Even if some are on the fence about it this morning, think Trump can go 12 hours without saying something else that could incite violence? I wouldn't put money on it.

That was yesterday. Republicans will say they only want to look forward. Yesterday was the chance to invoke the 25th Amendment and like every other trial the last four years, Pence failed.
They all still look at Trump s as a political chess piece. They want to “condemn violence” and “unify the country” but still keep the door open on courting those votes. Being on board with removing Trump shuts that door.
Republicans still need those votes going forward. That’s why Josh Hawley’s future is still bright.

AOC has it exactly right. If the 25th Amendment is not put to use today then the chance it'll get use gets less likely every day.

I think Hawley's done, tbh. He might be able to squeeze by as Senator a few more terms but his presidential ambitions are over, and it's probably good for Ted Cruz that Hawley looks more like the fall guy.
