Trump's role in this was as follows as I see it.
1. Downplaying it (which a first was not unusual because we did not know)
2. Downplaying it when he was told this is really serious.
3. Hiring complete idiots to get experts together for a NONUNIFIED response.
4. Waffling back and forth to suit his various voters (the end is just around the corner; really just the sniffles
5. Disseminating and embracing CURES that were totally bonkers.
6. Shifting the blame and suggesting it was a CHYNA made virus.
7. Claiming to be an expert on the disease and then looming over the experts to downplay it.
8. Lying about masks and suggesting do anything you want; then purposely not wearing one.
9. Getting himself infected, and then recovering because of the best treatment possible and claiming it was minor.
10. Purposely creating discord between states and then giving states the greenlight to do whatever. Essentially pitting different parts of the country against each other
11. Never ever giving a clear signal on anything. "GET VACCINATED, WEAR A MASK. My suggestion" never.

I still can't understand the vaccine holdouts. We are probably all going to eventually get it. I've already had it (before vaccine was available) and survived it but it was nasty as . I got vaccinated as soon as I could after. Now, Delta is here. Statistically 99% of those now hospitalized and dying are unvaccinated. How can any rational person argue that the vaccines don't help to keep you from dying?
I have an anti-vax employee I tried to reason with to get vaccinated but no luck. Now he and his whole family have the delta and it looks like his wife is headed for the hospital and a ventilator.

They’re not interested in a good faith conversation and their “concerns” are just a ruse to try and make their nonsense seem more credible and thought out. It’s unfortunately on all of us if they want to be human Petri dishes who accelerate the spread of COVID so it mutates into a strain that’s vaccine resistant much quicker, or when they’re occupying every hospital bed in the country and people having a medical emergency that’s not COVID related can’t get care. Even ignoring that, our healthcare costs are going to go up even if we’re vaccinated because of the anti-vaxxer hospital bills that will go unpaid and Biden is too much of a pussy to allow insurance companies and healthcare providers to start discriminating against anti-vaxxers.
I’m also dead serious that Biden should seek to cut anti-vaxxers off from any government assistance they’re getting, but the woke police won’t ever let that happen because it’ll “disproportionately affect minorities.” If you’re part of the reason that this virus is still surging, you shouldn’t be getting food stamps, Medicaid, unemployment, etc.
