In this game more than any orher it seemed Bryn was even a step lower and his iniitial position to defend was always wrong. It was terrible defense in so many ways and always gave his man a head start. Then on the switch... when then rebound is needed for the stop . Whether Jaren Jackson or rhe Russian BRYNs trying to block ...whats the point hahaha.

But the worse one was when Bryn would gamble to leave moRant, thus giving the offensive.. sealed it for me. He's low IQ d , doesn't matter about effort. Btw pops response after that play was to bench DJ. It was Bryns man on this play. Pop sees differently however. Its sickening to watch

You know that thing you do in basketball, where you actually put the ball in the hoop? Yeah. Maybe Dejounte, Derrick, and Lonnie can actually do that next game. That would be helpful

There's A sequence from the 6min mark of 2nd. BRYN scores on couple of threes but they can back on him every play. It just wasnt sustainable. Instead of making inroads
to the score, it just got bigger.

Unfortunately for the spurs game played on both ends. Pop deserves a d grade. He prioritizing offense over Defense which is forcing him to overplay Bryn.

I don't care how good Forbes is on offense, when his defense is creating more scoring opportunities for the opposing team than he makes. At best he is a C but on most nights he is C- or below.

    Thanks for the grades.

I never like to criticize the grades but you can’t tell me Bryn Forbes played a B+ game, you just can’t. 29 minutes 2 rebounds 0 assist 0 steals 0 blocks. Anything he does on offense is completely negated by his piss poor defense. I’m guessing you’re grading him on Bryn standards and not a NBA basketball player standard.

Great write-up. In a rare instance I missed the game, so it was good to hear about the upside of he loss. DDR is playing great and it's cool to see him recognised for his steady work. LMA too, love the new 3 pt game he's developed and think it will add to more W's in the end. Maybe the youngster went out late on Beale Street where there is plenty of trouble and good times to be found.

He was comparing him to Dejounte Murray last night. Who also played no defense and had 15 less points. Forbes would get an A if Timvp we’re comparing him to our supposed savior in Lonnie Walker

When I wake up the morning after a Spurs game, the first thing I check is the game grades here on Spurstalk. From now on, I will just skip right over the Forbes grade because anything over a C is too high unless he manages to get a game winner.

After the articles here and statistics regarding the horrible defense Forbes plays, I've been breaking down every play he is involved in and no matter what he does on the offensive end, it pales in comparison to how badly he breaks the defense. If his man doesn't go around him like he was a department store mannequin and score an easy shot, then a help defender is forced to come over and his man gets a pass for an easy shot. It happens too many times and Forbes role in the whole sequence is a weak hand clap after the other team scores with the occasional oddly timed muscle flex.

It's weird I did the same for last nights game. Had to rewatch with focus on Bryn . You summed it up to a tee. It was shocking how much space he was allowing his man and was literally 2 steps behind. Making it worse was his initial position to guard. It was always wrong and forced his teammates to leave their man because Bryn was behind

    wow the sniffing never stops.

Forbes and Pop an average grade of B

Such a shame. Sniffmvp writing is pretty good but he always ruins it with bias grades in favor of Pop and Bryn

Flopovich loses to the Grizzlies and that's a B-? Forbes gave up at least 15 points ...in the first quarter. That's the sole reason why the Spurs had to play from behind all night. I don't care if he scored 21 points, he was -13 for a reason. White, Walker and Murray being up and down is to be expected. Forbes is just who he is, a G-League player who should play 10 min max

Dejounte was responsible for 18 points, but yeah let’s not act like DJ’s bad defense is equivalent to Bryn’s bad defense

I don't get the love Forbes gets from some around here. Why do some willingly eat every sandwich Pop serves up?

You, like the rest of st, be ignorant. The spurs are one of the worst defensive teams in the league. It's not Bryn Forbes. Its the low iq of any type of defensive scheme. The spurs dont help well, if at all. They dont switch or rotate well. And they dont stop ball. In addition to all of that mess, they are soft on the boards, except for murray. It's hilarious to see you people type about someone you dont like and pretend moving one player will make the defense, or the spurs bigs nasty.

    Doesnt get much dumber tbh.

Most of this starts from Bryn getting exposed . Thats how the grizzlies attacked so yes . You can make it easier on the help defender simply by supplanting one guy from the SL.

Your Love and hate for players is dumbing it down tbh

If only pop made the same adjustment against the Grizz.

5min into the 3rd . He benched Bryn for good.

The weakest link was out and that zone defense held on to win.

    Lol
