We need kids back in school amongst others and people out of their houses. The derpage created by this virus due to being shut in is frightening.

Can't believe what these vaccine announcements do to the damn stock market. Solid tech growth stocks go down, stocks like JC Penny go up. Go figure.
I did dodge a bullet Friday, though. I was looking into companies that make super cold freezers which are gonna be required for the Pfizer vaccine. I figured they would be swamped with orders. Now the Mederna checks out and it only requires regular refrigeration.
Makes a little sense if it's expecting a return to relative normalcy for brick and mortar stores and working at offices.

I know the hope peddlers on tv say shots will be in arms by December but, between the logistics and actually getting people to take it - assuming it is indeed approved and sent out by then, it's safe, effective, etc - how much will that actually improve the situation? The virus is going to ravage the country in the meantime possibly to the point of lockdowns. Or is this all looking ahead to 2021 and beyond?
It's also worth noting Moscow Mitch is going to let millions sit in food lines and miss their rent by denying them a stimulus. How many people are actually buying overpriced JC Penny crap even if Christmas is coming?

Pfizer CEO probably was aware of Moderna results and rushed announcement of his to level up share value...
He also sold 60% of his stock the same day when it peaked after the announcement.
It all depends on if it's a sterilizing vaccine or a protective vaccine. We don't know yet but all indications are that it is a protective vaccine. If it is protective then we need to know if it reduces viral load enough to slow the spread. If vaccinated people still spread the virus easily then the road ahead is very long.
Expect 2021 to be like 2020, only getting better at the end of it.
