Well, the DNC is dead set against him it was never going to be easy.
Sanders might have beaten Trump in Michigan in 2016 but it's hard to imagine the overall 2016 result wouldn't have been the same if not worse.
As you or someone else has already said, Sanders' viability as a candidate in 2016 was largely due to Clinton's unlikability. And she still got more votes than he did. America's just not ready for Sanders yet.
Well, the DNC is dead set against him it was never going to be easy.
He wouldn't fight,,,he wouldn't get mean. He wanted to skate to the nomination on an imminent temporal rug. Uh, uh,,,the "dead set" was never going to permit that.
& he'll soldier after he quits it. Just have to hope (his people) won't follow that surrender to Biden, or, say they will, but, actually won't come Election Day.
Everyone assumes the DNC is against Bernie Sanders because establishment, elitism, etc. etc. but isn't it possible that they favor other candidates because they know a guy who calls himself a Democratic Socialist can't win a national election, and may negatively impact down ballot votes as well?
Whether you feel it was malicious or not, what we ended up with in most states is a head-to-head primary between two candidates, and Bernie is losing. The general public doesn't even know what the DNC is or who they favor, they see two names on a ballot and recognize one of them as the Vice President 4 years ago.
its a little bit of both...
the media did help to tee it up though - with 24/7 stories about the “doom” of bernie being the leader...
the backlash against bernie winning in nevada...the socialism panic...
and yes
the voters saw all the news reports of how catastrophic a bernie win would be and voted out of fear...
unless you believe that biden basically saying “you want change? Revolution? .... nah..lets just calm our fear of big bad trump and return to normalcy...
how inspiring
Id believe all of this if what the DNC/media were doing was simply trying to keep Sanders off the ticket while giving the other candidates a level playing field for voters to decide from but that’s not what they’re doing - for the last two primaries they’ve picked a horse very early on and have slanted everything in that candidate’s favor at the expense of the other candidates, not just Sanders.
In 2016 there was obvious pressure to not get in Hillary’s way (unless you actually believe that none of the potential candidates at the time sans Hillary wanted to run on the heels of an extremely popular 2 term Democrat).
This time there were nonstop news stories about the other candidates’ weak spots (Sanders’ socialism label, Buttigeig’s record on race, Klobuchar being a to her staff, etc.) but nothing about how Biden’s campaign was trying to shield him from public appearances as much as possible or how weak he looked mentally. The coverage of Biden’s campaign was notably more lenient than the coverage of any other campaign.
He does have a lot of gaffes but he's better in town hall settings etc. Either way I've read three books on him and other Democrats and watched hours of his debates and he is fairly sharp oveall so it's not like he is someone I don't know strengths/weaknesses eise. For dure someone like mono who's entire exposure to him consists of watching spoon fed lowlights then reacting like this
.
Had nothing to add in terms of my knowledge of him
I'm so sorry this is happening to you mono. I really am.
Lol I went to vote. Then I went to the grocery store.
Nobody was beating Biden, because the powers that be were never going to allow it.
Plenty of other moderates to put the thumb on the scale for, but they chose the senile Clintoncrat because ing of course they did.
lol who’s
channeling your hero tbh
G. :
You dont understand
“lesser of two very big evils”
do you?
not voting to please the DNC or biden or dems or anything or anyone else-
doing it to stop the criminal traitor
I'll give you 2016 but I disagree for this year. We had 10+ Democrat candidates like a month ago. If Biden wasn't so dead set on tanking his own campaign early on, he might have gotten more consolidated support earlier, but I don't think anyone felt like he was the surefire candidate until a couple of weeks ago.
I don't watch cable news but as I recall the Biden "inappropriate touching" scandal got a lot more press coverage than Klobuchar being a to her staff. But I do agree that Bernie has faced an uphill battle getting the respect he deserves from the MSM.This time there were nonstop news stories about the other candidates’ weak spots (Sanders’ socialism label, Buttigeig’s record on race, Klobuchar being a to her staff, etc.) but nothing about how Biden’s campaign was trying to shield him from public appearances as much as possible or how weak he looked mentally. The coverage of Biden’s campaign was notably more lenient than the coverage of any other campaign.
Imagine taking the time to read three whole books about Joe ing BidenI can only hope one was led “Obama’s Fredo”
Thousands of books I’d rather read.
Very good point. Not to be DarrinS, but can I leave now? Or do I have stay logged in 24/7 until November 3rd while you continually melt down and cherrypick anything negative you can find out about Joe on a daily basis?
Maybe Bernie just isn't as popular as you thought, guys.
Just be here on election night so I can enjoy some sweet, sweet schadenfreude.
Well I'm looking forward to some schadenfraude to see if the Trump movement can do in the flames on same day tbh. I said about 500x in here that any Democrat would be an underdog if the economy remains strong in 2020 so not like I ever guaranteed a win or anything in here even once.
Mono is not a Bernie fan. He just had a nervous breakdown in Super Tuesday because the DNC rigged things and he likes to see everyone get treated fairly. The minute he sees any negative unfair coverage of Joe Biden he'll speak up in defense of Joe too I'm sure, don't worry.
hedging already
If search was enabled you’d see literally zero posts supporting Bernie. I supported anybody but Biden.
I already said Trump was going to win no matter what.
Bernie just isn't as popular as you thought.
bro ur being such a DNC right now
Sanders is saying he'll remain in the race.
Thank Christ. Every day he stays in is a good day for the old man.
ADDENDUM:::though it could be a ruse. That's how Obama did everything. "Yes." then "No." That way he covered the entire gamut.
