Hidden in this snakeboy post if you look closely at it is the implicit acknowledgement that a fat, orange skinned buffoon engaged in a hostile takeover of the entire Republican party via a rogue twitter account which is somehow less embarrassing
Just on the FB posts I saw from my friends and family member a lot of the middle of the road people noticed and shared the Lincoln ads so a lot of them liked them

There’s no way to prove this or disprove this, I just think that if the Lincoln Project ads caught your eye, you were already leaning against Trump. The ads didn’t seem to have a target audience of moderate Republicans the way RVATs message did. The RVAT campaign where it played videos of life long Republicans explaining why they were voting for Biden seemed like a real effort to target GOP voters (and I hate Bill Kristol 10x more than any of the Lincoln Project s, so it’s not like I’m biased on that front). Lincoln Project ads like the one making fun of the Ivanka #findsomethingnew shtick or them putting billboards up on Time Square (since NYC is such a bellwether) did more to trigger Trump supporters than flip votes.
It wasn't about Trump. It was about keeping the power and status quo with the façade of a 2 party system, basically the WWE of politics. Trump made too many enemies by playing the Michael Corleone act and treating his party like Moe Green.

Who even knows what ads are effective now or even if ads in general are effective anyway. 2016 Trump got hit with a trillion ads in the primary and general and barely had any paid media until the end of the general election and still won.
tbh I thought some of the Lincoln was pretty funny like the ones mocking Lindsey Graham crying so maybe I'm biased lol. Also, I am somewhat wary of the critiques of them as most of the people I see ting on them online are leftists who did literally jack to help Biden get elected (almost all regular soccer mom style and older dems love the Lincoln project afaik). The guys who spent all the first half of 2020 calling Biden a rapist and senile are touchy that the Lincoln Project Ads may have been helped him get elected. Basically people who were never in Biden's corner for one second ting on a group that just unabashedly pushed him forward all year
Their ads were definitely hilarious and my criticism of them isn’t rooted in the fact I’m a leftist (granted I might stop calling myself that because Twitter leftists have gotten so unbelievably stupid I don’t like being associated with them), it’s rooted in my agenda to show that there’s no such thing as a good Republican and Democrats shouldn’t abandon their platform to win 7% of the Republican vote instead of 5%. Biden created a platform that unified the Dems which is why he won imo, no one else could have done as well with blue dog Dems and simultaneously progressives as Biden did.
