Kira looks more like a modern high scoring guard in an NBA that doesn’t value defense. Surprised he didn’t go sooner.

You just said they are trash in FA. They are non existent in trades. Yes they draft amazing but in 2 out of 3 phases they suck.

They’ve fallen out of the playoffs, have a worse trove of assets than many teams that are equally as good now. So yeah, I’m frustrated. They are and have been stuck in neutral and it’s getting worse.

I love the pick at 11. I love Vassell. But Sa needs to move on from DDr and LMA and they should have been able to get something positive for them and they just basically ruined their chances at that it appears.

They are behind. It’s not good enough to just not make mistakes. They need to catch up and be creative and get the f*ck out of neutral
Totally agree not able to move LMA or DEROZZ for any young or draft picks is going to set us back a few years. If we don’t move anyone it’s going to be another cluster for Walker, Murray, White, Keldon all fighting for minutes

Spurs so disappointing. Position they’ve put themselves in & stunning lack of creativity/lack of self awareness is frustrating.

Sa can get a good player at 11. But how can they look in mirror & justify running this team back as others not only improve but have brighter futures?
It starts and ends with the guy at the top. The guy who signs off on all the moves and has likely delayed the team's journey back to relevancy by at least several years with more on the way. You know it, I know it and it's okay to admit that

He's well spoken... probably asking for a trade soon....
Well they did compare him to Anthony Davis on ESPN

With this draft choice I suppose we can actually say that DDR has become our official starting power forward for next season... Bring LMA our starting center...

Damn. Can’t believe we passed on Halliburton, a true PG who’s 6’5, plays good Defense, shoots the 3 at a high clip, and is a good passer. Really wish we would’ve drafted him and traded Dejounte. He’s already better at every aspect of the game than DJ and he doesn’t seem to obsess over Instagram like Murray does. There’s a reason the analysts are saying the Kings got the steal of the night. Spurs blew it tbh.

Good call Dejounte on Jalen Smith’s value. Don’t hate the Vassell pick, just feel meh.

I don't know if the logjam at the wing and guard position is something to get worked up over with the Vassell pick.

Look at the picks that followed: halliburton, Lewis, Nesmith, Cole Anthony ... and still Saddiq Bey.

Unless they went with Precious or Stewart etc, there was going to be a logjam from the 2-3 spot

Haliburton would have been interesting but kinda hard to justify with all the point guards we already have on the roster. I do agree he might end up being the steal of the draft.

I don’t think it sets us back really. But we are FAR behind. Other teams have amazing franchise cornerstones and are improving. Sa isn’t.

They have troves of assets and picks to improve in the future. Sa doesn’t.

Sa is behind. Far behind arguably and they won’t do anything to help win now or be realistic about who they are and help their future.

One of the most archaic short sighted teams in the NBA and clearly a bottom tier Fo in the modern NBA at this point.

Any half-smart armchair GM can see it coming. One can only hope they get creative soon. Running this back + Vassell is going to end up the same way running it back worked out last season when just about every other team is actually trying to improve.

Nice pick at 11 but picking at 11 was really pretty much a fallback.

Devin Vassell will be the pick.

weren't the Dubs interested in Vassell? Still hoping for a Wiseman deal although it seems unlikely now that Klay got injured

And I don’t care if all our youth turns into Lebron level players. Yes Spurs draft well but they have been poor every where else and left an insane amount of opportunity out there

Who knows what would have happened if Jalen was there at 11. Jalen was visibly upset when they were interviewing him.

Haliburton looks like another Michael Carter Williams but even less of an offensive game.

Presti showing the Spurs how it's done.

Trade up and back in with your over 30 vets and take a big baller swing for the homerun with Poku

Jake from State Farm wondering if he'll be allowed to finally speak to the media without RC interrupting him and shutting him up

Spurs just drafted that kid to put him in the deal for Harden. DJ, LMA, Vagisil, 2 first rounders. Call it into the league office

White's our PG imo, and is better than Haliburton. I agree that I hope Murray is traded or used as the sixth man tbh.

Do people really believe that moving DD is gonna be easy? Y'all really think that teams are lining up to snag him? Especially if you're looking to get a high pick in return while trying to avoid taking back a bad contracts.

Sometimes, sitting back until a good opportunity comes up is better than making a bad move just for the sake of making moves. Yes, that might mean that we have to watch DD play out his contract this year.

Didn't know Presti was with the Wolves. Now I understand why they chose Poku. Man, I miss Sam. This pretty much guarantees Poku will pan out.
