All you have to do is look at the video yourself. The police made a statement that they found the knife on the floor of the car after the fact, which was true. Getting shot seven times tends to make you drop the knife. Where it was found on the floor. Duh.

You then said he dropped it the car floorboard after being shot. Not sure how he could have done that when his left hand was holding the open car door when he got shot, thus if he dropped the knife it would have ended up outside of the vehicle.
