of bounds. it was weird, but he somehow pushed back w/ his legs as he was falling backwards and passed it b4 falling out. I would suggest you get a DVR if you don't have one. And PHX drove thru the lane they don't play w/ their back to the baskets like TD. Tony drives the lane like your whole team, but hardly ever gets to the line check his stats. And he was flattened a few times tonight when he drove the lane as well w/ no call! Face, when it comes to SA, PHX is :owned :owned :owned :owned :owned :owned 9-2 since the last few years I believe. Just hope you avoid us this spring if you don't win your division.

To those just responding to my flopping questions, thanks and I'll try and answer tomarrow. I've got parent/teacher conferences tomarrow and must be getting up around 4 a.m. to finish some reviews, so I can't shoot the breeze any longer.
Do appreciate the reponses. Love talkin' hoops.
Also, forgive my double letters or funky type as I'm getting used to a new keyboard. Few things in life are as frustrating as retraining your fingers on how hard to push and how far to be spaced... damn it's annnoying!

Not sure what to say about this game. Just complete and utter bullshit. I don't know which play I liked more: Ginobili lying out of bounds tapping the ball in, or the 24 second shot clock violation that fouled Stoudemire out, or Nash's "charge" on Bown once the game was over. In my life I have never seen such a horrible charge call. Just horrible. 3 of Stoudemire's fouls were simply assinine. So many bad calls to choose from. It's a shame. Suns earned this game. They were the better team tonight. And anybody on this board who thinks the officials didn't give this game away to San Antonio is just kidding themselves. I'm not saying SA isn't good, I'm just saying the officials gave this to them. Man up and admit it. :dramaquee

I don't recall seeing Nash get bumped like a pinball. He made very nice drives and finished with both hands several times at the basket. He has a really nice game that really developed after he left Dallas and joined the Suns.

Smeagol,
Cry me a fucking river yourself. Thats what you guys did last year when you lost to the Mavs for the same type of stuff. I would not exactly call the Spur that tough defensively this year. We still shot a high percentage and your team shot poorly. Free throws won you the game plain and simple!
Free throws have won plenty of NBA games for various teams. It's part of the game. If you look at the Duncan era Spurs track record you would see we don't have foul trouble too often b/c we defnd well.

RC's Boss, try not to be a complete jackass. Ginobili was out. Completely, and utterly out of bounds like nothing I have ever seen. Just admit the play was bullshit. You're not betraying your team by doing it. And yes I do have DVR. I watched it about 6 times laughing my ass off. It was simply putrid to not call that. Don't be a chump buddy. Admit the facts or get off the board.

I guess I'll be gay for the remainder of the evening and not "man up". Tony hit the floor a few times w/ no call. You can't get to the line if you have no post player or a Dirk on your team. Amare played well, but he's still not healthy so why would we expect them to have even ft shooting attempts between the 2 teams.
bball13
11-09-2006, 01:17 AM
Amare wasn't allowed to play. The 24 second shot clock violation fouled him out. I want you to tell me that the three plays I mentioned weren't complete bullshit. Do you have the balls to actually speak the truth and be a fan at the same time? I don't think so.

I received phone calls from 3 friends that couldn't believe he was able to make that play and they saw he was inbounds so if that makes me one so be it... :donkey

Not sure what to say about this game. Just complete and utter bullshit. I don't know which play I liked more: Ginobili lying out of bounds tapping the ball in (he was inbounds - the only part of him touching the ground were his feet - which were inbounds), or the 24 second shot clock violation that fouled Stoudemire out (was a 24 sec. violation - refs missed that one), or Nash's "charge" on Bown once the game was over (the game was over - whether it was a charge or not had no effect on the game). In my life I have never seen such a horrible charge call. Just horrible. 3 of Stoudemire's fouls were simply assinine. So many bad calls to choose from. It's a shame. Suns earned this game. At least 3 times Parker was blatantly fouled going to the basket. There were missed calls on both sides. The fact is - if a team is up 9 pts. with 5 mintues left in the 4th and loses - it wasn't the refs that beat them. They fucked up and couldn't get it done while the team that beat them rose up and won the game.

