Norms were already ed when McConnell decided to make the Supreme Court 8 justices. Democrats should absolutely stack the courts should they win the presidency and senate.

Not only that, once McConnell ended the filibuster on SCOTUS picks so they could ram Gorsuch through, the argument from establishment Dems about how we need to be careful about ending the filibuster went away. It's pretty clear that McConnell would eventually end the filibuster altogether if it was getting in the way of legislation his corporate overlords really wanted.

If the Democrats don't use the nuclear option on the filibuster in order to ram a bunch of legislation through, the Republicans eventually will. Better to be proactive than reactive. I can't think of better legislation to end the filibuster with than legislation around adding states to the union that pad a Democrat majority.

why do you keep suggesting we stick congresspeople with no judicial experience to the highest court? just get a qualified judge who has some experience on appeal

a vast majority of SCOTUS cases aren't very political charged and cant just be easily decided based on your political leaning and how you want to spin your interpretation of the case/statute to accommodate your beliefs. thats just the one that make the news.

Yeah I fully support exploiting how flawed and out of date the cons ution is in order to help your side push its agenda / stop the other side from pushing its agenda by any means necessary, but there's no point in exploiting it just for the sake of exploiting it. a congressperson has an undeniable record and are a known commodity on how they will rule. it is zero-sum, raw politics at this point. some obscure appeals court judge with benign rulings, you are playing roulette. you don't want an O'Connor
