Would be quite beneficial if David West could miss just one more game and the Hawks could pull off the upset.

I think Chris Paul needs to stop being so fake. He's not an All Star nor is David West. They only got picked to be All Stars because the ASG was held in New Orleans, simple as that. I've gotten quite tired of this Hornets team acting like they're elite and that the league should respect them. Spurs will win by 10+

Spurs always do good against young teams, no matter how talented. Either the Hornets will out-hustle the Spurs to a victory tonight, or the Spurs will just bludgeon them with their usual veteran smarts and team-play. Of course, I'm hoping for the latter.

Tough game. The Spurs have to come out with hustle and energy. No way they can fall behind early or give this team the belief they can win the game.

David West just said on the Hornets pregame on CST that if he had to pick a favorite NBA player, past or present, he would pick David Robinson as he was growing up, then Tim Duncan.

He said that he appreciated the way they played the game and that some of the positives that he used to hear said about Robinson and Duncan, he feels are similar to his game and mindset.

Remember:

"Sat 26 vs.New Orleans L 78-102"

Payback time at NO arena. Take the series season 3-1, sweeping Hornets on their court.

Come out aggressive, not sleep-walking, and keep it up.

Is this game going to be on in Austin? Does anyone know?

No, it's only on San Antonio local TV. If you're in Austin, your alternatives if you want to view the game are:

a) Go to a sports bar that carries Spurs games.
b) Log in to one o' them "funny" websites.

I'll be going for (b) personally. If the NBA let me pay for access to Spurs games, I would. But they don't, since they've deemed Austin a "blackout zone" for the Spurs.

Byron Scott just said the key is to keep Manu from rolling...to get better defense against him. He said he's the ex factor and they'll focus more on him than basically TP/TD...

I think there will be double teams on Manu in this game especially...Perhaps another big assist night from Manu???

God, Horry's shot is completely lost. At this point, I honestly say leave him on the bench even in the playoffs. His shot is UGLY. Does he not practice his shooting anymore?!

Ditto for Damon Stoudamire. And Finley looks scared to shoot, which is understandable as his shot is going the route of Horry and Stoudamire. And Udoka is closely following their lead.

It's a good thing our Big 3 are such great offensive players, because the rest of the lot is very, very suspect. My biggest worry in the playoffs for the Spurs this season.

I wouldn't be too critical of our defense. We've defended adequately well most games, but we're demanding too much of our D if we expect to shoot 40% and win games against good teams. We shot 35% or some such against NJ and won, but that is not a recipe for success against contenders. Good teams will get into rhythm and get on runs. Our offense has to deliver for us to win.

Big 3: 15 - 26
Rest: 3 - 17

Horrible shooting from beyond the arc. Hornets shooting 55% from the field to our 42%. The reason we are down only 7 is that we have 3 more FGA and 3 more FTA.

While, yes, indeed Tony and Chris each have 18 points, there is a significant difference in the fact that CP3 also has 8 assists. He is the proof that one can be a scoring PG who also sets his teammates up.

Finley needs to start knocking down his shots

He's not the only one. The whole bench is putrid offensively. It goes beyond missing Barry.

The usual Suspects have shown up for the Spurs in the first half; Duncan, Parker, Ginobili, and Bowen (he has completely shut down Peja which is as good as him scoring 20 himself).

Finley, Horry, Udoka, Damon Stoudamire, and Oberto have scored a combined 2 points.

It's pretty hard for Parker to rack up the assists when guys like Finley, Horry, and Udoka are clanking shots.
