Prob because they've bribed the politicians
They don't employ Americans. They don't get to pretend they're not American companies when the taxman comes but then come with their hands out expecting us to hand them billions. Carnival should go ask Panama for a bailout, Royal Caribbean can go get their bailout from Liberia, and Norwegian can go get their bailout from Bermuda. They don't want to pay taxes here and employ Americans according to US labor laws? Then not our problem when they're going to go belly up.
Prob because they've bribed the politicians
Coz boomers love those money traps...
Fully agreed.
They are World Champion Tax Evaders,
so 'em when they ask AMERICAN taxpayers to bail out their toxic, pathogenic asses
you missed one:
"All of Disney Cruise Line's ships are officially registered with the Bahamas."
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Disney_Cruise_Line
As always, taxpayers bail out the companies and people that own the politicians.
Cruise Ships & Lines: Background
https://www.opensecrets.org/industri....php?ind=T6250
& Americans would still be getting on the gd things if the lines hadn't quit.
Cruise industry is DEAD
nobody will want to board those floating petri dishes after this. you cannot bail out a dead industry. might as well bail out landline telephone industry
its DEAD for a long time minimum 4 years
its crazy that the cruise industry went the way of the ANIC
RIP big gigantic cruise ships
calling it now it will evolve into smaller mini cruise ships but not now maybe in 4 years
Eyup.
'em.
As accurate as floating Petri dish is I like the description of cruise ships as floating golden corrals better![]()
^What's the difference
Not much of a difference I just think floating Golden Corral does a better job at painting a picture of the slobby white trash you typically see on cruise ships.
lotta black folk love cruises tbqh. all you can eat/drink
I never been but seen videos of peeps and at least 30% are big bones black folks
Doesn’t surprise me, they’re probably huge Biden supporters![]()
It isn't that they won't employ Americans, but few Americans are willing to work under those conditions. pay, 8-10 month contracts with ZERO days off, 12-16 hour work days, having to smile as you serve some of the biggest gluts in society. It's probably an awesome job for third-worlders who get all of their living expenses/medical covered by the cruise line as they wire their entire paycheck back home to family.
Regardless... they're going to hurt, but I honestly think the cruise lines (the big ones anyway) are going to be okay. People are still going pack Disney World, casinos, and cruise ships once it is deemed "safe". It's human nature.
They shouldn't get any bailout though.
mein egger
I cruise A LOT. Its always amusing to hear opinions on cruising from people who have never cruised lol. I agree the cruise industry should not benefit from a bailout, but I think they will recover anyway.
Lol the hedge.
Yeah plus second rate entertainment and packed swimming pools
With a name like Maalox, the frequent cruising explains a lot.
No ing .![]()
Yea my name has nothing to do with my health (much like the medication “maalox” has nothing to do with diarrhea)—-it was bestowed upon me by a patient who was mad that I kept giving him maalox for his abdominal distress instead of the morphine or demerol he wanted. Not even clever enough to think of Nurse Ratchet![]()

They are offering themselves up as floating hospitals.
This should scare the crap out of people.
All the college kids playing together on the beaches then nightclubbing in condos, this is were they go when they get sick.
Are there food fights?
Like fat people ramming each other to get at the Lamb?
I imagine it to be similar to the buffet scene from Nutty Professor II
what hedge? this virus will be with us 2–3 years. 1 year for cruise industry to regroup/redesign their ships (smaller/cleaner)
4 years
