One way to gloss the ad is that it attacks Trump for being hypocritical in his racism. It's weird messaging and even if it were garden variety campaigning, once upon a time it was done by third-parties, putting distance and deniability between the candidate and the campaign dirt.
For Biden to endorse this message is weird.

Well, it'll be interesting to see how true this is. I know Hillary was bought and paid for by the Chinese, so at least we took a chance on someone who had a chance of turning course.
4 years ago that logic was fair imo. Trump was an unknown while the DNC was stopping people at the convention door to make sure they didn’t have an anti-TPP sign because they wanted to tuck Hillary’s globalism under the rug.
Four years later, this time around, it’s pretty clear Trump is as much globalist as the rest of them.
