Bloomberg coming through for you guys in FLA, though. Dems pick off FLA and this sh1t is over.
The big difference this cycle is undecided voters. Hillary might have been leading the whole time, but she never got above 50% in the national popular vote.
The Democrats are doing everything to themselves in Wisconsin and Pennsylvania right now though by holding up the mailing of absentee ballots because of a stupid court battle over green party candidates on the ballot.
Bloomberg coming through for you guys in FLA, though. Dems pick off FLA and this sh1t is over.
I remember during the primary how much establishment Democrats like that stupid Claire McCaskill were flapping about how we needed to pick Biden over Sanders because of how poorly Sanders would do with hispanics in Florida.
Kinda looks re ed right now when Biden is polling historically ty with latinos across the country and especially in Florida, both Cubans and non-Cubans![]()
Latinos are unreliable voters. You can only hope to target them and try to get them out. In the end they still won't show up.
Trump still loses them. Biden also doing exceeding well with 65+ older voters sort of offsets that.
Quite the goalpost move from "We can't pick Sanders because he won't do as well as Biden is going to do with hispanics in Florida!"
Biden is doing well with 65+ because of Trump handling COVID letting a bunch of old people die.
Who said that about Sanders?
I recall saying so about cuban americans when Bernie ed up with his Castro lovefest. Not the entire hispanic population.
Also the most recent polling has Trump winning among Latinos in Florida, way better than he did in 2016.
Its OK to just admit the premise that Joe Biden would do better with Florida Latinos than Sanders would do was re ed and unfounded, no ones gonna kill you for it.
If Biden was polling so well with Cubans, he wouldn’t be doing worse with them than Hillary did 4 years ago. The older Cubans who hate Castro are going to vote Republican no matter who’s on the ticket for the left, the idea that they could capture that vote by running a milquetoast centrist when none of the previous milquetoast centrists ever captured that vote was re ed.
I was relieved when the DNC screwed Bernie again. He gets people energized. Could have been massive youth turnout for the Democrats in that scenario.
I just saw a report of a large Trump rally in LAREDO TX which is only like 3% whiteHad to do a double take as I thought he was hated in border towns.
No one knows how that is going to shake out. So there is nothing to admit.
Wherein, we already knew Sanders would get steamrolled in Florida and Arizona.
Moreover, Sanders had more issues than latinos. His lackluster performance with older blacks would have been a massive issue. Imagine depending on record turnout by a bloc of voters that never shows up at the booth in young voters.
Probably so, but he does much better in the rustbelt than Killary. He may even take Ohio, and that's end game.
Older blacks show up and vote Dem no matter who’s on the ticket. It makes no logical sense to think those are votes the Democrats need to win over. As long as Bernie got endorsed by key black politicians like Massa Clyburn and civil-rights-activist-turned-Uncle-Tom John Lewis, the older black vote would show up for him.
“We already knew.” Typical establishment Democrat conventional wisdom. How did we already know? Did that scenario play out in an alternative universe or something?
I’d much rather depend on a candidate turning out young voters than a candidate who’s hoping to win on the historically unsuccessful strategy of winning the middle.
Seeing as the biggest messaging hurdle for Biden with that group is the perceived alignment with socialists and radicals, I'm not sure how you can conclusively say Bernie would have done better.
this ing idiocy of kowtowing just to the blacks and just ignoring the latinos on the sidelines, who legit have no dog in this black vs blue fight. It's going to come down to how many latinos decide to vote against their interests like the non college educated whites have decided to do.
We knew because there were primaries in these states and he got smashed. lol
Unlike you, I would much rather go with voters that I know will actually vote. I will take them over hoping and wishing.
The fact that’s a messaging hurdle for Biden proves my point that nominating him didn’t offer the advantages MSNBC promised everyone it would. I thought the whole point of nominating Biden is so he wouldn’t need to overcome those hurdles.
Those are the hurdles with Cubans in Florida though, not the non Cubans in Florida. The non Cuban Hispanics in Florida are lethargic towards Jim Crow Joe for the same reason they are everywhere else in the country, they’re not inspired by him at all and they’re tired of hearing about how black people are victims.
But Bernie didn't turn out young voters even in the primaries.
I know, the Dems chose your strategy in 2000, 2004 and 2016 and it worked really well each time.
Im not talking about young voters, I’m talking about Hispanics. I constantly heard Biden had some secret sauce that would appeal to Cuban Americans. When’s he gonna start using it?
Non-Cubans are still motivated by comparisons to Petro, Chavez, etc. It's not an equal sum proposal, if Biden is at 46% among Florida Hispanics, Bernie's probably more like 30%. So you minimize the expected impact.
As to your last point, not sure what Bernie does to address that either. He's been more all-in on BLM than Biden has.
Meanwhile Biden may actually win the senior vote.
Whatever Biden did with Latinos against Sanders seemed to work in Florida. I'm not sure how Sanders was going to do better in the general.
What's your secret sauce for him?
Biden is only winning the senior vote because Trump has killed a bunch of seniors, not because of anything Biden did. If someone ran in an election against Hitler and won the Jew vote, it doesn't really mean that person does particularly well with Jews.
Do you have any polling data to back up that 30% claim, or is just more unfounded conventional wisdom?
President Donald Trump on Monday enthusiastically embraced the idea of a four-hour debate moderated by podcaster and former ultimate fighting commentator Joe Rogan.
They would rather then vote
