Shocker that Anthony Michael Hall tries to call me out again... I'd be ok with everything except for bullshit 3rd foul on Amare
Yeah, I'd be okay with the two obvious fouls on Elson that weren't called if I were a Suns fan, too.

No, because he called me a "homer" for saying Barbosa was superior and he tried to produce stats to back up his terrible opinion. If he just said he was being a homer, then I would have been ok with it. In fact, he claimed every team/coach in the NBA would want to have Manu over Barbosa. Don't protect him just because he's Mr. Kori - he can be just as whiny and incorrect as anyone.

Okay, here are my observations in looking at the stat box:
1. Tony is having his way, which is important;
2. Duncan has no fouls, which is incredible;
3. Amare getting awfully close to serious foul trouble;
4. Because of the above three points, the Spurs really don't want to lose this game. They must find a way to get the job done in the second half.
True dat...the foul situation right now really favors the Spurs in the second half...if we can get Stoudy to pick up at least one more, Duncan and the Spurs will cruise...

That's a ridiculously ignorant take. I know Leandrinho from down here in the Brazilian pros before he went to the NBA. I've followed his career in Phoenix, and I will tell you that not only are he and Manu different types of players, but Manu is in a superior class. Like I said, I like Leandrinho as a person, his story, his game, and Phoenix's system suits him as he arguably has less pressure playing behind Nash. But he doesn't come close to being the all around player and winner Manu is.

That depends.
If real Manu turns up, the guy who carried us for 12 games during the season, the guy who attacks the rim, the guy who makes his jumpers and steals the ball in the lanes, everyone would take Manu.
If it's inconsistent Manu, then Barbosa might get the nod.
WTF did Horry just say? I could hardly hear it.

You really are being a homer to think everyone would want a guy in his 30s over a 24-year-old 6th man of the year.
What does upside have to do with it? Considering the teams and their systems, Manu having similar numbers is more impressive than you seem to think. I think Baboso is a good player, and was a legitimate 6th man. But Manu's a better player right now.

You guys remember Alex Garcia? He's blowing up in Brazil again and just beat my local team. He plays for undefeated Brasilia...after the game he and I had way too many beers. His agent is fielding calls from four NBA teams, but he wasn't sure if the Spurs were one of them at this point. Anyway, he loved San Antonio and he would instantly take Beno's or Jaque's backup job. Like right now. The dude is a quick athlete like Leandrinho, but MUCH stronger, is a left and can actually defend decently.

Barbosa is a decent scorer but about half of his points come from cherry picking and wide open shots so it's really hard to tell how good a scorer he is. Manu is a PROVEN world, olympic and NBA champion. What a loser, what an absolutely irritating moron who would make a comment that Barbosa would be taken by NBA team's over Manu. A take from the simpleton fan of a championshipless franchise whose team's pride just got shit on, squashed and buried into irrelevancy. Must be painful that your "superstar" is now more comparable to Dwayne Schintzius than Larry Bird.

Phoenix played aggressive and made a ton of contested shots in the 1st half. Spurs in contrast were not aggressive and very stagnant on offense. The good thing is that the Spurs were able to play odd lineups and stay right in the game. I look for a huge increase in 2nd half aggressiveness on both ends of the court, and more contested shots from Phoenix start to hit the front of the rim and bounce out. Spurs are right where they need to be on the road, time to step it up a level for 24 minutes and take game 1.

I've watched Barbosa plenty and of course you can't refute anything I've said because you know it's true. He does cherry pick a lot and no defense gears up to stop him because he's surrounded by good players. I know one thing is for damn sure...he can't score in the half court like Steve Nash can. It's either a wide open 3 point shot or a drive to the rim. His passing and defense is nothing to scream about either.
