I think Republicans in the senate know there would be to pay if they ever sided with the Democrats on pushing through a simple majority budget reconciliation bill (budget reconciliation is how they passed the tax bill with only 51 votes).
the 60-40 may very well happen in a worst case scenario in 2024 if Kamala gets crushed by a better GOP candidate in the general... republican trifecta with a 60-40 senate edge plus a decent to solid house majority will definitely set progressivism back a ways...

That was a lousy bill, and it likely cost him in MN, WI, MI which are states with relatively high state and/or local income taxes. So if you're making 130k as a suburban white voter your actual net is a lot less than it was in the Obama years because you can only deduct up to $10K in SALT taxes + property taxes.
What are you rightwing, internet posting Trumper kids gonna do with your time now? Maybe have time to do a few gamergates or something I guess. Go back to that whole deal maybe
I mean like voting with them on key . Romney did vote for dear leader's impeachment and Susan Collins and that other old from Nebraska voted in favor to keep the ACA.
The biggest issue with Nevada is that it's Sheldon Adelson's backyard, tbh... there's zero reasons for them not to be done with the count.
Though if Joe nails PA, it doesn't matter.
if Biden balances the budget a-la Clinton or Romney, e.g. no more stimulus crap... I'm all with ridin' with Biden.
Can't undo Trump's trashing of this nation without the senate. I know you're slow but Jesus Christ.
Again maybe they can get Collins/Romney to side with them but they'll never get Collins/Romney to nuke the filibuster such that they only need a simple majority.
Forget about it. Pelosi is going to send 5T, 6T bills to the Senate and continue to dare Mitch to keep blocking them.
Fulton County said it's gonna be dropping a lot of votes shortly.
Then Mitch better as block them. I don't care which party is at fault, but the national deficit desperately needs to go DOWN, NOT up, if we want a snowball chance in in maintaining our status as a top tier economy.
With tears in his eyes crying over the demise of Daddy Trump. Sad.
You realize that Trump's lid is at 5:30pm and Biden's at 9:30am?
So good.
It'd be nice if PA gets called tonight. Having to wait until tomorrow for Nevada to put Biden over the top is not good enough for me. I'm anxious to get this over with.
Mitch McConnell played you MAGA s like a bunch of es. Used you up, got his tax cuts, his SCOTUS justices and his Senate, and then spit you out.
Meanwhile Trump failed on every promise that differentiated him from every other possible establishment Republican president. Swamp still full and no wall, but as a bonus black America got a $500 billion last-minute bribe that didn't help him.
Bet Chris wishes Trump was his real daddy. Nobody be making him watch Maddow in that house!
Oh please go yourself. After GWB and Trump, conservatives have lost all moral high ground to complain about the national debt. Conservatives are the kings of paying for with debt.
Side note before bed for me... Biden, for all his flaws, is actually oddly a smart man sometimes. He's the one that recognized and called out Turkey for harboring ISIS in 2014. The DNC and media, of course, shut him up, because they love Turkey (an autocratic Islamic regime). Biden is savvy on healthcare and knows that the ACA just isn't good enough. Biden is against war in Syria and needless policing of the world overseas "in the name of freedom" unlike Hillary, Obama, Bush's, etc.
DadaTrump hasn't been seem since his speech at like 3AM.
116-140k absentee ballots left to count in Fulton. Ruh roh
Don't forget Reagan who invented the whole deficit spending extravaganza
I wouldn't disagree with that, especially Trump's dumb stimulus crap in 2020. I wanted to Dump Trump after that dumb stimulus, myself. Other than the dumb Iraq war, most of the deficit spending wasn't necessarily Bush's fault. The Afghani war was a necessity, we needed to take revenge on the terrorists who killed 3000 innocent Americans on US Soil.
Oh yeah I've acknowledged my disdain for Reagan on here too, particularly his war on drugs and sympathy for jihadism.
