We have taken unprecedented steps to close businesses, schools, and other places where many people gather, worn masks, and prevented large public gatherings. Over 200,000 people have still died. Without those precautions we are probably talking about over a million deaths. Your stupid anecdotes don't change that fact.

It is worthy of concern, especially from the most powerful people in the country who are tasked with keeping us safe.

I'm a resident physician. Not every patient who dies of COVID has an underlying condition. And that 80-year-old neighbor of yours was fortunate. Hospital ICUs across the world are full of elderly people with COVID, and the mortality rate for individuals above 65 is about 5 times higher than average.

I've also taken care of multiple previously healthy children who developed heart failure secondary to COVID.
