Kerry was also up against a war-approving post-9/11 voting population who saw a vote for a Democrat as a vote for another attack on our soil. Plus Michael Moore was in his prime (popularity wise) and was basically the face of liberals, which was not a great look.
Sounds like another “ran into a buzzsaw!” excuse for a moderate losing an election.

Not sure if directed at me - or including me -
    but I don't consider myself a "berniebro"
    You should consider reconsidering that.

    You should consider reconsidering that.
    Why?

Because I want someone to try and help the unfortunate? Or at least base his platform on it?

Not just wrong. A ing sheeple idiot who should never be trusted with any decision ever again.
I’m not calling all Biden supporters sheeple idiots. I’m calling the ones who vote based on what their pastor tells them to do sheeple idiots.

The difference between 2004 and 2006 vis a vis public opinion about the Iraq War was dramatic. By 2008 there was a even an antiwar candidate on the GOP side.

Sorry - not agreeing with your sarcasm and snark -

Someone - somewhere - needs to stand up and try to at least propose something other than what has failed so far.

Since I've explicitly said that at least twice, yes. OK, Bernie has one built in excuse. What else? Let's get them out of the way now.
that’s it. I already said that pending results I’d call him a ty candidate in retrospect.

In all likelihood an idiot who underestimated the negative view most Americans still have to the word socialism tbh.

Their eyes and ears still work too. Rando progressives complaining about the stupidity of their elders is frequent enough to be noticeable.

Overwhelmingly Republican unfortunately regardless of who’s on the other side.

Young people exist and don’t vote. Trying to convince old people to vote Democrat didn’t work 4 years ago so I’m hoping the strategy of getting young people out to vote works.

Fortunately the primary will be a good litmus test. If Sanders is as bad at driving millennial voter turnout on Tuesday as he was yesterday he’s dead in the water and it’ll be a good thing since it means Sanders v Trump would have been a disaster.

I’d actually like all the other candidates out of the race to we could see who wins Biden v. Bernie heads up.

Yeah two can play at that game. Joe Biden complaining about how easy he thinks millennials have it is noticeable too.

So far it’s gotten young people to vote against Biden.

Interesting numbers for people who hadn't voted before:

In notching his second place victory in South Carolina, Sanders received the support of 26 percent of those who said they were voting in their first Democratic presidential primary. That far exceeded his performance of 18 percent among those who had voted before....

Biden's support among first-time voters, at 33 percent, was less than his support among return voters, which was 52 percent.

This could be an outlier given the demographics, but the new voters don't seem to be monolithic.

I give more credit to the Dems with their fingers in the air, perhaps occasionally influenced by their cons uents' noisy complaints.

The nearly total Dem conformity with GWB during 2001-2004 is even more striking now than it was at the time. GWBs overall approval rating ed in the 90s.

iirc Kerry even said during his campaign that if he could do it all over again he’d still invade Iraq. Kerry was tripping over his own to try and look “tough on terror” while still being a Democrat and it made him look indecisive and weak.
Kerry wasn't a good leader. The people were way ahead of the leaders on that one.

Joe Biden is a dummy, but he is still a skilled.politician.

It's too bad his mind is starting to go, but perhaps that's politically survivable now that Trump has broken the norm that Presidents not be evidently sadistic and crazy.

I’m talking about his negative complains about millennials from months ago.

So far his support from young people has been solidly in the single digits.

Getting people fired up will do that. Political passion counts, for good and for ill.

At this point almost everyone has a strong opinion about who should win and ready disdain for other candidates and their supporters. Singling out this or that candidate for what people say on social media is a reliable indicator of who the speaker doesn't like, and little more.

I tend to doubt Trump and Bernie have a monopoly of trolls online.
Only Democratic candidate I have disdain for is Bloomberg. He is ing cancer.

With the exception of HW (Reagan coat tails) and Clinton (helped by Perot) the perceived party "moderate" has lost every time since I was in middle school.
