Alito and Gorsuch seemed skeptical about the procedural issues with letting the district court injunction stand. Trying to read the tea-leaves based on SC questions is admittedly more of an art than a science, tbh.

I'm more interested in how they come down on US v Texas. If the federal government can't rein in states bent on denying cons utional rights, that seems much more momentous to me. Seems the overall legal strategy in and out of the Supreme Court is to buy time for Trump installed justices to overturn Roe v. Wade.
Putting off til the spring buys the antis time to wend their cases through the courts and continue to deny women's rights in Texas. It's outrageous that this should be allowed to stand one more second.

I guess I shouldn't be bothered at the lack of mention of women's rights, bodily autonomy and access to medical care.

Except it does, I guess. Women are people and should receive all the appertaining rights and liberties, instead of being feudalistic marriage cows.

Fetal "Heartbeat" Policy Kills Another Woman

"The baby weighs 485 grams. (17 oz)

For now, thanks to the abortion law, I have to lie down. And there is nothing they can do.

They'll wait until it dies or something begins, and if not, I can expect sepsis,"

Izabela said in a text message to her mother, private broadcaster TVN24 reported.

Izabela, a 22 year old Polish woman, died from the sepsis she predicted, and

her death has sparked last weekend’s massive Polish protests against the increasingly draconian abortion laws in Poland

Polish antiabortionists are pretending that Izabela’s death resulted from a misunderstanding of the law which states that abortion is permissible if the life of the pregnant woman is at risk.

    Not so.

Isabela’s doctors acted unethically and yet rationally in terms of their own self-interest.

The punishment for “killing” a fetus with a heartbeat, regardless of whether it will die soon anyway, is years in prison.

Punishment for allowing the unnecessary death of a woman suffering from a stalled miscarriage is perhaps an increasing price for malpractice insurance.

Expect more miscarriage deaths in this country when Roe is overturned.

if a ruling in favor of MS on Dobbs comes first, would that moot the Texas case, right?

if a 9 year old is pregnant, the chances she was raped are pretty much 100%

the Texas abortion ban includes no exception for such cases.

Apology & confession from one of the architects of the Right-Wing misogynistic pro-life movement

Frank Schaeffer, former Evangelical pariah and author of "Why I am an Atheist Who Believes in GOD," continues his apology tou

Schaeffer explains how a group of Evangelical Christians distorted the movement.

He said that before they deceived their followers, more than 50% of Evangelicals were pro-choice, including the likes of Billy Graham.

Ironically, Graham's son has become a stone-cold Evangelical hack.
"We come from a place where we have acted as if this is part of Christian theology," Schaeffer said.

    "It is not.

And the second thing is is that my family, sadly, as I talk about in the book, went out of its way not to stop abortion but

to put women back in their place.

    This was a misogynistic movement.

And I'll tell you something you cannot be pro-family unless you are pro-choice because if

women are treated like nothing more than incubating vessels, second-class citizens, and

this horrible burden that nature and evolution or god or whoever the creator was, puts on women.

If this is not balanced by the right to choose, we cannot have an equal society.

Women cannot have careers. Women cannot have lives."

of course, there would be some ad hoc rationale for some cons utional rights being relatively more deserving of protection.

So you bring up a case about a 9 year old that happens one in a million so the other 999,999 can slaughter babies in the womb simply because they are inconvenient. Nice.

    10,000?
