I know that having a game thread in the Pistons section is a lost cause, so I won't even attempt it. I'll just start one over here.

Lets get this thing started. The Pistons are coming into this 2005 NBA Finals rematch on a 7 game winning streak. The addition of C-Webb has really turned things around for them.

May the best team (Detroit) win!

The Pistons beat the Spurs azz twice last year ... and that was back when the Spurs used to be good. On the second night of a back-to-back, against a team playing in the honeymoon mode of having a new starter ... it doesn't look good.

I'd be stunned if the Spurs won.

That sounds realistic.

I haven't really gotten a chance to see much of Detroit with C-Webb, so it'll be interesting.

Too bad C-Webb is past his prime. A combination of a young C-Webb and Rasheed would have been something that no team in the NBA, no matter how inept, could have screwed up.

Horry better be rested, because I think Webber is going to eat Elson alive!

I also look for Rip to get alot of easy baskets cutting to the hole w/ a Webber dish.

Chauncey will have 11 assists and only 1 TO.

Sheed will be Sheed, and get his 15th Tech.

Tim and Manu are going to combine for 53 points, and Tony is going to dish 9 assists and score 19 points.

And Melvin Ely is going to score 54 points, grab 23 rebounds, block 14 shots, and dish 19 assists while getting 11 steals. First quintuple double of all time tomorrow.

all in 10 minutes, while subbing for Duncan...

Then Spurs will trade Duncan at half time, seeing how well Ely (at a bargain price) can single handedly lift this franchise to greater heights as we've never seen before. Then trade Tony before the end of Q3.

I think Webber is gonna have game high 30 points and Sheed will hit 3's like shooting free throws. Bowen will be frustrated watching Rip get lay up after lay up with Webber's passing skill. C-Webb and Flip: two clutch performers together at last!!!!

Testing
02-14-2007, 01:10 PM
Spurs have almost no chance. Pistons share the ball, Spurs don't. Pistons have 4 potential rebounders, Spurs have 1. Please Sheed usually defends Duncan pretty well, Same with Billups and Parker. If Finley has a good game, that will cancel out McDyess/Webber.

X Factors: Elson (his defense and rebounding), Barry 3 point shooting, or Horry actually doing something useful.

I'm skeptical, but willing to be convinced.

Like I was skeptical about Dumars' ability to get anything of value back for Grant Hill. Like I was about Rip's ability to replace Stackhouse. Like I was about Sheed's ability to be anything but a bad influence and a distraction. Like I was about a beanpole like Tayshaun trying to hold his position on the court. Like I am about Webber in general. Skeptical.

But willing to be convinced.

Honestly, I don't like Flip. I don't mind to have Larry back.

But the reason they lost last year was not only because of Flip. The reason was WADE. I hate myself to say that. But he was the one to beat the pistons and he was the one to beat Dallas. Remember when we still had Larry in 2005(the year we played SA in final). We went to game 7 and both Wade and Shaq were injuried.

I really don't think if we lose again, it's because of Flip. But of course I am well aware that Flip is not the coach for a championship team.

I want to beat the heat this year so badly. I wish we can play SA in the final. :married:

Hmm. I didn't think the game would be played. There were no flights out of this area, and certainly not to Detroit, because of the weather. with spurs games (austin here) you sometimes have to check the fox locals...if it's supposed to blacked out it will still be on one of those channels...i have league pass and sometimes it won't be on the assigned channel but i always find it on the fox channels...anyway, it's on nbatv now at least on directv
