If they trade Jakob might as well trade White. ATL is the most logical fit if not Collins maybe Huerter and their pick this year.
Blech, not interested in trading Poetl if they're not getting a guaranteed first with Washington.

First SAGirl leaving us for Griz. I hate seeing Sugus go follow, Hornets??![]()
Not a big fan of this Poetl deal, Washington is a pure PF or a small ball 5. he will not protect your paint wich is a need for the spurs. Jones is a project ....

Do that CHA deal, except not for that fake NOP 1st
suns are looking for a backup guard a jalen smith swap makes sense
Hope we do that Charlotte deal, we need versatile guys with size like PJ and Kai and it would signal were fully rebuilding
Man this has been like Christmas morning for the front office. Brian Wrong getting it right.
That CAVS game really exposed us as far as height
I am willing to bet that this is bogus.
Definitely don't like that Charlotte trade. No, sir.
It can't be only now, even a casual like me can see that at the start of the season.
honestly if they trade White for Collins they need to keep Poeltl. It's either Poeltl or White that gets dealt.
I still don't see the Collins thing happening. Other teams are interested, and now we don't even have Thad or Eubanks to throw in the deal. Unless we are doing White+Poeltl, I don't see Atlanta biting and that's without even looking to see if salaries match.
The Cavs are an outlier in terms of size. No one else in the league can play three 7 footers at the same time.
Where are you getting that info? RealGM is showing their only outgoing FRP is this year’s to ATL, meaning they could trade a FRP as soon as 2024.
That Yak trade seems very interesting. The pick is a question mark, but if Kai Jones is showing progress, that might be something that could potentially swing this likely bogus rumor.
Pop will definitely do the Charlotte deal. He don't like guys over 6-8 . I bet Poetl to him is like Jaws in the James Bond movies
As much as the Spurs need young, versatile front court pieces and this might sound nice, in the end it'd likely be a pu pu platter. Decent third big probably about to get overpaid, project big and mid roundish 1st for an early prime, value contract, positive impact player.
Realgm as well - there's only one pick outgoing, but it's protected all the way to 2025.
This is the most action I can recall at the deadline.
Very nice moves and there may be more to come.
I have to give credit where it is due. Brian Wright is earning his keep!
I remember a lot of discussion about Kai here on ST during that draft. Some members were high on him. I like Poeltl but it might be time to sell high. He's either not going to improve on FTs and individual post D but if he does he might then become too expensive. Doesn't it feel like lose lose there?
And then you think about how SA polished the out of Poeltl in the first place, might be pretty genius in hindsight to bundle him at the peak of his value, value SA is largely responsible for building up, and flip him into new pieces for the future that level up the Spurs ceiling even higher.
Especially since Poeltl was a part of a longer bundle up since George Hill > Kawhi > the DDR deal > juice up Poeltl and flip > ?
Spurs been rolling this value up for over a decade lol.
Obvs would rather stand pat if offered pieces aren't tantalizing, which credit the Spurs FO that they seem to be super disciplined with incredible impulse control. Spurs don't really do lateral deals and everyone on ST complains on "we like what we have" but I feel like you'd rather sit and hold than just take something mediocre for the sake of moving. Bet if ST heard some of the ty offers on the phone themselves they'd see why "what we have", while ty was better than some trash offer.
It is now or never for a Jakob trade, i believe he only has 1 year left on his deal. And it seems Wright ideal roster is a shooter at center.
That Charlotte deal is trash. Wright would be back to persona non grata with that deal after a good week of work.
He's signed through '23, so it's not now or never and ideal roster construction or not, you don't give away good assets for mediocrity.