i love talking to people like you. i love it. you simply dont have it in you to admit the facts about those three calls. you cant do it. you are physically not capable of doing it. i love it! after a game like this, it actually makes me feel better to realize how much of an idiot some of the spurs fans are, and how little they know about basketball compared to me. im not saying the spurs suck. im not saying the suns are better. im simply saying those three calls were horrible and game changing. and you cant put aside your feelings for your team and admit it. thank you for that. by showing us all how biased you are, you forfeit your credibility.

beerisgood: we were up by 9. the 24 second thing cut it to 6. the 24 second thing took stoudemire (the high scorer at the time) out. at least you can partially admit this. to the others: don't tell me those plays didn't affect a game THAT WENT TO OVERTIME

That's pretty classless. Manu flops and hurts a guy who's just standing there.
There is a thing called karmic retribution. One of these days, Manu's going to flop, and blow out one of his own knees (for a change). And he'll deserve it.
Anyway, regarding this game - sure, there were a couple of bs calls that changed the game. But the Suns lost this game - mainly because they couldn't hold onto a big lead. Who cares about a foul here and a bad call there. If you're up by 9 in the late 4th, you'd better win. The Suns' mistake at the end was leaving TP open for two open 3's; they should have maintained single coverage on Duncan.
In the bigger picture, though, this will just fire up the Suns. It is very possible for them to put together a 10-game winning streak, and everything will be fine again. Judging from what I saw today, I don't think that SA is capable of beating the Suns - if they can keep everyone healthy, and gel as a team.
Good luck - if the Suns are out, I'd much rather have Finley win a title than the classless Mavs fans. Even though some of your guys are posting some classless comments, I'll take the average Spurs fan over the average Mavs fan anyday.

Un-FUCKING-believable.
Did you not have your eyes on when Raja smacked Manu in the face, and Leandrinho knocked him off balance while in the air, before that? That play could have easily injured Manu, and both fouls were intentional, unlike the accidental bump that unlikely ended up with Raja tasting his own well deserved medicine.
If you're asking for karmic retribution, it was already taken care of.

Some of you Spurs fans are very classless. Raja has rib cartlidge damage and Nash has a hip strain thanks to Manu. I just wish the guy would play to his abilities(which he has many) instead of all the flopping and dramatics. Not cool to injure other players. Also Bowen does things that are not cool either to other players and it is not called good defense as some of you have said. I do not approve of what Raja did to Kobe, all these types of plays are uncalled for. Just play the game instead of flopping and injuring other players.
On another note, Duncan gets away with much more whining than any other player lately. Quite a few times he should have had a technical called against him last night. If they are going to call technicals for putting your hands up in the air they should give him technicals for throwing the ball and jumping in the air after a foul is called and for constantly talking to the refs after calls. I have to agree Manu, Bowen and Parker have toned it down a lot from last year but not Duncan.
Also to whoever said we just took jumpshots, we outscored you in the paint last night. So I still think it was freethrows that won the game and Raja not making his freethrow in the last seconds of overtime. The Spurs are not as great a defensive team as they have been in the past as evidenced by last night's shooting percentage by the Suns and by the points in the paint by the Suns. Just count yourself lucky that your team won last night because when the Suns gel you may have your hands full.

Suns played great for 46 minutes, just like they always do against the Spurs.
Suns could not get a single goddamn stop in the last 2 minutes, just like they always don't against the Spurs.
Typical Suns loss to the Spurs. Luckily, the Suns don't seem to have that same problem against the Mavs, so tonight should result in a W.

I just don't like it when Ginobili picks up cheap fouls by flopping or gets cheap fouls by throwing his elbow into Raja Bell in OT. He's crafty enough without the antics... I've always thought of him as a clean (albiet, dramatic) player, but that elbow to the gut push was a little below him and something I'd expect to see from Jason Terry or Josh Howard, or.... well, the whole Dallas squad. Bowen isn't dirty, either, he's just a pest and so I continue to disagree with the many Suns/Mavs fans that call him dirty. He just gets away with a lot of grabbing and being "handsy" but no one can doubt his hustle, intensity, and dedication to being a defensive stopper.

Which play are you talking about, the one where Manu and Bell bumped shoulders and Bell fell to the ground? Im not defending anything but I recorded the game and all it looked to me was that they bumped shoulders (albeit pretty hard and deep into the body) but I didnt see Bell get hit in anyway in the Gut.
Im asking honestly...
maybe I'll have to go back and take a closer look if thats the play you are refering to.
