They did not explain how it would happen. They explained that it might happen. I want to hear the mechanism. The host used the cold as an example. I dont know if this is valid as the adenoviruses that cause the common cold mutate with ease. He seemed to be suggesting we are infected by basically the same cold adenoviruses again and again. From an evolutionary perspective it should make sense that these viruses with minor mutations would hang around as their symptoms are minor and in fact the symptoms are absolutely wonderful at spreading cold viruses on surfaces as well as aerosols. And the minor mutations might not alert the immune system or if alerted, the antibodies and the rest of the immune response are not working well. This does not seem to line up with Covid-19 at this point in time. So I may need to listen to this some more.

    Thanks for the podcast though.

It sounded like really good stuff.

They've discussed in previous episodes but I can't reference you to exactly which one, they're usually 2 1/2 hours long. TWIV is the podcast to listen to for real science updates and discussion.

Once a week Dr. Daniel Griffin gives a clinical update which is really good. You get some interesting insider tidbits as well. Like Trump's pcr test results lol

    Mebbe so.

Have you read Biden's campaign v transition COVID plans? Biden crapified his own plan.
No. What is his crapified plan?

His campaign plan was lockdown the virus without locking down the people so how much more crapified can a plan be.

No. What is his crapified plan?

His campaign plan was lockdown the virus without locking down the people so how much more crapified can a plan be.

First, this new plan isn’t the same as the one on the Biden campaign site. The campaign version had no mention of contact tracing, while this iteration does. But if you simply skim the campaign version versus the president-presumptive one, you’ll see tons of program proposals from the campaign have vanished, like emergency paid leave (with reimbursements to employers), income support for gig workers whose pay has declined, rental assistance, and support for small businesses.

The campaign plan also had sweeping promises about paying for all Covid treatments, not just testing. For instance, this section, by using the term “balance billing” clearly meant it included hospitalizations and emergency room visits:

All copayments, deductibles and any cost-sharing for treatment for COVID-19 for insured. Providers will submit cost-sharing claims to NDMS that do ent private insurance contractual arrangement for co-payments. To ensure maximum provider participation and minimum billing abuses to consumers, current Medicare law’s “conditions of participation” and system-wide prohibitions against balance billing and surprise medical bills will apply. To guard against fraud and abuse by bad-apple health care providers, harsh civil and monetary penalties under the False Claims Act will apply.

There’s not a peep about any of this in the new version. All it has regarding “treatments,” in context, is new medications to reduce the severity and/or length of a Covid infection, and not, say, being administered oxygen in a hospital:

Plan for the effective, equitable distribution of treatments and vaccines — because development isn’t enough if they aren’t effectively distributed.

The lack of financial support for workers to stay at home because they are sick, quarantined, or just waiting for test results makes it difficult to treat this scheme as serious. And the failure to even ask for the government to cover all Covid treatment costs, not just the kind that can be administered with a needle means a lot of people who have or think they have Covid won’t seek treatment until they are really really ill, increasing the load on hospitals and producing worse outcomes.

They were referencing the 4 HCov's (cold viruses) which if you live on earth you have been infected with and continually get reinfected with.

    Ayup.

Hopefully it's not too tall a technical or health administration challenge for the USA. The trend of recent challenges (such as getting enough PPE, rapid testing and contact tracing in the USA,) does not inspire confidence.

The outbreak is general and completely uncontrolled. The public preparartions currently being made for another spell of largely avoidable mass death in the USA, as far as i can tell, are basically nil.
Al our freezers are being used up to store dead bodies.

A 5 day lifespan is impossible for a vaccine that has to be available in all corners 9of USA much less earth.

-80 freezers are standard lab equipment
    1) -80 is not -94, which is the required storage temperature

    2) even if labs have them, most hospitals, clinics and pharmacies don't have such equipment

Looks like the Moderna vaccine is same fraud

Moderna CEO Stephane Bancel made news this morning by stating that Moderna would be pausing its Covid-19 trial enrollment to ensure ethnic diversity among the participants. That was reported by CNBC, but the real news regarding Moderna and its stock is readily available via SEC filings.

This is extraordinary. I have been reading SEC do ents for the past three decades and I have never seen such a mismatch between insider selling and (largely nonexistent in the case of MRNA) insider buying.

CEO Bancel's sales are mostly carried out through a 10b5-1 program, in which periodic sales are executed. Often this is to fulfill tax obligations on shares that are granted via options and restricted shares granted through ownership programs.

    Forbes

Moderna vaccine also has to be stored in dry ice and such.

Why work to develop a product when you can make millions pretending to work for it?

You could be confusing Celsius with Fahrenheit.

This kind of stuff ships on dry ice all the time and gets stored in ultra low freezers.

"The main issue is that the vaccine, which is based on a novel technology that uses synthetic mRNA to activate the immune system against the virus, needs to be kept at minus 70 degrees Celsius (-94 F) or below."

be careful, there’s two diff freezer scandals right now (vaccine freezer and Pelosi’s freezer) and your post could be referring to either one

I can see the next big headline.

All this guessing and parlor talk from dabblers is amusing, but needless. It's not at all uncommon for these things to ship on dry ice and be stored for days that way. A small ultra low temp freezer can store up to 40K 2mL vials. Are people worried that small towns can't afford a $6.5K freezer?

There are places like the USVI that don't have them at all but contingencies are being worked out if the 60 Minutes story is to be believed. Rubes are going to be upset at how little vaccine will be initially shipped and who gets it first. Biden's probably going to look like Superman if he owns distribution as part of his first hundred days.

Now multiply that times enough freezers to store a billion doses spread in every corner of the US.

Thats not even mentioning transportation logistics.

Its ok Nancy. This is hard.
