We already had a system that looked just for money and did extensive patient dumping because they couldn't pay. That's what the free market looked like back in the day. Makes sense for the bottom line, but it's completely inhumane.
That's why Reagan ended up having to enact EMTALA. And even that program was never enough. Patients get stabilized and sent back home without treating the underlying condition, which means further future visits.
Any type of healthcare reform needs to be comprehensive, and primarily address cost. That was my main criticism of Obamacare, it didn't tackle cost, and so we keep putting lipstick on a pig, and revisiting because it didn't solve the underlying problems.

Side note: There's no free market whatsoever without a liberal (in the 19th century sense) legal framework. Free markets don't work without property rights and neutrally enforced contracts.

Utopian has the connotative meaning of everyone pitching in for the common good. That's the aspiration for socialized medicine.

Utopian means something so perfect it’s realistically impossible. What I asked of you is to describe the most perfect free market healthcare system you envision so we can discuss it’s connotations. ie: things like how does profit motive and fiduciary duty to shareholders, pillars of free market and capitalism, fit with prioritization of patient care, safety nets, etc.
