Providing the Spurs don't fuck this one up.

And also the stupid foul calls on Bowen allowed Nash to play like a God in that stretch in 4th quarter. Otherwise the Spurs would have won easily even with Manu pulling a Dirk.

No one is to blame. It's not something either were trying to do. That shit happens. It's disappointing that both got hurt, and that the nose never stopped bleeding, but no one deserves fault in the accident.

I wanted to see Nash back in there. After a great game it just seems cheap that he was out the last 2 minutes. Barbosa doesn't have the skill or intelligence to make the right decisions down the stretch...especially in a half court game.

Who gives a fuck

You can't play defense with your head. Tp broke Nash's ankles and his head was in the way. Hence the foul.

Hope Nash is ready for game 2.

Obstructed_View

Just because a guy gets bloodied doesn't mean he didn't commit a foul. The rules in this game favor the offensive player. Nash initiated the contact by reaching in.

Sweep? Unlikely.

We've got a LOT of shit to fix - FAR too many turnovers. Missing a LOT of FTs - especially key FTs down the stretch. Lots of easy looks for the Suns. Too many 3s early on.

We scraped by with some luck. I'm grateful that we did - and I still think we can win in 5, but the next game is going to be really hard to win for the Spurs. They will not win with a repeat of this afternoon's performance.

Styptic wouldn't work on that volume of blood...he was cut pretty bad...that Nash was able to continue is amazing...I have much respect for that...but, then again, that's why he gets paid the big bux...
I've seen it work on nastier cuts than that in boxing matches. Usually the cuts are around the eye, though. A decent cutman can almost always get the bleeding stopped within 60 seconds.

Oh, I get it: That's why the Spurs have won so many straight playoff games in Phoenix; it's the officiating. That's why the reason why the Spurs win the majority of the games between these two teams.

Yeah...the Suns need to hire a good cutman, then...but I think the nose is much harder to stop than the forehead or eyebrow...it's a convoluted surface. Nash may have cut a vein in his nose..he was really bleeding. If this were a boxing match, the ref would've stopped the fight...he had blood in his eye...that's a TKO in the making.

Right; the fact that Nash initiated the contact by leaning in obviously is not relevant to you. Clearly, you are simply an unbiased, inexperienced novice who just has an honest question.

The fact that the Spurs own the Suns (7 of the last 9 games ) is not germane to the discussion either.

Vescey also laughed and said Parker doesn't know what he's talking about. Parker explained how he stole the ball after a Marion pick and roll and took the ball up court before he and Nash clashed. Vescey thought Parker was saying that he got injured on the Marion pick and roll.

Fucking Vescey was laughing and wasting time with this.

6 minutes from Jones and 12 from Kurt.

It's high time the Jones experiment ends. Kurt played Duncan very tough (as did Amare) and his defense is sorely needed.

Almost every one of Tim's shots were contested and against pretty good defense.

I'm a physician who does many nasal surgeries. The nose has small arteries that are much larger and more superficial than other areas of the face. I think the one that Nash had severed in the collision was just not going to stop without several minutes of him lying down with direct pressure on the area followed by cauterizing or tying it off and stitching up the laceration. The "styptic" they were using is just inadequate for such an injury, and the small band-aids were a joke.
It was a travesty that he was allowed to play for so long with that amount of bleeding. The safety of the other players is also a consideration. Nobody suspected that Magic Johnson was HIV+

Do you pay attention to anything besides points? Ginobili shot the ball very poorly but he did a lot of other things well. He rebounded great, he didn't have any turnovers in 28 minutes, and he was very effective feeding Timmy in the post so that he could make his move immediately and score. He had a good "team" game, even if his individual day doesn't look that great.

Once again picking up those 2 quick fouls in the first took him out of his offensive rhythm. That 2nd one was such a bs call. He got sandwiched between two suns on a screen and nash just flopped.

Once again all the Suns fans are bitching about Nash being out at the end while forgetting that the Suns coudn't get a stop at the end of the game. Methinks that had nothing to do with Nash being out. If anything, him being out helped them on the defensive end.

There's no way you run over picks against Parker. Ever.

Smart to live and die against Parkers jumper rather than let him loose against your bigs in the paint. You saw the result a few times when he took Marion to the hole.

The Suns have to hope that Parkers J is not going for the rest of the series. If he continues to shoot jumpers like he did today, it's over. Period.

I disagree. I don't see this series going more than 5 games. San Antonio seems to have D'Antoni's Suns confounded on the offensive end compared to the way they are able to execute against most other if not all other teams. It's about execution. If the Spurs defense continues to disallow Phoenix's high flying, circus act to get rolling the Suns don't have a chance.

Sorry but Manu didn't have a good game to me. You expect more from Manu than just feeding Tim. He didn't have his usual aggressiveness on defense too.

He wasn't there when offense was struggling and when he tried, he missed several layups. Spurs were lucky that TP was hot during those streches.

He also missed criticals FT's that could have cost more than they did.

I think it will. They've improved a bit since the 2005 series. Not enough to win it... but they're good enough to take it to 6.

However, if they don't find a way to win Tuesday... this very well could be a repeat of 2005.

And they died today.

Didn't he open the game going 8/8 from the field?

A change in defense was needed. If going over wouldn't work cause of his lane penetration, having the big guy pop out might've disrupted even for a moment.

Parker is a Suns killer. This matchup is great for him.

If it weren't for those free throws the Suns had in the 3rd, this could've been a blowout.
