Definitely better than Shaq. I understand the debatability about whether he or Kobe is better but he’s for sure better than Diesel. Shaq was pretty dominant for a bit, but TD was admittedly the only one who could guard him and had way more longevity. Shaq was irrelevant the last third of his career. Timmy was never irrelevant at any point in his career.

Shaq is probably ahead of Tim in the top 10 all time, but Kobe is 12 - 14 all time, according to several pundits with different media outlets. Time will see Kobe slip to the high teens, even low 20's in my lifetime.
Shaq wasn't "pretty dominant for a bit" unless you only watched Spurs game. Shaq changed the way the game is played. He wasn't super talented but was for his size, and was unstoppable by anyone except Kobe.
Way to come along and tell people it's a troll post. No one knew.
Jim got cucked by Argentina and Gil Urbano, therefore he's automatically disqualified from top 10 considerations.

It's all a subjective debate. Tim's absolute peak wasn't as good as Shaq's, for example. But if you want to build a franchise for 2 decades of success I don't see anyone (in the modern era at least) that you pick ahead of Tim.
Probably not even a top 10 PF tbqh.
Tim Duncan's defense is one thing that never gets mentioned enough. He is probably the best defensive big man in history. It's insane and a travesty that he never won a defensive player of the year. He made so many teammates look good and even great such as #2 on defense. Teammates knew they could gamble and play aggressive D because even if their man beat them they knew Tim would be back there waiting to clean up any mistakes.
That's a delusional take. Duncan went out in the 2nd round of the playoffs while breaking the Spurs record for regular season wins while Kobe went out with a 20 win team that couldn't make the playoffs multiple years in a row cause he was holding the roster hostage. Duncan was clearly better than both
you are smoking crack
an argument could be made for garnett and duncan to flip places tbh
Kobe is not Top 5. Duncan is nowhere rated lower than 7th. Garnett ain't Top 10 at all, not even close. Harden, Curry and load management aren't even top 30
don’t hate me; hate the game

Duncan's accomplishments were also racked up playing for a franchise that was extremely frugal. The Spurs were routinely outspent by rival franchises during Duncan's career. Go back to 2004, 2006, & 2008 and give his teams an extra $10mil to play with-- he'd almost certainly add to that ring total. In those three seasons alone, the Lakers outspent the Spurs by about $30 million dollars. From 2000 thru 2010, the Lakers outspent the Spurs in every single season. The Lakers were almost always in the top third of spenders in the league, while the Spurs were often in the bottom third. Switch those scenarios & you probably get a significantly different ring total.
