Moving DD with 27.7 mil salary isn't as easy as moving Kennard at 5.2 mil. How is it so hard to understand that?

Everyone in the league knows that DD is a net negative player. He wouldn't move the needle for any of the 29 other teams and it's no secret.

You know that "Force Trade" option is for 2k only, right?
Everyone knows he’s a negative player but...Sa traded Kawhi for him ?

I just threw up in my mouth a little. No, seriously, you for saying that because it could really be true.
Sorry Zeus, I'm not trying to be funny

The trade market will be zero. But LMA will pout and bat his eyes at RC and BW, and they'll be like, "Aw shucks, LaMarcus, you're such a swell guy, we'll buy you out so you can sign with Portland now and not wait until the summer!"

LMA: "Really, honest and true? And I'll only have to give up $1 million, less than I'll get pro-rated with Portland?"

    RC: "You got it buddy!"

Rinse and Repeat with Gay and DDR with other teams.

It's only a non-improvement for the Spurs if they keep Forbes.

    ! They're gonna keep Forbes, aren't they?

I don't think they've been as bad as people made it seem. It does feel like they're so scared of making the wrong move that they avoid making any big moves. I'd like them to pick a direction, but I'm also okay with them not committing hard either way. But they should start look at trades to clean up their roster. No that doesn't mean LMA and DMDR have to go out so the Spurs can avoid letting them walk. But they should be acquiring vets or additional firsts for their young players and aren't doing that. I also wish they were move aggressive with their big expirings like Gasol and Jackson. , even Bonner. It's like they went from throwing away picks for any ty vet to keeping them locked away even when there are clear upgrades out there.
    Yea. So they suck.

I have my preference on what they should do but making horrendous FA decisions and not optimizing any assets and not picking any direction? GTFO with all that.

If other teams were doing same I get it. I’m upset because as I mentioned they are getting absolutely lapped. They aren’t good now, have no cornerstone and have nothing in their trove to show for it.

It’s flat out lazy and poor.

Drafting has been very good; free agency and trading lackluster
Sure. So grade them vs their division and the West now. Where do they rank in short term, mid term and long term?

    Rinse and Repeat with Gay

Okay, see... I never expected to read the words, "rinse and repeat with gay" in a sports forum. No matter what happens from here on out, I've got that.

Sadly, I really can see nobody else wanting to over-pay for Forbes, and SA bidding against themselves to keep him.

We upgraded over Forbes. Assuming the Devin guy can hit open 3s.

    Gah what a depressing night.

Somebody earlier in the thread said Presti was in Minnesota. Maybe he got confused, I never heard of Presti leaving OKC, tbh. Anyways, whoever is picking for the Wolves, he's making a of a job.

That was a bad trade, no arguments here. I'd definitely pay to see what kind of packages were officially offered by Celtics & Lakers.

That being said, there is the caveat of nephew having taken away any leverage we should've had by threatening to sit out the year unless he's traded to LA and/or just walking away after playing out the year.

The other teams to have definitely learned form our mistake of hoping to make DD a + player.

There's nothing dumb about it. Long-term the Spurs are only going to keep at most two of those guys. Trading the one they don't intend to keep for an upgrade seems like an obvious play, especially if that upgrade is young enough to still be around in a couple of years.
I agree long term they are probably only going to keep two. I strongly disagree with moving one in order to help two career losers like LMA and DDR, continue to lose and then leave next year.

There is no player in the nba you are going to trade who is good enough right now to "help" DDR and LMA, while also being better than murray, while also being as young or younger than murray, while also being on a deal that keeps him here at least 2 years or you know you can resign him.

The fact that it was phrased as helping two veterans players who are on one year deals, one who outright said he wants to end his career somewhere else and the other who you could not come to turns on a long term contract with is frightening.

He is a + player. Spurs just refuse to hurt their quest for 40 wins unless they get a crazy package. Take any firsts and move on.
