Assumptions.and interpretation count for more. Data doesn't speak for itself.

True data can be used to mislead, obfuscate, or tell a lie.

Nah, he and Dr Birx know that have to butter up the old man in order to maintain influence.

It's political. Fauci had to backtrack after what he said about Trump not taking his advice quickly.

I would say he's being crafty. Politics in general requires a bit of ethical flexibility, this President notably corrupts the people around him.

Precocious. We're still in an early phase of the outbreak.Nearly just happened in NY, I shudder to think what it would be like with a higher caseload.

Dude is an amateur making a guess. My money is on studies published by NIH and BMJ way before I thrown in with a businessman's dolled up oped in Medium.
...I'll just bet it is, Winester.

Fauci just took a huge on the media narrative

    Fauci bad now?

    so he clarified-

instead of trump being the reason alone why people died unnecessarily -

fauci, birx AND Trump - were the reason why people died unnecessarily

    got it

the result is the ing same : if you had acted SOONER - people would have been saved

media thought trump was the ONLY bad actor

but instead ALL THREE idiots are to blame

    thanks for the clarification

I dare any Trump supporter to say with a straight face this is the absolute best team that could possibly be assembled.

Just about to post this. What a joke. Two nepotism hires who've never proven much of anything aside from riding the family coat tails. A Fox News broadcaster. A couple of s bag corporate raiders. And a literal nobody who believes in Creationism.

The World Health Organization (WHO) is under fire after Taiwan released the contents of a December email inquiring about the person to person spread of COVID-19, saying it was instead ignored by WHO and denied adequate information to fight the virus.

Taiwan is accusing WHO of downplaying the severity and spread of the coronavirus in an attempt to pander to China even after Taiwan sounded the alarm about at least seven cases of atypical pneumonia that they were aware of in Wuhan where the virus originated.

That medium article uses too much circular reasoning and speculation. I.e.

"We again find no meaningful correlation between speed of State wide shutdown versus projected total deaths. How can this be? Well, there may be much more important factors influencing the spread of the virus, including:

Voluntary behavioral change of residents such as washing hands, staying away from large groups, not touching one’s face, etc."

Um, a state wide lockdown is pretty in' good at preventing people from interacting in large groups.

And he does it AGAIN. Lol.

It would be reasonable to assume that State wide shut downs almost certainly does slow down the spread of the virus to some unknown extent. What we don’t know is how effective a State wide shut down is compared to other measures taken such as washing hands, wearing masks, avoiding large events
Yes, it's very "reasonable to assume" a shutdown that prevents those large gatherings and events is effective in slowing spread because that is literally how virus transmission can rapidly spread. We saw this with patient 31 in South Korea and we see this with how densely populated areas are getting hammered.

I was waiting for "muh Sweden." A favorite example of Libertarian twitter everywhere. First of all, his graph showing Sweden's precipitous decline isn't convincing of much anything. Deaths lag, reporting slows down over the weekend, and Sweden just reported their peak in daily cases 4 days ago. It stands to the reason they will be experiencing a few more death peaks over the next month. And why is Sweden an example of anything? Norway and Denmark have about the same population as Sweden, but the death count is 919 vs. 419. Sweden is also a much smaller country with a healthier population. Easier to apply the herd immunity strategy there than it would be here. The Netherlands also went for the herd immunity strategy and has gotten hammered. So did the UK in the early days. Also hammered.

There will be no to little "opening up" until we get mass testing and tracing.

It's just much easier for simple minds to blame Trump for covid19. The US isn't a totalitarian government. The reaction was maybe a few weeks late from total lockdown but you dont sell a total lockdown to the US public when nobody is sick.
