Just went outside, its all rain but its freezing pretty bad. I'm kinda worried because there are some huge trees all around us with a bunch of leaves, and the amount of ice on them is getting very high.

well at least its nice to know i get some ice.

my car is frozen solid i guess. Too bad I dont have my good camera with me tonight, hopefully there will be some left when i wake in the morning, so i can snap a photo or two.

The mountain laurel in the backyard is leaning bad. The banana trees are growing new ice branches.

It was fun trying to slide through the yard.

Damn, I almost blew up just now. I was looking outside seeing if it was sleeting or raining and I see this black guy walking around and he goes to my truck and bends down and was shining a light on my tire. If he would of slashed that shit, he would of fucked up big time. I went outside to check to see if my tire was alright and it was.

No, it is strange for some strange person to be looking at a tire with some light. What in the hell is the point in that? Plus there have been lots of black people stealing stuff and keying cars around my apartment. So there was very good suspicion.

I guess there is at least some consolation that all we have are 2 little saplings in the front yard still tied to stakes. Although those little things look pretty stressed, too.

Shelly, I honestly have no idea. I havne't looked at the models. I doubt the air will breakout like this again, though. We may have shot sleet or snow at some point the rest of this winter but I am almost positive we'll get no accumulations like we did this time.

The tree's look horrible outside. There is one huge part of the trunk that is sagging big time, in fact I think it may have already cracked on the inside but it just hasn't completel fallen yet. Ice/branches have been hitting our roof all day. There are still plenty of icicles, and I think a lot of this may refreeze tonight and if it rains/drizzles at all tonight it'll add to it which sucks.

Make up days are weak. Fucking districts and their money.

While you can choose to fault the districts for the make-up days they select, it's not their fault they have to have them. The state mandates that "X" days of instruction be delivered come hell, high water, snow, or ice. So if school is called off for any reason, the districts are forced to make the day up.

SrA Husker
01-18-2007, 02:34 PM
Back home in Nebraska, the school districts always have a 5-day padding on the school schedules to account for snow days, so only in the worst winters would their have to be any makeup days.

MannyIsGod

THE WEAKER SHORT-WAVE CUTS OFF OVER NORTHWESTERN MEXICO. ANOTHER

THIS IS A COLDER AIRMASS. POPS INCREASE BY MONDAY AND CONTINUE

RAIN, SNOW, OR A MIX OF THE TWO MONDAY NIGHT INTO TUESDAY BEFORE
POPS END BY TUESDAY AFTERNOON. FAIR AND COLD WITH NORTHWESTERLY
FLOW ALOFT WEDNESDAY INTO THURSDAY. SOME UNCERTAINTY CONTINUES
NEXT WEEK, AS SOME EARLIER MODEL RUNS SHOWED THE STRONGER OF THE
TWO SHORT-WAVES WOULD BE THE ONE CUTTING OFF OVER NORTHWESTERN
MEXICO AND ONLY MOVING SLOWLY EAST TOWARD TEXAS THE MIDDLE OF NEXT
WEEK RESULTING IN SOME ACCUMULATING SNOWS ACROSS PARTS OF THE
AREA. DUE TO LACK OF CONSISTENCY, FORECASTS MAY SEE MANY CHANGES
THE NEXT FEW DAYS.

Oh yeah, and if you want it to snow you might as well start up a collection for a hotel room in Corpus for LJ "Snow Malone" Ellis

A Mild Day Is Expected Sunday As The Upper Low Pulls Away And Is
Quickly Replaced By Another Storm System Digging To The West. This
Upper Low Could Bring Another Round Of Winter Precip With Model
Soundings Suggesting A Good Profile For Rain Changing Directly To
Snow After Midnight Monday. The Storm Has A Positive Tilt
Character Which Should Result In Mainly Insignificant Amounts.
However, There Is Enough Energy Such That A Small Stripe Of
Measurable Amounts Could Sweep Across Our Counties Tuesday.
Breezy Cold And Dry Weather Should Linger Into Thursday With The
El Nino Style Zonal Pattern Resuming Friday. However, Moisture
Return Should Be Too Slow To Occur For Rain To Be Considered In
The Forecast.
