Of course half of Kabul now trying to get to Airport and its a ing cluster . Taliban most likely did not like that stupid idea and now the Airport is shut down probably indefinitely.

We should have evacuated the embassy and gotten US assets/translators/etc visas months ago imo. It seems like the generals were totally oblivious to how inept the Afghan army was or how quickly it’d fold. If you’re going to evacuate then you should EVACUATE ie get the out of the country.
Granted even if Biden did all of that, hater would still be claiming Biden ed up by withdrawing.

And now looks like they might be upset US moved their embassy operations to Airport. If they decide to take Kabul Airport everyone in it including US ambassador are hostages
Imo the Taliban would be crazy to start attacking Americans since it would force Biden to retaliate and keep troops there longer, but expecting the Taliban to act rationally is never a smart idea.
The optics of Biden being at camp David on vacation while this is going on are so ing bad. He should be back in DC this morning in the situation room making sure US personnel will be able to leave the country.
